A single slice

Having company
A temporary fix
Self love and stability
Permanent and priceless

Words alone
Are not enough to secure
Protect your heart
You can never be to sure

Nothing in life
Comes with guarantees
Sometimes we must grieve
Aspirations and dreams

Sex alone
Does not equate to love
Without God involved
How can you call it love

Love is patient
But never a pushover
Long-suffering does not
Equate to growing older

Still doing the same things
That reap havoc on others
Expecting change
While hiding your true colors

Life's too short
To be wasting your time
Follow your heart
And put it on the line

Love is something
Most people cry for
An emotion so strong
Some willing to die for

But Isolation
Is absence of affecfion
And Loneliness
Is absence of direction

People come and go
That's all part of His plan
The art of letting go
Is independence of man

So look to God
Because He's always there
Keep your head to the sky
Because the creator cares
