CRACK! BOOM! SHAKE!
The thunder roared against my ears, shaking my heart. I was in my room, reading my books and studying for school. I pick up a few words from downstairs, where my parents are.
"Eryn, when will we tell her?" says my father, sounding distant and distressed. This had to be serious. I walked silently down the stairs. I peeked my head around the wall. My father was standing next to my mother.
"I'm not sure, Calen." They lower their voices, but I can see my mother, Eryn, running her hands through her short blonde hair. My father let out a sigh. "She manifested her charging power, but what about-" They moved to the next room. What were they talking about?

"Mom? Dad? Why do we have to go to Eternalia?" I put on my cloak, fastening the family crest of the Wingsley's. My mom looked at me, and then placed her hands on my cheek. It's weird. My mom loves me, but not like this. She looks at me the way you'd look at someone leaving forever. Like she knew something that I didn't. I could see my father grip on his cape, trying to look occupied, but in a situation like this, it's impossible to tell.
"Shay, listen to me." Tucking my blonde hair back, she continued. "Be good with your father. If anything happens, I'll be there soon. I love you."
"Love you too, Mom." I smiled blankly. My dad approaches me and grabs my hand. He kisses my mom on the cheek and whispers something. A blank stare of shock takes over her face, but then she resumes to where she was before. Cantering forward, away from my mother, my father holds up the crystal. He takes one last look at my mother somberly and then we leap away to Eternalia.
Little did I know, that was the last time I saw my parents. Together.
--The same day, right after Calen and Shay leaped, while the chaos in Eternalia was happening—
"I really don't want to do this." The tall figure's cape swayed in the slight wind.
"Me neither, but I actually did the right thing."
"I guess we'll have to deal with this the hard way, Eryn." coldly replied the woman.
"I would argue, but wait- I forgot you can't win arguments with stupid people." She glared at the villainous figure. Clutching her hand, her nails dug into her hand, and she tilted her hand. The Psionipath created a force field, shielding herself from the enemy.
"It's so sad you had to betray us like this. Going off to the Black Swan, but then stabbing us in the back like that." She unhooked herself to reveal a tall woman with dust-blonde hair and cold, heartless ice blue eyes. She unsheathed a dagger, and flung it in the air. The woman clutched it and narrowed her eyes. Two nodded people emerged from the shadows, eerily creeping toward Eryn.
"Gisela, please. Your risking the entire peacefulness and silence of this whole thing." Pleaded Eryn, her shield shaking and making it appear and reappear. The woman, who was no other than Gisela, who's dagger shimmered in the light of the mid-morning.
"Protect your daughter. Protect the Neverseen." Stammered Eryn, tears slowly flooding from her eyes.
"I gave you a shot at that, and you did what? Fail?" She clicked her tongue. "Such a pity. Now, I'll back-stab you."
And when Lady Gisela Sencen says something like that, she means that literally.
