Chapter 5: Reunion
The Next Morning
After that eventful night, you holed up in an abandoned apartment building after robbing a restaurant of some food and other things for sustenance. You were currently sat outside on a window ledge staring down at everything below you as 'his' words were bouncing around in your mind.
"I never meant to do you wrong...I just didn't know what to do..." You furrowed your brows while clenching a left over piece of bread in your hands. "...I loved you..." You scoffed and threw the bread away in frustration.
"Damn that stupid old man! Saying stupid shit like that. Tch." You scratched your head in frustration and confusion as you looked down at the people below walked around minding their own business. "Well, let's walk around again today and see if there's anything that can give me some fun." You said as you stood up on the ledge and put one foot forward off the building before dropping to the ground below you.
As you neared ground level, you spun around in the air and landed on one knee like those heroes did in the TV shows you'd rarely watch. As you stood up, you cringed at the image of yourself shivered as the people on the sidewalk were in utter shock of seeing you just land on the ground out of no where.
"Yeah, that's definitely not my kind of landing style. How could anyone think that's cool? Weirdo's." You said as you walked on casually to find something to entertain you. "Well, I ran into the old bastard and my brothers, the only one I haven't seen yet was..." You furrowed your brows as you tried to remember your mother. "...What happened to you I wonder...did you abandon me as well...?" You mumbled as you decided to head back to see what you could find on her.
After a couple minutes of walking, you found your way back to the park and decided to take a rest on the park bench to take in the sun and fresh air. As you sat around with your arms spread atop the bench and your right leg resting on top of your other leg, you had your eyes closed and kept to yourself as best as you could, until you heard something stop in front of you. Raising a brow, you looked forward with one eye and found yourself staring a young girl dressed in a yellow and white sun dress with a white undershirt and black shoes. She had brown hair that reached to her middle area of her back and had her hands clasped together in front of her.
"What're ya doing?" You asked in confusion of her actions.
"U-Um...You're the mister that beat up those guys trying to get me that night...right?" She asked as you were confused at first, but then remembered the night you beat up those three goofballs.
"Ah, you're that brat that ran off, huh?" You asked as you sat up and brought your leg down as you fully looked at her now.
"Y-Yes. My name is A-Alicia Allenberg..." She said in a timid tone as you had a perplexed look on your face.
"Y-Yeah, sure." You said as the conversation fell silent between the two of you and you looked around before speaking up again. "W-Well, you here with ya Mom again? Or she do somethin' to send ya off runnin' again?" You asked as she instantly shook her head.
"I'm here with my big sister. I told her about what happened and she said that she'd like to meet you and thank you for saving me. Oh, and mommy's been going to get help ever since that night...She's trying to get better so she can be a better mommy." She explained as you just sat there and listened to whatever this 7 year old had to say.
The little girl stood there with her head low as she was too intimidated by your looks to meet her eyes with yours. She felt bad not being able to converse properly with you, but just then she felt a hand quickly ruffle her hair before getting pulled away.
"Don't cause too much trouble for your care takers. Else they'll toss ya out of your home." You said as she looked up to see you lookin' in a different direction. "Just be a nice ol' girl and you'll be fine." You said as she smiled from your response and act of kindness.
"You're a pretty nice old man for someone who looks real scary, huh?" She said as you shot your head over and stared at her with an annoyed look.
"H-Hey, what'd I just say? Calling someone old ain't nice, ya know?" You said as she giggled and plopped down next to you on the bench.
"It's fine. You wouldn't hurt me. You're too nice, old man." She laughed as your eye twitched in irritation.
"You little..." You held your fist up as it was shaky and she just laughed at the kind of reactions she got from you.
As she chatted up a storm about her favorite heroes and stuff, while you listened in annoyance about how much she loved heroes and huntsmen, a young teen girl wearing Beacon's uniform was spotted approaching in the corner of your eye. As you averted your gaze away from Alicia, she followed where you were looking and smiled when she saw the young teen as well.
"Ahh! Big Sis!" Alicia jumped from the bench and ran over as you stood up with a cautious look on your face.
"Tch, for a student of Beacon to be out here of all times. I hope she wasn't there when I beat those guys down. I better leave." You said as you were about to turn and walk off, but Alicia called out in a loud voice to you.
"Hey! Old man! Wait!" She yelled as you grew more irked and sighed as you turned around with your hands in your pocket.
"What?" You asked as she and the Beacon Girl walked up to you.
"This is my big sister, Cammie! Sis, this is the guy I told you about." She exclaimed in excitement as you turned to look at Cammie in full.
Cammie was almost a foot shorter than you and had long brown hair that up in a high pony tail with dark brown eyes and fairly light skin. She held her hands together in front of her as she bowed with what looked like a grateful smile as you raised your brow and looked around in confusion before turning back to her.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Cammie Allenberg. Thank you for protecting my sister when she was in danger." She said as you waved one of your hands at her.
"It's fine, I just happened to be there. Don't mind it." You said as she smiled at you.
"I go to school at Beacon, so it's hard to see my family at the moment. If you met my mother, then you might already get an idea of the situation..." Cammie said as you remembered their mother yelling at little Alicia. "She's getting help with her problems, I make sure of that. I had to work hard to get to where I was, and it was harder making sure that Alicia was able to go to school and eat warm meals every night. If anything happened to my little sister, I'm not sure I could go on any longer. If I could treat you to a meal or anything--." She tried to offer you a meal, but you raised your hand and turned your head away.
"Sorry, but I'm kinda busy at the moment. I appreciate the offer though--!" You stopped your self short as you turned your head to look behind her and off at the corner of a building next to the park, you saw Hiro and Gale, who had a bandage around his forehead, heading over while looking around.
"Cammie! Where are you?" Hiro's voice made Cammie and her sister turn around as Cammie raised her hand and waved to them.
"Over here! Oh, mister, by the way--huh?" Cammie grew a confused look when she turned around and saw that you had vanished completely from the area. "Where did he go?" She wondered while standing in place looking around at wherever you could have gone.
"That was close." You thought as you watched your brothers join Cammie from atop a roof before turning away. "Now, back to what I had planned..." You thought as you walked across the rooftops of Vale.
After traveling over the town and hopping from one building to the next, you stopped when you found yourself on a roof across from a hospital on the other side of the street. You crouched down and focused your vision while looking around the area. You scanned the open areas of the hospital grounds but didn't find the person you were looking for. After looking around the windows, you noticed a certain face you recognized from a long time ago. Sitting in a room that had its window barred off, your mother stared off with a longing look on her face that was filled with emptiness.
"Hmph, even though she wouldn't give me much attention, the old man leaving me for dead must have been enough to make her go crazy. Well, I guess she's an ok mother." You said as you glanced in another direction and saw a doctor taking a smoke break outside. "However, I still have a few words to exchange with her." You said as you leapt off building.
Your mother sat in her room that barely any furniture besides a bed, chair and night stand with a rose inside a vase, almost seemingly depressed and void of life. She wore a white patient's t-shirt and white pants with white slip on shoes. She leaned against the window cill and let out a sigh knowing what time it was for, as a knock came from her door before the sound of a lock turning filled her ears.
"Another day of the same questions, doctor?" Your mother asked while keeping her back to the door.
"You sound like you're ready to give up on life. Shall I help you with that?" She heard an unfamiliar voice and turned around in surprise and confusion when she saw you standing in the door way wearing a doctor's uniform. "You look like shit." You said while closing the door behind you and locking it.
"W-Who are you?" Your mother asked in confusion and intimidation.
"Hm? Ahh, I guess it's been so long you just came to accept the death of your third son. Well, hate to burst your bubble..." You said while pulling a chair across the floor with a screeching tone as your mother went wide-eyed when you sat down right in front of her with a smirk on your face. "...I ain't dead yet." You said to her.
"It can't be...the forest he said he took him to was full of grimm during the night. You can't be him." Your mother said as you chuckled.
"Hehe, yeah, I probably would've died, had it not been for that asshole student father dropped a long time ago. Garou was a dick, but I guess he had more feelings than my old man ever had." You said as she recognized your eyes finally.
"Y/N...?" She muttered as tears welled in her eyes.
"Ding! Ding! Ding! That's right! The son you hated the most has returned—!" You were cut off when your mother suddenly leaped towards you and hugged you tightly.
"Y/N! I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry!" Your mother sobbed as you were wide-eyed and confused on what was happening.
"H-Hey! Let me go! What are you doing all of sudden?!" You grabbed her by the shoulders and pushed her off of you as she landed on the bed. "Suddenly apologizing for all the shit you put me through, you have a lot of nerve." You said before growing a shocked look when you saw how much tears were falling from her face.
"I'm sorry...I'm sorry I was a terrible mother...!" She cried out as you didn't know what to say to her in the state she was currently in. "I wanted to love you, I truly did...but they forced us to do what we did..." Your mother sobbed.
"You can't fool me with that crap. What kind of parents would listen to someone who tells them to hate their own child? Either stop lying or I'll really end you here and now." You spat hateful statements to her.
"I'm not lying!" Your mother screamed out as you fell silent from her sudden outburst. "When you were born, me and your father were both happy when we first saw you. After you were delivered, the hospital took you to clean you up and run some test we asked them to run. During the test, there was something they noticed and notified certain authorities before talking to us. They said you were dangerous..." Your mother sobbed into her hands as you couldn't wrap your head around a single thing she said.
"What the hell are you talking about? Dangerous? How can a newborn possibly be dangerous?" You asked her.
"They didn't tell us. They had given us a choice, but it was never really our choice. Either kill you by injection while you were a baby, or we get arrested and they take you away. When we found out, me and your father ran with you. We lived on the outskirts of Vale, so no one had ever really seen us. We changed names and kept our past a secret, to try and raise you. However, as you grew up, we tried to find out what was wrong with you and we went to almost every doctor you could find in Vale. They kept turning us away saying they had no answer, but they always looked scared after taking looks at you. Then, after finding a doctor near the lower ends of the city who had a darker reputation, he told us something we couldn't believe...we didn't want believe..." She said while raising her hands up and grabbing her hair as she remembered the day of that doctor's visit.
"What did he say?" You asked nervously.
"He said that...you were going to become a grimm one day..." Your mother broke down once more and cried as this all sounded too crazy for you. "That's why your father refused to train you like he did your brothers...he wanted to avoid anything that could trigger violence in you. It proved useless though when we learned you kept getting into fights at school. Your aura is slowly turning darker and darker, and eventually you are going to see physical changes as well." Your mother spoke in sorrow before growing wide-eyed when she heard you begin to laugh.
"Ahahaha! Haha! Ha..." Your laughter died down as you looked her in the eye with the smirk you had on before. "Really? Is that so? Well, I guess I already knew the path I was going to be headed down in life then anyways." You chuckled.
"Y/N...?" Your mother stared at you with confusion.
"Listen, mom, hate to burst your bubble, but your way of keeping me away from violence only led to depression. Then when the old fart abandoned me and I was found by Garou, I guess he helped me hone my hatred for everyone and turned me into this powerful weapon that I am now." You said while looking down at the palms of your hands. "A monster is what I was going to become, huh? Then, I guess I shouldn't disappoint anyone or their expectations of me." You said while closing your hands into fists. "I'll become a monster that even the grimm will have to bow down to! I'll show everyone of these losers in this town who they should be afraid of." You said before feeling arms wrap around your stomach as your mother was on her knees with a begging look.
"Please, Y/N...I just learned that the son I wanted to love the same as the other two, has just returned to me. I don't wanna lose you again! Don't do this!" Your mother pleaded with you before a loud knock came from the door.
"Hey! Who are you!? Open the door!" A security guard tried forcing open the door as you turned towards the barred window.
"Sorry, but I do whatever I wanna do. No one, not even my brothers, can stop me now." You said while pushing your mother to her bed and walking over to the window.
You looked down at the night stand next to you before picking it up and using it to smash the glass of the window to pieces. After tossing it aside and clearing away some of the glass, you grabbed the center bars of the window and used all your strength as you began to pry the steel bars apart to make an opening. Your mother watched in shock of your strength as you pried an opening into the bars and huffed a breath before tossing away the doctor's clothing you had. The door burst open as you grinned and turned around, dashing towards the security as he was caught off guard and fumbled for his night stick. You flew at him with a drop kick as your feet smashed against his face and you turned your sights back towards the window as you pushed off the security guard and went flying through the window and rolling onto the grass below. Your mother looked out the window with worry as you leaped into the air and onto the hospital perimeter fence before jumping out and scaling a building across the street. You turned back and looked at her for a few moments before giving her the middle finger and running off. Your mother broke down crying and ashamed as a mother while people stormed her room to check on the situation. Meanwhile, you walked across the rooftops of Vale with a perplexed face due to what you had just heard.
"They neglected me and left me for dead, because someone said I'd turn into a monster later..." You stopped in your tracks with a raised brow before laughing out loudly and continuing your stroll. "Ha! What kind of bullshit is that? Ahaha! I didn't think I'd hear such a bullshit story in my life. Ahhh, well, what to do now?" You talked to yourself before shrugging your shoulders. "Guess I'll go steal some dinner, it's getting kinda dark." You thought as you went along your way in search of some food.
After walking along the roof tops in search of a place to steal food from, night fell and the moon shined down on the city as you were perched on one of the buildings across from a fancy restaurant. You looked through the glass window on the side of the restaurant and the food inside that the people were eating piqued your interest. You flipped over the edge of the building you were on and slid down a rain pipe before bouncing your feet on the ground as you walked across the street casually while cracking our neck ready to tear the place up. However, before you could walk in, a certain voice called out to you.

"Ah, it's you, old man!" You stopped in your tracks when you recognized the voice and turned to your right to see Alicia and her older sister walking towards you. "What are you doing here?" Alicia asked while running up to you.
"You..." You looked down in confusion of how to interact with the young girl.
"Who would have thought we'd meet again so soon, mister?" Cammie asked as you were unsure on what to say. "Are you perhaps thinking of eating here? Did you make a reservation? This place gets pretty full and you can't get in without a reservation." Cammie said.
"No, I was just..." You trailed off trying to think of something to say as the Beacon student leaned towards you with a smile.
"Well, I reserved a booth for me and my little sister, but now that we've run into one another, why don't you have dinner with us?" Cammie offered with a sincere smile.
"N-Nah, I was only looking, I don't think anything really fancied my taste." You said as you turned around and began to walk off.
"They have an amazing ribeye steak." Cammie called out as you stopped in the middle of your tracks and she grinned knowing you took the bait. "It's juice levels are out of this world. You could really die happy after eating just one bite." She said in an alluring tone as she noticed your ears turning red. "Come on, don't you wanna sink your teeth into that juicy piece of meat~?" She asked as you groaned and turned back around to walk towards them.
"Alright, fine! I'll have dinner with you!" You said in defeat.
"Alright! The old man's gonna have dinner with us!" Alicia cheered.
"Shut up, brat!" You scolded Alicia as she just laughed at you while the two of you walked inside the restaurant and Cammie giggled as well while following.
"Welcome." A waiter behind a stand bowed his head while opening up a book list.
"We have a reservation under Allenberg." Cammie said while adjusting her purse over her shoulder.
"Hmmm...Ah, found you." The waiter said as he finished scrolling through the list and grabbed three menu's and three sets of utensils before gesturing to the dining room.
Walking inside, you felt all sorts of stares fall onto you specifically since you noticed while going through the dining room, everyone was sort of dressed up for the experience. You felt like an outcast with such plain clothing on, but deciding to hold back on ripping all the patrons of the restaurant a new one, you bit your tongue down and kept your cool as you followed Cammie and Alicia to the booth. After sitting down, you took a look at the menu, only to be confused when you felt someone shift the spot next to you and turned to see Alicia had plopped down with you on the same side.
"W-What are you doing?" You asked her in confusion.
"I wanted to sit next to you, old man." Alicia smiled at you.
"You know, call me old man one more time...I'll show you what this old man can do." You said with an irked grin on your face as Alicia just laughed.
"Your face looks funny like that! Ahahaha!" Alicia laughed.
"Why you...take this!" You launched a tickle attack on her as she laughed maniacally.
Cammie could only watch with a smile as this is the first time she's seen her little sister have this much fun in a long time. She let the scene before her play out a little more before cutting in and asking whether or not the place was a restaurant or a play ground. After the two of you were scolded, you and the two girls you accompanied all took a look at the menu, but you stared up at Cammie, noticing how pretty she looked in the somewhat dim setting of the dining room.
"I was gonna blast into this place and grab whatever food I could find, but I guess this makes things easier..." You thought before a strange tingling feeling filled your stomach. "What is this? Am I nervous? Don't be ridiculous..." You thought before glancing back at Cammie and feeling your cheeks heat up a bit. "...but, what do guys even say in a situation like this...? Fuck, this is a shitty coincidence that I happen to run into these girls again..." You said before hiding your face behind your menu, but Cammie noticed you staring at her and smiled, being thankful for this coincidence of meeting the person who saved her little sister again.
