Dear dear Levi Ackerman, the captain of my team,

Today is the day where my first expedition begins and here I am early in the morning writing this letter. Every single piece of envelope I've written to you, not a single one have I sent. Apparently, it became a routine and it's like the fake image of you reading my letters is my diary. Does that make sense? It makes me laugh how I unknowingly fall for you when I hadn't talked to you or even met you. It's funny how I have my feelings developed just by writing these silly letters which I never had a strong enough courage to send. I'm so foolish.

Anyways, in this expedition, death is certainly inevitable and even so, I still don't have the guts to tell you I love you. I can only observe you from a distance with the eyes of a hopeless admirer. Levi, I love you. I know for sure that you'll survive, you have to, you're the strongest soldier we have. As for me.. I may die. I may die today, hours later. I wonder if you'll miss me. I wonder if I'll end up telling you my feelings before my last breath. I wonder if these letters will be passed to you after my death. Oh Levi, will I come back? I'll definitely miss these white puffy clouds and the calming blue sky. I'll miss the town in the dark of the night. But the good side.. I'll be able to reunite with my parents.

How foolish of me to think that you'll even think of my death for a single second. You must have experienced it countless times when you leave those gates to the wild of the Titans. I'm sure you have grown used to it, though you'll protect whoever close to death's gate in a heartbeat.

I know now that I'm very close to death's gate when I'm preparing to leave this temporary safe town. I'm not afraid of death, I'm just a little sad that I'll have to leave such beautiful natures without completely exploring it. I really do hope that when I take my last breath, I'll be able to see you for the last time. I'd just want to see you for the last time.

She rose from her seat and tucked the letter into her drawer, locking it securely to ensure nobody has excess to it. She prepared herself along with several cadets who has woken up from their slumber before heading out to have their meal.

Breakfast was a little more fancy than usual, probably because it may be their last. It contained a slice of meat and a loaf of bread along with a nice steamy bowl of soup. Rihanna took her chance to enjoy her meal and appreciate every bite of it, savouring the taste and planting it onto her mind. Brushing her gaze across some other members of the Scouting Legion, she met the steel grey eyes of a certain ravenette. It took every ounce of her energy to not tear her gaze off because she knew she had to appreciate every single moment she had today.

A small smile formed on her thin lips as he nodded at her in acknowledgement, then turned away, sipping on his cup of tea in an odd way by how her hold the rims of his cup rather than the handle. She silently sighed at his peculiar habit, but adored it nonetheless.

The gates opened as the hateful cheers of the crowd became louder. Most of the soldiers were heartbroken at such a sight, knowing that they are all risking their lives for their sake. Levi was not fazed by them, including the senior soldiers who were already used to it.

Rihanna's heart hammered her chest as she left the walls which stood proudly. Her horse raced outside and she was welcomed by a magnificent view of a wide sheet of fresh green grass which ruffled against the streaks wind. Her aqua blue hair stretched behind her in two thick ponytails as she rode across the field; they whirled and danced in the wind in the most beautiful way as Levi looked back to admire her beauty because he too, knows that this very moment may be his last.

He knows it all too well.

They separated their ways in groups and dashed in various directions, relying only on their guns to communicate with the other teams.

The long awaited Titan has finally appeared to once again eat the lives of the endangered human species.
