-Brice's POV -
"He's what?!" Jerome growled, confusion and anger rolling off him in waves as he paced the living floor.
Mitch sat, wide eyed, on the couch, jaw loose and breath rapid. I grimaced, nodding at the furious bacca.
After calling Chase only to be met with his apparent boyfriend, I had arranged for him to meet us at his house in a couple of days, with Mitch and Jerome.
He didn't seemed fazed by the fact that a former victim of his, and his livid, bacca mate would be coming around for a chat.
Seto sighed, moving over to a stunned Mitch, wrapping an arm around his shoulder, waiting for when he snapped out of his numb state.
"Look, in two days you can get all your answers, and hopefully some closure. You may even become friends in the future, but in the meantime, Mitch is frozen, and we're hungry." he stated firmly, pointing at his stomach and squeezing Mitch's shoulder at the same time.
Jerome stopped pacing at the mention of his mates name, and I smiled at Seto as he rubbed his pregnant tummy, then he scooting away from a now quivering Mitch as Jerome leapt up and enveloped up him in his arms, muttering and cooing in his ear.
Seto smiled at the two, before his stomach let out a sound like a dying llama, making him blush and me chuckle, as I stood and walked over to my flustered husband, stretching my hand out to him and hauling him up, earning a giggle from him.
"Te tam bellus, virum." Seto squeaked, and I raised my eyebrow as he looked at me fondly.
Sometimes he slipped into Latin when he got worked up, I found out, after 6 months of him speaking. He told me that most sorcerers were fluent, so I didn't question it.
I even asked him to teach me, although apart from the odd 'carpe diem' and the occasional endearment I picked up, I never really grasped it.
However, I held onto the little I did know for the bedroom. Apparently dead languages turned on my little husband no end.
I smirked at him as I let my thoughts shift to the gutter, towing him to the kitchen so I could make my babies some food.
I gripped his hips securely and lifted him up onto the counter, grazing my fingertips over his tummy as I pulled away to the fridge, opening it and musing over the contents.
After much pondering over my amazing cooking skills, note the sarcasm, I pulled out a carton of eggs and some milk, closing the fridge and setting the ingredients down as I rooted through the cupboard for a bowl and a pan. French toast it is.
As I dipped the bread in the sweet mixture, I glanced at Seto who was staring hungrily At the pan, eyes locked on the sizzling bread as I turned it.
I smirked, flipping the sweet treat onto a plate and handing him the maple syrup along with it after he hoped off the counter, sitting down eagerly.
"I have a feeling you and Spud may eat us out of house and home." I chuckled, as Seto drowned his food in the syrup and began devouring it, knife and fork scraping the plate as he scarfed it down.
He looked at me with a glare, chewing the last piece if his French toast with a sticky pout, syrup and flecks of bread all over his face.
Just the look on his face was enough to send me into a fit of laughter, tears pricking my eyes as I almost collapsed on the counter with laughter.
It was only when I saw the sad look on Seto's face and his glassy eyes did I immediately sober up, cursing myself mentally as Seto wiped his face, tears streaming down it.
Oh shit.
I sighed, removing his empty plate and once again lifting him up onto the counter, standing between his legs with my hands on his waist.
My heart twinged as a tiny sob escaped his trembling lips, and brought him in for a hug, his face stuffed into my hair.
"Baby, what's wrong? Is it because I laughed at you?" I asked softly, rubbing his tummy gently. That seemed to sooth him better than anything else these days.
He hiccuped and shook his head, sniffling as he lowered his head to my neck, inhaling deeply.
"N-n-no, I-I was b-being greedy a-and fat a-a-and"
He burst into more tears, and once again sank into my neck. I gaped, pulling his head back up to look into my eyes.
"Baby,my pure not greedy or fat or anything like that at all. You're feeding two people remember. I shouldn't have laughed, and I'm sorry you felt like I was belittling you Seto, you just looked so adorable with that pout on your face that I had to. I'm sorry babe." I whispered, pecking his nose over and over as his tears turned into giggles.
He sniffled and nodded, hugging me tightly. I sighed, again cursing myself for causing this reaction, however extreme.
Must be the pregnancy hormones kicking in. I'm going to have to be extra careful if I wanted to keep my head in one piece, until everything calmed down.
He pulled away once more, and offered me a shy smile, which I returned, helping him clamber off the counter and skip away, no trace of his earlier meltdown showing at all.
I shook my head. Yep, those hormones will be the death of me.
-Seto's POV-
Two days came and went quickly, and the day of Chase's visit was upon us. He was expecting us, and Mitch and Jerome, who were currently cuddled up in the beats eat of our car, were coming with us to ask some questions of their own.
Brice and I did some research on male pregnancies, and found a few things concerning us, so decided to ask Chase when we saw him next.
I think Chase knew that after the 'CBear' fiasco, he'd be explaining a lot more to us. Brice drove quickly as we made our way to Chase's apartment.
Brice had his lips drawn in a thin line throughout the journey, obviously feeling he stress coming from the two mates in the back.
Mitch, although his face was somewhat calm, was shaking like a leaf in a hurricane, as Jerome kept a protective arm around him, looking like he would rip he head off anything that would dare look at Mitch the wrong way.
And he probably would, baccas are possessive and carnal creatures when it comes to their mates, and Jerome was certainly no exception. I feel sorry for Mitch's ass.
I sighed, leaning back into my seat. I was 7 weeks pregnant give or take now, and I was starting to get some of the side effects Chase mentioned.
I was tired a lot, and every morning this week, and every time I smelt coffee or fish, I would puke up my guts, often only just making it in time to reach the bathroom.
It was kind of a bummer, but I'd readily go through it a hundred times just to hold my child at the end of it all.
I suddenly felt a large, strong hand splay out on my stomach, making me relax instantly for the first time today as I glanced at its owner.
Brice gave me a warm smile, and I sighed contently, relaxing in my seat, no longer on edge.
His hand stayed on my tummy until he parked in front of Chase's apartment block, cutting the engine and getting out the car, running round to my side and helping me out.
I almost rolled my eyes at his overprotectiveness, but I couldn't help but smile.
His fierce protectiveness of me and the soothing calmness that he carried were two of the reasons I love him so much.
And I know our little Spud would get no different from him. He'd be the perfect daddy, and is already the perfect husband.
After travelling up the lift and along a couple of corridors, we arrived outside of apartment 223, home of Chase Matthews.
Mitch and Jerome lingered behind as Brice knocked on the door, squeezing my hand tight.
Light footsteps were heard behind the door, and it opened to reveal the cutest little guy I've ever seen!
He was tiny, barely 5'2", lean, with dark chestnut hair and big auburn eyes, thick long lashes batting at us innocently with curious eyes.
He had a sweet, excited grin on his face, and when he saw us, his eyes lit up with glee. He was adorable. Ad-or-ab-le!
He squeaked and clapped his tiny hands, giggling slightly, before turning back into the apartment.
"Chasey! They're here to see you!" he chirped, his voice soft and just loud enough to elicit a grunt from inside the apartment, and heavier footsteps came towards us, until the stoic face of Chase Matthews greeted us.
He snatched up the petite males hand and gestured us in with a grunt, walking in with who I assumed was 'CBear' skipping behind, hands still firmly locked.
Brice and I walked in, closing the door after a stunned Mitch and Jerome walked in with us.
We followed Chase to the living room and sat opposite him and CBear on the couch. The little cutie was sitting comfortably on Chase's lap, tucked under his chin with a content smile on his face.
Mitch was partially hidden behind Jerome, eyes scared but curious. I think we all were about Chase and CBear.
Chase sighed, running a hand through his hair, however CBear was, amazingly, the one to start talking.
"I'm Colin by the way, Chasey's boyfriend. I know what Chasey put you through in the past, I went through it myself. I want you to know that even though he seems all big and mean now, he's just a big teddy bear. He won't hurt you, trust me, even if you don't trust him." he stated, firmly, but gently, the soft smile on his face widening as Mitch peeked out a little more from behind Jerome, scooting slightly closer to look at the little guy on Chase's lap.
Jerome hummed, narrowing his eyes as Chase pouted down at his man. He sighed as he was given a pointed look I return, then looked back at us.
"Yes, I would never hurt you guys again after all the shit I did. Mitch, I wanna say how sorry I am for what can only be described as torture I inflicted on you. It's not an excuse but I was in a bad place at the time, and it was only when Colin here set me straight, did I realise how truly terrible I was, and for that I'm sorry." he mumbled, his face still stoic but his eyes guilty and sincere.
Colin patted his head, twirling around and jumping off his lap over to Mitch, pulling him up and dragging him away, babbling about him being his new best friend.
Jerome, Brice and I all looked back to Chase, who smirked affectionately, if you can smirk affectionately.
He sighed for the umpteenth time and ran a hand through his hair.
"So..." Brice began, giving Chase a strange look, "Care to explain?"
Jerome let out a huff in agreement, glaring at Chase, although with less venom than before.
Chase rubbed a hand over his face and looked back up at us, shoulders sagged, and I was surprised to see his eyes slightly glossy. I rubbed his stomach as he began to talk.
"Colin was once a target of mine. I couldn't understand my feeling for him at the time, and later found out I'm bisexual. He took everything I did with a smile, but one day when I saw Davey and Hanson beating him without my knowledge, something in me snapped. I told those meatheads to never touch Colin or anyone again and, uh... I broke down in front of Colin, basically begging him to forgive me... and he did.
"He showed me that how I treated others reflected how I treated myself in my mind and he told me to suck it up more or less and admit I was a giant ass. He is basically what pushed me to tell you all that stuff at school. And Jerome, I'm sorry again for what I put you and Mitch, who I assume is your mate through. His pride made me angry that I couldn't be free like that so I lashed out at him.
"And I want to thank you Seto, for trusting me enough to help you through your pregnancy. For what I did, I'm in debt to all four of you, and Adam and Ty, and I hope this means we can be friends into he future." he rambled, and for the first time ever I saw the true Chase Matthews.
A scared, confused boy with messed up family, left only with violence to let out all his feelings.
He shuffled, clearly uncomfortable talking about his emotions, and that broke the ice.
"I forgive you Chase." a small voice murmured from the living room door.
We all turned to see Mitch there, Colin behind him with a beam in his face. Did that boy ever stop smiling?
Jerome jumped up, crushing Mitch to his chest, before reluctantly letting go after a few tugs on his sleeve by little Colin, who guided him away as Mitch approached a cautious looking Chase. He stopped and crossed his arms, a deep frown on his face.
"Chase Matthews what you put me through was living hell. It broke me and almost cost me my relationship with Jerome. However, after speaking to Colin, who by the way I hope you worship like a prince, and hearing your little speech just now I have decided to forgive but not forget. Seto and Brice entrust you with the safety of their unborn baby and I for one want to bury the hatchet.."
He stuck out his and, and Chase stood, taking it and shaking firmly. His stoic features gave way to a small, genuine smirk, promising Mitch all he said.
Colin skipped over and practically leapt into Chase's arms squealing about Mitch being his new bff and how much ass Chase was going to get that night, causing the mighty Chasey to blush and mumble in his ear.
Laughing at their antics with my friends as Chase looked at Colin exasperatedly yet fondly, I glanced over to my smiling husband, knowing everything would be alright and that our baby would grow up with loving, if slightly bat shit crazy uncles.
Agagagagaga cute little Colin! >.< I love lil CBear, he the adorable little cutie that everyone's gonna loved! Chase and Mitch finally reconciled. It was time, seriously that shit was four years ago. And Seto and his mood swings? Gonna be seeing a lot more of those in the future. Btw CBear at the top, just tiny and and fabulous! :3
