GRACEI'S P.O.V.

"So, Gracie, how long have you been mute for?" Teito asked.

I stiffened slightly, but it looked like he didn't notice.

"Since I was five." I signed.

"She said since she was five." Mikage translated.

Teito looked slightly taken back, but quickly recovered. It was so fast you wouldn't notice, but ever since I was, little I had amazing sight and observation skills, so I noticed it easily.

"How old are you know?" He asked.

I was about to answer, but unfortunately, I was rudely interrupted by the imbecile of a friend I have next to me.

"Actually, " Mikage began,"today is her birthday! January thirteenth! She just turned fifteen."

"Really? I turned fifteen last month." Teito said.

"So when was your birthday then?" I asked.

"She want to know when your birthday was." Mikage relayed.

"December first." Teito replied.

I gave a thumbs up and my lip sorta twitched.

"That's her way of saying cool. Be glad she almost gave you a grin the first day you met.

She's usually very closed off about her emotions. I took me a week to get her to smirk at me."

Teito looked at me. I shrugged an sighed.

"I felt a twinge of generosity for one sole moment and you go and completely blow it out of proportion Mikage. You're such a drama queen." I rolled my eyes while signing the last part.

All he did was laugh at me. I raised an eyebrow.

"What? It's true!" I signed. He just laughed again.

"What's so funny?" Teito asked in a monotone voice.

"Well I can certainly tell this kid is excited." I thought sarcastically.

Mikage repeated the whole conversation we just had and Teito just kept a strait face through the whole thing, but when I looked closer, I saw complete amusement in his eyes.

I huffed and began walking faster.

"Hey! Wait up." Teito said.

I stopped, turned around, and signed, "Oh! So the fastest kid in school needs a girl in high heels to slow down for him? Hmmm, how interesting."

Mikage snorted. "That was a low blow man. Hurting a mans ego? Very low." He said while walking up to me and Teito, who had finally caught up to me.

I almost giggled, almost is the key word there, but after ten years of hiding my emotions, I think I would have pretty good control over them. Although, even though I didn't giggle, you could clearly see the amusement in my eyes.

"NOW what did she say?" Asked an annoyed Teito.

After Mikage repeated what I said again, Teito looked even more annoyed.

I started to get tired of the repeating thing, so I walked up to Teito and turned his head to face me. Our faces were about a few inches part. Teito looked at me wide eyed and was blushing slightly. Mikage was wide eyed too, but for a different reason.

I put both my hands on the sides of Teito's face. His eyes widened more, and his blush intensified. I smirked, a full on smirk. Not half, nor quarter, but a full smirk. Anyways, I smirked and then got on my toes, still in my heels by the way, and kissed his forehead. I held my lips there for a second, then pulled away slightly to where my lips were barely touching his forehead.

I mouthed a few words, my lips brushing his forehead with every word, and then kissed his forehead again. I got back down off my toes and stepped back about three feet.

Teito eyes were the size of saucers and he was blushing madly. Off to the side Mikage was just wide eyed.

Mikage was first to recover.

"Did you just,"

I nodded to his question.

"Why?" He asked.

That's when Teito decided to recover.

"What just happened?!" He yelled.

I flinched slightly, but only Mikage noticed. He looked at me with apologizing eyes. I just waved my hand at him saying it was fine.

I looked at Teito and took down the wall between our minds.

"I enabled you to "hear me speak", if you wish to call it that, without using the sign language since we weren't getting any any where with Mikage relaying what I'm saying. That and I was starting to get annoyed with the amount of time it takes to tell you something when you can just hear it from me when I say it." I "said"

"What!?" He screeched. "Does that mean you can read my mind?" He asked.

"Only if you let me." I said.

"Okaaay." He said slowly. "How is this possible?" He asked.

I really didn't want to talk about it so I decided to change the subject.

"I still know sign language, so people I don't trust, which is just about everyone, can understand if they know sign language. Also, so that way when I talk to Mikage, I use the sign language, but I also 'say' it so he understands exactly what I'm saying. This is so that way no one get suspicious of how we communicate. I mean who wouldn't be when a guy is having a conversation with a girl who isn't even talking." I said to him in my mind. (A/N when it says "she said" in other P.O.V.s or "I said" in her P.O.V, I'm talking about when she says it in her mind since she never actually says it.)

Teito saw what I was trying to do so he decided to let the subject drop, but I had the feeling he was going to try and get it out of me at some point.

"So now people think Mikage knows sign language?" He asked.

I nodded.

"Okay, I guess I get it now." He said.

"Good, now let's go, I'm getting hungry and every minute we waste is more time of starvation for me." I said.

Mikage laughed. "You're always hungry. I honestly don't know how you mange to stay this skinny with how much food you eat." He laughed.

I glared and punched his arm. "It called working out and having a fast metabolism." I said.

Off to the side I hear Teito chuckling. I playfully glare and he pretends to be scared and looks away. I silently giggle and the two of them smile at me. Well, Mikage beams at me, where as Teito gives me a small smile. I nod, turn around, and start walking to the cafeteria.

I notice they aren't following so I stopped, turned around, and looked at them.

"Hurry up!" I whine.

They laugh and catch up with me. I just pout and walk with them to the lunch room. Well, we were going to head to the lunch room, until we ran into a problem. A very annoying problem might I say.
