xix. Endeavor's Life Advice

The entirety of Class 1-A was going shopping for their camp experience.

[L/n] and Aizawa were busy, but with different things. Aizawa was going through papers while discussing with the other staff members how many people should actually go to the camp, due to unfortunate circumstances with the League of Villains and the possibility of a traitor.

[L/n] was with Enji Todoroki, working on her fire, her other Quirk that currently had no name. They were in the basement of his agency, assuring that no one could hear them, or find them for that matter.

For hours and hours on end, [L/n] and Enji would fight each other with their flames. Her's were getting stronger, but it was taking quite the toll.

"Maybe you wouldn't be so tired if you didn't- nevermind." Endeavor started, stopping himself from saying what he wanted to say.

"No, no, no. What were you going to say?" She asked, wiping the sweat from her forehead.

The man gave her a certain look, a knowing look.

"Kamino."

"How can you even tell?" She immediately regretted asking, but it was far too late. The two were becoming the weirdest type of friends, like a love hate relationship, without the love and hate.

They were comfortable with one another, though they'd probably never admit that.

He sighed and pointed towards her partially exposed stomach, decorated with a few bruises.

"Oh."

"Oh?"

"Oh."

[L/n] merely laughed a bit, her face red with embarrassment.

"Have the two of you ever tried doing anything romantic? Look, all I'm saying is that you go from zero to a hundred, skipping everything in between. Have you ever considered you might want to be more than friends?" The massive man prompted, using his shirt to wipe the sweat from his exposed torso.

"If you're suggesting the possibility of a romantic relationship, the answer is no." The woman answered simply, stretching a bit. "He has too much going on in his own life, and so do I. His focus is purely on his students, and so is mine, even if I'm not always with them. Plus, I have this hidden Quirk that I have to keep up with now." She answered honestly, a small smile still on her face.

"I'm not going to tell you to try and date Eraserhead or anything, because personally, I think you could do so much better, but that isn't my choice. I've known you longer than anyone else has, and I know you better than most others do as well." He paused, choosing his words carefully. "But being in an actual relationship may make you happier."

"Are you saying my constantly teetering relationship, that isn't a relationship, with Aizawa won't make me happy? Because being with him makes me happier than anything else." [L/n] replied with a smile, her arms crossed.

"Then tell him that, you dumbass." Enji spoke with an aggravated sigh.

"I don't get it, why are you so focused on this all of a sudden? Or rather, my love life and happiness?" She inquired, leaning against the wall.

"Because in life, you never know what the next day may bring. If you don't tell him how appreciated he is and how happy he makes you today, what if you can't tell him tomorrow?" The man raised an eyebrow before chugging a bottle of water.

"If I do everything you say, will you leave me and my nonexistent love life alone?"

"I'll leave it alone, for a few days."

"Okay, you have yourself a deal." She offered her hand and the two shook on it.

Once that had been settled, the two returned to their training. The clashing of flames ensued for hours and hours on end, [L/n]'s getting stronger and stronger as Endeavor coached her through her own fire power.

She was having fun with it, and the unknown wind element added a fun little twist to it all.

Their training session ended near midnight, and both were more than ready to go home and sleep.

"Your Quirk's gotten stronger, you're doing great." Enji complemented, sliding his shirt back on and chugging down another water bottle. "Your control of it, whatever it really is, is fantastic as well. If you're ever in a dire situation, you'll definitely be able to use it in a fight."

"Thank you, Enji. Now that we have an understanding of it and know how it works now, why don't we name it?" [L/n] prompted, stretching one final time before their departure.

"Or we could leave it shrouded in mystery." Enji responded, [L/n] liking the idea.

Being deep under the agency, neither knew just how late it was. Grabbing their belongings and leaving, the two walked out into a pitch black night.

"Thank you, for everything. Goodnight, Enji." [L/n] smiled brightly before walking off, the massive man not saying a word as he, too, made his way home.

[L/n] made her way to Aizawa's and walked in, shutting and locking the door behind herself. Well, he didn't attack me this time, so I'm guessing he's either asleep or he knows it's me.

Walking into the kitchen, she grabbed a bottle of water and chugged it down before walking to the man's bedroom, and he appeared to be sound asleep.

Stripping herself of her training clothing, she slid on one of Aizawa's t-shirts, black of course, and gently laid beside him in bed, doing her best not to wake him up.

"Good morning." His voice rasped, the male rolling over and draping an arm around his companions frame.

"Oh I'm sorry, did I wake you Shouta?" [L/n] replied, feeling his chest press against her back.

"No, no, not at all. I was getting worried though, thought you wouldn't be coming back tonight." Aizawa's raspy and tired voice made [L/n]'s heart flutter. It was a feeling she hasn't had before, but one that made her smile.

"I didn't mean to worry you, Shouta. I just got caught up with something." She replied softly, humming as his hand began to glide up and down her side.

The two were silent after that, just laying together in a blissful silence, enjoying each other's presence. Aizawa used his hand to move her hair ever so slightly and place a gentle kiss on the back of her neck before returning to softly rubbing her side.

Their relationship had changed so much in the past few months, and they were both here for every part of it. Neither expected to be in the situation they were in, if you were to ask either of them if they thought they'd be here, laying in the same bed, enjoying the others presence nearly every night, they'd think you were crazy.

"Hey, Shouta." [L/n] brought up, deciding to do what the elder Todoroki had suggested. He was right, you never know what tomorrow may bring, and the scarring on her torso was proof of that. After all, if All Might hadn't shown up when he did, she would be dead.

"Mhm?" He asked tiredly.

"I feel like I don't say it enough, so," she paused, rolling over and scooting up slightly to where she was looking at his face, "thank you. You're the best partner a person could ever ask for, and you're always there for me no matter what."

A small, tired smile arose to Aizawa's face as he placed a soft kiss upon her lips, [L/n] immediately melting into it.

"And you," Aizawa began as he pulled away, preparing to say something that's always been in the back of his mind, words he knew that were true, but never thought he'd say, "have become the light of my life. You're bubbly and joyous, a star walking the Earth, and have always stuck by my side without me even asking."

[L/n]'s heart had never felt so warm, the butterflies in her stomach had never fluttered as much, and the smile on her face had never been so genuine.

They never needed words to express their feelings, they could tell by one anothers actions. This time though, was different. The looks in their eyes, his tired red and her [e/c] ones, they told a tale.

Their bond required no words, [L/n] would even venture to say they had an unspoken bond, but it sounded rather cliche.

Aizawa wasn't one to say how he felt, so for him to say those words as he looked her in the eyes, showed just how much he meant it, and just how much he had accepted it himself.

He sat up and leaned his back against his bedframe, proceeding to pull [L/n] up with him, who now sat straddling him, his hands now cupping her face, his thumbs rubbing circles on her cheeks.

"When we get back from camp, I'd like it if we did something together. Something that isn't fighting villains, that isn't training students, that isn't thinking about everyone else. Just us." His voice was as tired and gruff as ever, as were his eyes, but [L/n] knew him better than anybody, and she could hear the hopeful and soft undertone.

"I'd like that, I'd like that a lot Shouta. And according to my dictionary, that's called a date." She laughed softly, placing one of her hands on his cheek, the man leaning into her gentle, warm touch.

"According to my dictionary, hush." He brought her face to his and placed a short, sweet kiss on her lips, the two resting their foreheads against one anothers.

"So I'm going to the camp as well?" [L/n] asked, her hands resting on the man's sides.

"Yes. Originally it would just be Vlad and I, but we decided to bring you along." The man paused and let out a small laugh. "We're bringing you along specifically for Bakugou."

Now it was [L/n]'s turn to laugh. "Makes sense then."

Neither spoke anymore words as they changed their positioning to where they were laying down once more, Aizawa's arm draped around her frame, holding her close.

That night, they got the best sleep either of them have had in a long time.
