A young female who appeared to be in her early teens was currently standing in the highest room in Beacon Academy. She had fair skin with a pale complexion, long bright pink hair that reached the back of her knees. However, a notable trait about her hair was while it was a bright pink at the top of her hair as it reached down it slowly became a darker shade of pink. The female also had deep pink eyes and she seemed to have very feminine taste when it came to cloths as well.

Preferring to wearing a pink and frilly blouse covered in pink flowers with a lace at the chest and a floral design at the end of the sleeves as well as blue pants with a white floral design on them as well. Pink shoes that had a petal design for the laces, and two hair clips that seemed to resemble wings to some extent. However there was one noticeable trait about her and that was her weapon, or at least what most people assumed her weapon was.

A small mirror that was floating around her with pink trimmings and a floral design to it as well. This was a female that most of the staff had already become familiar with as well a small portion of the students. Cerise Labyrinth, a female that Ozpin had found wandering the woods alone, and instead of abandoning her had taken her into Beacon. Her presence had become apart of daily life for not only him but the staff of Beacon as a whole.

They all cared for her, and they all tried to raise her as their own. It was a nice feeling but recently she had begun to seem a bit distant. As she looked out the window she sighed as she looked at the several students. "Is something wrong?" Ozpin asked as he looked at the female in front of him.

"It's just . . . why can't I join?" Cerise asked as she turned to look at the elder male in front of her. When she said this Ozpin sighed and put the pencil that he had been using to write down before looking at her.

"We've been over this, you can't join until you have some basic huntsman training," Ozpin said as he looked at the female in front of him. Due to the fact that he had found her wandering the woods by herself, he was skeptical, to say the least about her training, and this was just later proven when she had told him she had never been to a huntsman school before. So she had no degree of huntsman training at all.

"To be fair, she is stronger than some of the others that you allow into this school," A voice that came from the mirror that was floating around Cerise said. A voice that Cerise had come to call Nisha.

"Yeah and thanks to Port I know more about grimm than some of the teachers do. I know I could be a good huntress if you'd just give me a chance!" Cerise said as she looked at the male in front of her pleading with him to let her join him.

"I still can't let you in with no training. It wouldn't be fair to the other students," Ozpin said as he looked at the female in front of him.

"I don't understand why you won't let me in, I train with Glynda nearly every day that's got to count for something right?" Cerise said as he looked at the male in front of her.

"She also wouldn't blow all the other students out of the water if that's what you're worried about. She probably wouldn't be top of the class unless she really tried to be and that would just cause her to neglect her other classes in place of the one she's trying to succeed in," Nisha said as the mirror seemed to look at Ozpin.

"Yeah, I remember looking up that Pyrrha girl you were talking about last week and she's amazing! I wish I could do some of the stuff she can. If she's my competition there's no way I'll be top of the class," Cerise said as she looked at the male in front of her.

"Then there's that hooded girl from Patch you let in last month," Nisha said as she looked at the male in front of her.

"Yeah! She's only a few years older than me and you still let her in! You even let her skip the rest of the years she had!" Cerise said as she looked at the male in front of her. Ozpin sighed hearing this and looked at the female in front of her.

"That's different, I let her skip because she's had several years of training. I couldn't risk her going to a different school. It's . . ." Ozpin began before sighing. He still hadn't told her about Salem or her forces yet. "Complicated, just trust that I'm doing the right thing," Ozpin said as he looked at the female in front of him.

"Sounds to me like you're just playing favorites," Cerise said as she looked at the male in front of her. Ozpin once again sighed hearing this, it was evident that she wasn't going to let this matter go until she got her way. She usually wasn't the type to let things bother her and while Ozpin was sure he could just keep offering the two of them excuses until they eventually conceded and submitted to his wishes he was certain they'd still have some minor resentment left for him once he did.

"Alright, how about this," Ozpin said as he looked at the figure in front of him causing Cerise to look at him a bit intrigued by his offer. "I won't let you join Beacon, but I will allow you to 'shadow' a team," Ozpin asked as he looked at the female and she seemed confused but clearly interested in his offer.

"What do you mean?" Cerise asked as she looked at the male in front of her.

"You won't be apart of the team but you'll be permitted to join them in class, and accompany them on missions. As well as stay with them in their dorm if you so chose," Ozpin said as he looked at the female in front of him.

"So she's a member of the team, except for on paper," Nisha said as she looked at the male in front of him starting to see what he had planned for Cerise.

"If you chose to look at it that way, then I suppose," Ozpin said as he looked at the two in front of him before raising his finger putting it on his nose with a smile. Making it clear to them that was indeed his intentions. Cerise smiled and nodded with a smile.

"Thanks, Ozzy," Cerise said with a smile as she once again began to walk over to the window and started looking out the window trying to locate who her new team would be. However, unknown to her a bullhead full of last-minute students was approaching the city of Vale. On this bullhead was the female known as Fia was currently smiling as she walked down the halls of the ship that she was on.

She has to admit this wasn't what she was expecting the inside of a bullhead to look like. It was a lot bigger than she imagined, then again that might have just been because she was traveling somewhere else. So, maybe they used bigger bullheads for that. As Fia walked down the halls she saw several people the looked to be huntsmen in training as well. Or at least people like her that wanted to take the entrance exam for Beacon.

As Fia looked around she saw several figures of interest looking around the room for some reason or another. She wasn't sure why until she felt the ship suddenly move causing her to lose her balance. She almost fell but managed to catch herself before she hit the ground and then moved over to the side of the ship grabbing the railing that was on the side of the ship. She wanted to make sure she didn't fall again and began to walk down the halls.

As she did she stopped and smiled at the sight in front of her. She could see that they were slowly approaching a kingdom. This only excited Fia and her tail began to move back and forth in a rather excited manner and she began to impatiently bounce from one foot to the other clearly excited about getting to finally see what Vale was really like. She was so impatient in fact that she ran to her room realizing this so that she could get the stuff she had packed before she left.

Once she got her things she once again ran over to the door that they had entered knowing this is how they would be leaving as well. When the bullhead came to a stop she saw several others starting to gather around her as well and once the door opened she was quick and practically lunged out of the door. When she landed Fia smiled and began to look around clearly excited by the city that was in front of her.

Fia then began to walk down the streets looking around at the several buildings as she did. It was clear that she was fascinated by nearly every aspect of what she was seeing. Then again it was only natural for someone like her who had come from a rather small town. As she continued to walk however she eventually came to the massive building that she was sure was Beacon. It stood much taller than the other buildings and had a wide area in front of it as well.

Fia smiled seeing this and began to run towards the building clearly excited by the idea of what was to come. However, she stopped running when she heard a rather loud explosion and turned to see two females arguing. Fia would have interfered but stopped when she realized she recognized one of the figures. Weiss Schnee, heiress of Schnee Dust Company. This fact stopped Fia in her tracks and she turned and began to walk away.

She was always willing to help others in need but at the same time Fia knew the reputation the Schnee's had, and the last thing she wanted was to turn up as a missing Faunus that was working in the Schnee dust mines. As she walked away a figure took notice of her and began to walk towards her. A figure with pure white hair and deep brown eyes. However, if he was being honest the only reason he approached her was that she reminded him of his friend.

"Hey," The male asked as he looked at the blonde in front of him gaining her attention. "Are you alright? That scene seemed to make you a bit uncomfortable for some reason," The male asked as he looked at the female in front of him. When he said this Fia smiled and shook her head.

"I'm fine, it wasn't really the scene that got to me. More like . . . the people involved," Fia said as she looked at the female in front of her.

"Why? Do you know one of them?" The male asked as he looked at her a bit curious causing her to nod.

"In a sense," Fia said as she looked at the male in front of her.

"Right, well my name's Terry," The male said as he offered her his hand introducing himself. When he said this Fia smiled and took it shaking it once before releasing his hand.

"I'm Fia," The female said as she looked at the male in front of her. Terry smiled hearing this and nodded as they began walking down the path together.

"So do you know where we're supposed to go? I'm sure it was on the letter they sent but . . . I didn't read it," Terry said a bit embarrassed as he looked at the female. He always found reading a rather boring activity and due to how many people tried to force the subject on him when he was younger he always viewed it as more of a chore than something could do for fun.

"Yeah, we're supposed to meet in the auditorium, so that the headmaster can give us a short speech on what to expected as first years," Fia said as she looked at the male causing him to nod. The two then began to walk down the halls together and when they arrived Fia began to look around the room noticing how full it was. As she did she eventually got separated from the male that had been with her.

However, the next voice she heard was a male screaming. "He's a monster!" It sounded close and when Fia turned she heard another voice scream back.

"He's a hero! You should be able to understand that!" As the two continued fight Fia began to make their way towards the voices and when she arrived saw that they were both Faunus which caused her to wonder why they were fighting. After all, it wasn't often that two Faunus fought over something like this. Fight with humans sure but among each other? Then again this might have been just a matter of one of them agreeing with the White Fang and the other disagreeing. That was the only thing Fia could come up with at least.

The two then both drew their weapons which appeared to be swords. The only difference being the type of sword they were, with one being a broadsword and the other being a katana. The two then ran towards each other their blades clashing against each other with Red's blade being brought down due to how much heavier Logan's blade was. However Red didn't let this fact disturb him as Red went to punch the male in the face only for Logan to stop the attack.

Red didn't let this fact stop him as he swung his blade towards him. Logan once again stopped the attack and Red brought his blade down stabbing it in the ground before lifting himself up and kicking Logan in the face. Logan was pushed back feeling this and barely managed to avoid the second incoming kick. Red then landed on the ground and brought his blade out of the ground before swinging down on top of Logan.

As he did Logan stopped the attack only for Red to move back and begin trying to stab him with his blade. Logan managed to stop these attacks and went low trying to sweep the male's legs only for Red to jump and dodge the attack. As he did Logan brought his blade in front of him swinging at Red only for Red to be sent back since he was in the air. Once he came to a stop Red saw Logan charge at him swinging.

Red managed to stop the swing from his blade only for Logan to continue spinning attempting to kick the male which Red blocked only for Logan to once again swing his sword which Red had some trouble stopping since his sword had more weight behind it. Red was forced into this pattern for several seconds merely blocking before charging forward. Logan side-stepped the attack seeing this, and swung at him.

However, Red's intention hadn't been to hit him but merely stop his assault. As Logan swung at him Red avoided the attack by bringing his sword behind him to stop the attack and letting it slide into the ground under the weight of Logan's blade. Red then used his sword to flip back above Logan and went to kick him only for Logan to raise his blade above his head. As he did Red kicked several times before landing on his blade and then jumping up and bringing his sword down as if he were trying to stab Logan.

Logan moved out of the way avoiding the attack before turning with his sword and began once again pressing his assault on Red causing him to defend heavily before Logan managed to knock the blade out of his hands. Logan smiled seeing this and once again swung at him. He wasn't planning to kill Red but just hit him with the blunt end of his blade to show his dominance. However, this impact never can as Red's sword came in front of him stopping the attack with a strange telekinetic aura around the handle.

However, it disappeared and Red grabbed the blade flipping back and holding up his hand. It seemed like the fight was back on and he began sending several telekinetic blasts at him which Logan skillfully avoided before closing the gap and then jumping. As he did Red jumped as well and began spinning forcing Logan to stop his attack short and block Red's. As he did Red kick Logan in the side sending him back.

Red then once again charged at him and Logan ran forward as he did hitting Red in the chest with his shoulder sending him back as he did Red threw his sword and landed on it with a small band of telekinetic aura bind his leg and sword together before Red flipped forward landing on his hands and beginning to spin with his blade causing Logan to block the attack. He then ran forward and Red kicking him in the stomach with his free leg began before bringing the leg with his blade attached down on top of the male.

Logan stopped the attack and sent the male off of him before landing on his feet and rushing towards the male. However, before the two could once again clash a large purple wall appeared between them causing both to run into it. "That's enough children, it's not even your first day. Try to have some restraint," Glynda said as she looked at the two in front of her scalding them both. When she did they both put their weapons away and began to walk away from each other.

After she said this Fia looked up at the stage and noticed that an elderly male was walking up to the microphone. Ozpin then cleared his throat causing everyone in the room to look up at him as he began speaking. "I'll keep this brief," Ozpin said as he pushed his glasses up as he looked at the crowd in front of him looking for any figures that could be of interest apart from the ones that he had personally recruited of course.

"You have traveled here in the search of knowledge. To hone your craft and acquire new skills. And when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you and all I see is wasted energy in need of purpose and direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step," Ozpin said as she looked at the several figures in front of him.

The male then turned and began to walk off the stage with Glynda walking up to the microphone as he did. "You will gather in the ballroom tonight. Tomorrow your initiation begins," Glynda said as she looked at the figures in front of her. When she said this she began to lead the students to where they'd all be staying for the night. As they all began to rest a familiar figure walked out onto the balcony that was in the room so that she could look at all the figures in front of him.

Cerise stood on a balcony that overlooked the other students in the room. "So who's team will I be put on?" Cerise asked as she looked at the several figures in front of her before turning to Ozpin. When she did Ozpin began to scan the room looking for a certain induvial before stopping and pointing a male a wolf Faunus with red eyes and short black hair.

"You'll be on his team," Ozpin said as he looked at the figure. When he said this Cerise looked at the male and grimaced slightly.

"Isn't he that trouble maker you were talking about?" Cerise asked as she looked at the male on the ground.

"Indeed, apart from the security, he'll have from being here. You'll be placed on his team so that we can better keep an eye on him," Ozpin said as he looked at her. "If he attempts to remove his tracker in any way you are to notify us immediately and if possible prevent him from escaping," Ozpin said as he looked at Cerise. The female nodded hearing this and the two left the room before they were noticed so that the rest of the students could get some rest.

They were going to need it if they wanted to pass after all. Once they woke up they heard a loud ringing and when they looked up they saw Ozpin walking down the room with an alarm in his hand. Once they were all awake Ozpin looked at the students in front of him. "Good morning everyone, I hope you all had a pleasant rest. Now then, you all will have an hour to get dressed and eat, then report to the hill to the side of Beacon," Ozpin said as he looked at the figures in front of him.

When he said this Fia let out a tired yawn and stretched her hands forward similar to how a canine would before standing up and beginning to look through her bag for some extra clothes that she had brought with her. Fia then began walking down the halls to where she had seen the girls bathroom quickly changing and heading to the cafeteria. She looked over the meal that they were given and sighed slightly at what they were being given.

Not because it didn't look appetizing in fact it looked delicious. Fia due to her wolf traits preferred meat over every other type of food. This of course meat that out of the food she was being given she'd probably only eat a small portion. Fia didn't mind this fact too much however since she had brought some meat snack with her fearing that something like this would happen. Fia quickly ate the food she was given before leaving the room and beginning to walk down the halls of Beacon and eventually leaving.

Once she was out of the building she began looking around for the hill that Ozpin had mentioned and smiled once she finally spotted it and began to walk up to it. When she reached the top she saw several platforms and saw that several students were standing on top of them. After waiting several minutes for others to join them Ozpin began explaining what their test would be. While Fia was listening intensively to what he was saying there were a few others that weren't listening as carefully.

One of these figures was Logan Samson who while looking at Ozpin and Glynda wasn't listening to what they were saying. He heard a few select words such as 'relic' and 'danger' however, for the most part, he wasn't interested in what Ozpin had to say about the test or how to pass it. As far as he was concerned he was only there until he could find a way to escape. However, what he wasn't expecting was to be launched from where he was standing into the air along with several others. As he was Logan looked around for a way to stop himself.

He eventually found it when he saw a large tree and readied his blade stabbing it into the tree and sliding down it. Once he did Logan got up and dusted himself off before pulling his blade out of the tree. When he did he looked at it and sighed. His blade was covered in sap. "Great, now I'll not only have to clean this but I can't let it go into its passive form otherwise it'll get sap in the gears. This deal is starting to be more annoying than I originally expected," Logan said as he looked at his sticky sap covered blade.

Logan then began walking down the winding path of the forest and heard a low growl. When he heard this Logan turned and saw a pair of red eyes looking at him. He readied his weapon only for another male to stab him in the back of the head killing it. When he did Logan saw a familiar figure and he looked up cringed as well. "Of course," The male said as he pulled his sword out of the now-dead beast.

"Out of all the people I could have met in this forest, out of all the people that could have been my partner. It had to be you," The male said slightly annoyed by this and looked at Logan.

"I'm not exactly thrilled about the idea either," Logan said as he glared at the male in front of him. Logan then looked around in front of him. "Alright well let's get out of here," Logan said as he began walking down the path. As they were walking they eventually came across Fia and Terry talking to each other in an opening.

"Why couldn't I have been paired with a cute girl like her, instead I got paired with an asshole," Logan said as he looked at the male in front of him. They even appeared to be the same species but instead, he was with someone that believed the person who had killed his family was a hero. When he said this the two looked at them and smiled.

"Hey!" Fia said as she waved at the two in front of her. "Are you two looking for the relics too? Follow us, my partner used his semblance to find where some were!" Fia said as she looked at the two in front of her. The two smiled hearing this and began following them and eventually came across a small opening with several oversized chess pieces. They each took a piece and then began to make their way back to Beacon.

When they did they handed their findings over to Glynda who gestured to the building behind her. "Please go in and await your results," Glynda said as she looked at the four in front of her causing them to nod. The four then walked into the building seeing that it was already a bit full and began waiting for the teams to be announced. While it took them nearly an hour Ozpin did eventually walk onto the stage.

"Before we begin the announcement of teams, I would first like to have a moment of silence for the students that passed away in the Emerald," Ozpin said as he looked at the crowd and eventually the room fell silent and after several seconds Ozpin once again began speaking. "Now then I shall begin the announcement of teams and leaders. Once you hear your name please come stand in front of me and you will be given a key to your new dorms," Ozpins aid as he looked at the figures in front of him.

"Russel Thrush, Cardin Winchester, Dove Bronzewing, and Sky Lark. The four of you retrieved the black bishop pieces. From this day forward you shall work together as team CRDL, led by Cardin Winchester," Ozpin said as he looked at the figures in front of him. After he said this the figures began to walk away and Fia noticed that Glynda had given them keys, most likely to their new dorm room.

"Fia Flavescent, Red Flame, Logan Samson, and Terry Parr. The four of you retrieved the clear pawn pieces. From this day forward you four shall be known as team FRST led by Fia Flavescent," Ozpin said as he looked at the figures in front of him. When he said this Fia smiled and Glynda walked up to them handing them the keys to their new dorm room.

"If you four don't mind, I ask that you wait a moment before leaving. The headmaster has a special request of the four of you," Glynda said as she looked at the figures in front of her causing them to nod and look at the figure in front. When she said this the four nodded and walked to the side of the room so that they wouldn't interfere with the rest of the ceremony. However, once the rest of the teams had been assigned Ozpin turned to look at the four of them and began walking over to them.

"Hello, I was hoping I could ask a favor of the four of you," Ozpin said as he looked at the figure in front of him.

"Of course, what is it, headmaster?" Fia asked as she looked at the male in front of her. When she said this the male looked to the side and gestured for something. When he did a figure that had until now just been standing to the side walked out.

"This is Cerise Labyrinth, she's a bit of a special case when it comes to this school. Due to her young age, I wanted to give her a sense of what it would be like to be huntress before I officially let her join. If it's not to much trouble I'd like for her to shadow the four of you. She'll join you in class, and on missions. She'll be like an unofficial member of the team," Ozpin explained as he looked at the figures in front of him.

While Fia seemed to be fine with the idea, and Terry didn't seem to mind the other two male's on the team seemed to be heavily against the idea. Logan because he thought this was just Ozpin's attempt to get him to behave, and Red because he knew that if she was shadowing them it would make it much harder for him to leave and meet with Adam. So the two of them secretly hoped she wouldn't accept the offer.

"Of course!" Fia said with a smile as she looked at the two in front of her completely dashing their hopes of doing as they pleased.

"Excellent," Ozpin said with a smile as he looked at the figures in front of him. "Now then, I'll leave Cerise in your capable hands," Ozpin said as he looked at the figures in front of him with a smile. When he did Cerise looked at the figures in front of her with a bright and warm smile.

"Thanks for agreeing to this. I promise I won't make any trouble for you. I'm just happy to finally being able to get to do this," Cerise said as she looked at the figures in front of her. Fia smiled hearing this and nodded.

"Yeah, come on, let's go to our dorm," Fia said as she looked at the female in front of her causing Cerise to nod and follow the four down the hall.
