Stay

People don't stay,
They don't want to,
Like memories don't fade,
When you want them to,
Like that particular song,
Reminds me of you,
Every time it plays,
Of how you tore apart my walls,
Exactly like you tore apart my heart.

You know I've watched people who left,
Come back and leave again,
Along with parts of my sanity,
Like organs of my body,
Making me feel incomplete,
Hollow, and no amount of tears,
Is able to fill the void,
Like you keep on smoking cigarettes,
Despite me asking you not to,
Playing your voice notes,
In loops, of soft curls falling,
On your forehead, and myriads of wrinkled memories,
Like on the corner of your eyes,
Whenever you smiled,
Buried beside the decayed rose you gave,
But fragrance of your skin hasn't left,
Like touch of your lips didn't fade,
But I wonder when this longing would,
Along with warm breaths over my body.
I seem to remember as they were,
And they keep coming back,
Like you, but they stay,
When I don't want to.

People don't stay,
They don't want to,
So when you come back next time,
Along with your memories,
Tell me you'd stay,
Because you want to.
