GREETINGS

Welcome to the first Unseen Gems Awards, an International version of the Hidden Gems Awards. Here, you can participate in contests in order to get your story out there and known!

It's hard to get noticed in a place like Wattpad. It's even harder to get recognize if your book isn't written in English. That's why the Unseen Gems Awards is created: to bring light to the struggling international authors.

This awards will help undiscovered writers get their chance at the spotlight and to say that other languages are equal to English and should have a fair chance of getting recognized.

However, do understand that this is currently a pilot program and thus cannot be big and generous as we want. Currently, for Italian, with only 1 judge, we can accept up to 24 entries of Romance and Teen Fiction. For Vietnamese, with only 1 judge, we can only accept 10 entries of Mystery/Thriller and Short Story/Poem. We welcome Mature and LGBT+ works.

Judges will read up to chapter 4 of your book (Prologue counts as one) then will include a score and a short comment when they report back. Three books with the highest scores will win in their genre.

TIMELINE OVERVIEW

Due to the small amount of entries, this awards will only have two rounds, max.

Each language will have a judge that can read, write and speak the judging language respectively.

SUBMISSION CLOSED - OCTOBER 21

ROUND ONE [MID OCTOBER - LATE NOVEMBER] - Judge(s) will read the two chapters of their assigned books. A benchmark will be established. Those who have lower than the cut-down percentage will be eliminated.

ROUND TWO [LATE NOVEMBER - LATE DECEMBER] - Judge(s) will then read the next two chapters of the remaining books. The top 3 scorers will be the winners.

RULES

MANDATORY

1. Follow this account @HiddenGemsAwards for the duration of the contest. This is the only account you'll be following, so don't fret. You can unfollow us later once the contest is over, but we need to ensure we can communicate results and updates with you.

2. Don't be rude to any other contestants/judges. Don't bribe or threaten judges. Either case, you will be mute.

3. Only Teen Fiction and Romance accepted at this first cycle.

5. You can enter only one book. We've limited spots and we want to give everybody a chance.

6. Completed and ongoing stories will be accepted. However, ongoing works must have at least 5 chapters. Prologues and epilogues count. Mature and LGBT+ materials are accepted.

7. If you change your username or book title, or delete your book, please PM this account to tell me about it. I won't busy chase people down.

OPTIONAL

1. You can add this book to either your library or public reading list. This is so that you can know when this book is updated as well as help people aware of this brand new Awards.

2. You can tag people to help bring more undiscovered international authors about this program.

3. You can do a shout-out on you profile about this International Awards.
