20: 🌻
Third Person's POV
The looks spoke volumes.
And no, it wasn't just Yusuf's. Abu, Sama, her half-sisters, Mahdi, Granny, Aunt Maria and finally, cute Misam's.
Huda internally battled against her mouth that was ready to ask why Laiqa was giving her that look on her face. Sama looked slightly apologetic though, but Huda believed non of that. To her, the woman was a two-faced bi*ch and was unpredictable.
Ayesha was practically looking at her with hearts in her eyes. Remind Huda to thank him later for indirectly pushing her to do some things that turned out good for her later.
Anisa though with a sweet smile on her face, looked a bit distracted. Huda subtly raised an eyebrow at her and she replied with a similar look, also raising her brows slightly. Interesting...
Grandma and Aunt Maria had a grin on their faces. Huda gave them a little smile, and the grins got even wider.
Abu had a proud smile on his face. Huda had to admit that even though he hadn't been the best father, he was one of the main reasons she had done the things she did in the past.
She took a sit on the floor beside Yusuf, a respectable space between the both of them. From the corner of her eyes, she could see Misam waving trying to grab her attention. She turned her head and smiled at her before giving her a wink.
Someone snorts lightly beside her. Her cheeks coloured almost instantly and she quickly looked away.

"Qubool Hai "
"Qubool Hai "
"Qubool Hai "
The Imam said some prayers before Misam came tackling her down with a hug.
Her heart soared. During the past two weeks, she had formed a tight bond with Misam who reminded her a lot of Janan. There were just too many similarities between them that were hard to ignore.
"Misam," Yusuf chastised in a light tone. She pulled away slowly not before smiling sheepishly at him.
Huda could hear her heartbeat as he took her hands in his, and kissed her knuckles before pulling her into a hug.
She stilled for a minute before relaxing. She wrapped her hands around his torso and buried her head in his chest. There wasn't much height difference between the both of them.
Reality hit her hard. This was going to be her new home. With him and Issam. She was finally moving on and going to erase the bad chapters of her life from her memory. She was going to spend the rest of her life with him if Allah wills. Grow old and build a happy home with him.
"Assallam Alaikum," he whispered for only her ear to hear.
"Wa Alaikum Salaam, " she replied the tesleem smiling.
For a moment, it felt like they were the only ones in the room. Both were lost in each other's eyes, hearts beating in rhythm. Oblivious to the voices of others as they congratulated them, and prayed for blessing in the new union.

" I'll miss you, granny," she said holding her hands.
Granny smacked her lips together and adjusts her face mask.
" You can always visit me whenever you want dear, so I'll know if you miss me,"
The idea sounds nice and tempting. She'd have to have a conversation about that with Yusuf though.
" or...we can always Skype. That sounds fun too, right?"
" whatever," granny rolled her eyes.
"I love you too, granny" Huda pulled granny into a hug laughing.
"Of course you do, who doesn't?" She replied cheekily.
Granny squat down to give little Misam a peck on the forehead and kisses on her chubby cheeks.
" I'll miss you too great-grandma, " she pouts.
Granny beamed and turned to face Huda once again.
"Now, that's what you call 'cute' dear. I'll love to see her very soon in Ireland".
Huda chuckled nodding and kissed her grandmother on the cheek. She watched as she walked further into the airport. Granny made it a point to blow them a kiss before disappearing into the crowd.
" now let's head to the spa for some pampering, Princess" she walked slowly, hand-in-hand with Misam who seemed enthusiastic about the idea.
She opened the car and helped her with her seatbelt. Huda turned on the ignition and reversed the car driving out of the airport.
" Daddy's calling,"
Huda spared Misam who was with her phone, a glance before giving her a slight nod. The girl swiped on the phone, answering the call.
" hi daddy...yeah...we're going to the spa...wow, really?...cool daddy...okay...Allah Hafiz daddy".
The call ended and Misam leaned forward enthusiastic.
"Mommy,"
"Yes love," she replied half mindedly her attention focused on the road.
Issam had immediately started calling her 'mommy ' since the Nika'ah which happened a week ago. Oddly, Huda liked the new status and name.
"Daddy is taking us to the aquarium tomorrow, yay!"
Huda chuckled at the enthusiasm of the six-year-old. She was a very cool kid like now, and can also be cranky and hyperactive.
" Wow! I'm excited, are you?"
"Of course mommy. I can't wait to tell great granny about this, mommy. I bet she'd also wish to come with us".
" yes Love".

On reaching home, an angry-looking Laiqa was who she came face to face with. Hands akimbo, she looked like a tigress ready to pounce.
"Hey," Huda said to her while collecting her bag from the car.
"We need to talk!"
One look at her face again, and Huda knew this was going to be something she wouldn't want Misam to witness.
" love, why don't you go wait for me inside. Your aunt Laiqa and I have something to discuss. You can arrange the blocks before I join you ". Huda pats her affectionately on her back, then ruffled her hair.
"Okay mummy," she smiled cheekily before skipping inside the house.
Huda followed Laiqa's gaze as she stared at Misam.
"What's it now?" She cleared her throat bringing back Laiqa's attention.
"I see you've used your charm on the kid too," she sneered.
" if you've got nothing to say, the door's wide up. Take your leave,Laiqa! "
" aren't you grateful that someone still chose to stay with your sorry a*s?-"
" if you're here to pick up an argument cause you're bored at your matrimonial home, then I'll hate to burst your bubble," she said menacingly and took a step closer to Laiqa who looked feral.
" I'm done playing mind games with you Laiqa, get that straight into your head".
"You're overstepping your boundaries, Huda! Stay away from my husband!"
"Are you stupid?"
"Stay away from my husband. I can be crazy-" she was cut off by Huda.
" of course you are crazy! Get out of my home and go deal with your cheating scumbag of a husband!"
"What's the argument about?" A calm voice spoke. It was calm yet commanded order.
Huda inhaled through her nose very slowly. She had almost lost her cool again at Laiqa. These days, she had been very good at controlling her anger. Her therapy sessions were paying off, and of course Yusuf's effort also.
"Tell your wife to stay away from my husband or wallah-"
"No swearing,"
She paused and looked at him in disgust.
"Who are you to give me orders?"
Meanwhile, Huda caught Misam peeping through the window from the corner of her eye. She hissed under her breath, then made eye contact with the little girl who was curious about the scene.
Misam's widened her eyes dramatically when Huda raised her eyebrow at her questioningly. In a flash, she flew away from the window.
Huda tuned out what Yusuf and Laiqa were saying. She could tell that he was cautioning her, and Laika was looking like she wanted to hit him with her hands in a tight fist.
'Waste of breath,Yusuf'
" get your hands off my hair, you bi*ch!" Laiqa struggled as Huda caught a handful of her hair and dragged her out of the premises.
"Stay away from my family!"
"You stay away from my husband, Huda!"
" will you stop screaming like a madwoman?!" Huda gripped the hair tighter making her flinch.
"Now, listen to me! I AM NOT INTERESTED IN YOUR HUSBAND. Whatever it is that's making you assume this, and coming to my home to pick up a fight with me, sort it out yourself". She drew her closer and then suddenly let go of the hair making Laiqa stumble.
" How dare you handle me like that!" Laika was fuming and looked ready to kill.
" People like you can be best handled roughly, to put some sense into the thick skull".
"You think you've won huh?. Because someone finally pitied you and married you, makes you feel high," she laughed out wickedly. " you are just a-"
" take my friendly advice and leave this instant! I won't tolerate you speaking to my wife like that. I sure have my ways of dealing with you without being violent, so cease being unreasonable and confront your husband whenever you have suspicions".
"Hmph," Laiqa glared at Yusuf.
Huda was flabbergasted. How was it possible for Yusuf to shut Laiqa up with just sentences that every other person would have said and wouldn't have any effect on her?
A few seconds of glaring at Yusuf, then at Huda, Laiqa stomped off disappearing into her car and hitting the accelerator hard.
The couple watched as Laiqa's car flew and disappeared into the street.
" wow! How did you do that?"
"What?" Yusuf looked confused, not understanding the look of awe Huda was giving him.
" shutting her up. I bet I would have said the exact words, and it wouldn't have any effect on her ". She tilts her head slightly to the side studying him.
He merely shrugged before putting his hands around her shoulders and guiding them back inside.
" I guess that's your superpower. You know... you have this effect on people. I can't quite put a finger on it, but it's hypnotising".
" is that so?" He smiled which looked like smirking.
" yeah, you'll have to teach me how to do that someday". She smirked, " I'm very willing to learn for free ".
"Nothing in this world is free habibti ". He drawled out.
" And here I thought you'd consider me as I'm a very special person,"
This made Yusuf chuckle as he turned the doorknob.
" you are a very special person, but-" he turned to face her square in the face.
" I'm not going to render my services for free this time habibti,"
"Fine," she huffed. " name your price".
"Let's talk about that later tonight, habibti," he sent her a wink before bundling Misam in his arms.
Issam looked at Huda in concern and nudges her father.
" Daddy, mummy's hair and face are in the same shade now. Is she going to be okay?"
" your mummy will be fine, qalbi. She's just overwhelmed ".
"Right?"
