I dreamed a dream today
A dream you still were here
And I wished that I could stay
In that place where we were near
Where again you smiled at me
And your hand was holding mine
Where again your face I'd see
And your eyes in it would shine
Like the sun upon would too
Down her light on me and you
Oh how I wished that it was true!

I dreamed a dream that night
A dream where there was peace
And no one  had to fight
In a place all pain does ease
Where plenty flowers would grow
And children in them play
Where people believed in tomorrow
And yet lived day by day
Like the sun does always rise
To each day light the skies
Oh how I wish it was like wise!

I dreamed a dream today
A dream, nothing but a dream
So different from the world I stay
With all it's horrors I have seen
Where no more the children play
As under grass they sleep
Where all flowers are away
Trampeld by marching feet
Where all left of you is a grave
And I'll never you smile again
Where only on paper I see your face
And when I'm dreaming of back then
Like my worst nightmare, but awake,
A night that will forever take,
Because if the sun does shine
It never is for me
Rain the only friend of mine
In this dark reality!

-A/N guess who is back with trash poetry? Me! After some huge changes in my life, I finally found inspiration to write again. I don't know why, but the spark finally sprang after what felt like the decade of a writers block...
