Pretty is what she wants to be
Every look in the mirror yet
Reminds her she's ugly, clear to see
Full of flaws, not like the stars on TV
Expected to fit in by society
Can't help but hate
The person staring back
Inside her is much, but she can see
Only the ugly girl in the mirror
No one who she wants to be

Skipping meals is what she started
Knowing no other way, by false
Idols she was guided
Needing help, yet decided
No one should stop her, it was true
You didn't even notice, though

Putting on make up she also tried
Redder lips, whiter skin, daily fight
Everything just to fit in
Treating every food as a sin
Tears roll down her bony cheeks
Your all acceptance is all she seeks

Fake it is now, but she smiles
Lies, emptiness silent cries
Are all that she has left
Wishing just to be accepted
Looking in the mirror still
Even now not perfect she will
Stop eating
Sooner or later, no cheating

Don't you all know how the story
