Chapter Thirteen

When Vanellope and Felix arrive at the third Game Central Station, they notice it looks exactly the same as the station they're from but with different games- and there's a lot of empty outlets in this station.

"This must be just an extra power strip or something," Felix says after Vanellope slows down the kart. She slowly drives down the station so they can read the few game titles and find Fix-It Felix Jr.

"Here it is," Vanellope says. She stops the kart and Felix hops out.

"Thanks for the ride," Felix smiles as he pats Vanellope on the head. Vanellope's staring at the socket to Felix's game, which concerns him. "You okay?" he asks.

"I just..." Vanellope trails off, "I thought Ralph was gone forever, and now I know he's here... right inside that game--" Her voice breaks and her eyes begin to water. Vanellope glances up at Felix, whose looking at her, and she wipes a few tears away with her sleeve. "It's a miracle, Felix. He's okay, and you got your game back. I'm just so happy."

"Me too," Felix adds. He bends over a bit to hug Vanellope again. When they break apart Felix says, "Come here when the arcade closes tonight. I'm sure Ralph will be overjoyed to see you again."

"Okay," Vanellope smiles. Felix then turns on his heels and starts walking toward the outlet.

"Hey," Vanellope says. Felix turns around to face her again. She adds, "Tell Ralph I missed him."

Felix grins, "Will do." He tips the brim of his hat to her before he rushes into his game. Vanellope sits in her kart, watching Felix run down the cord until he vanishes into the darkness. Then she turns her kart around and drives back the way she came.

Felix keeps running down the cord. He wonders why he didn't tell Vanellope to drive him to the apartment building. Maybe he just got too excited. Or perhaps he wasn't in a rush to get to his game because it's getting unplugged because of being unpopular in the first place. He's almost to his game anyhow, so he keeps running.

When he makes his way out of the plug he slows down until he comes to a stop. Felix looks all around him and smiles. Everything is the same as it was before it was unplugged. The stars are sparkling high above in the night, the apartment building is standing tall where it always is, and every other 8-bit object is where it is to be.

Felix walks over to the screen to the game console. There's a much different view of the arcade now. Felix can see that this game is right across from Super Mario Bros. and beside that game is Galaga. He can also see the prize counter and a banner hanging up on the ceiling that advertises Hero's Duty. Also, Felix never knew how big this arcade really is. It impresses him.

"Felix?" a voice says. Felix turns around and looks up. Deana is looking down from one of the apartment windows.

"Hi, Deana," Felix smirks and gives her a little wave. Deana flashes Felix a huge smile before she turns her head to the inside of the building.

"Mary! Mary, you're not going to believe this! Felix is back!" she exclaims. Immediately Mary rushes to the window and looks down at Felix with Deana.

"Hey, Mary," Felix smirks again and gives her a wave, too. Just then a quarter is inserted into their game. Felix looks at the screen, astonished. A boy is actually going to play their game and the arcade just opened. "I'll talk to you all later, okay?"

"Got it," Deana says with a little too much excitement. She closes the window and Felix dashes to his starting position before the gamer stands up from inserting a quarter.

Felix stands off-screen in the shadows. His heart is thudding against his chest repeatedly. This is too much for him to take in in such little time. His game got unplugged, he thought his friends were dead forever and yet here they are. Here's the game. Everything's okay like the world reset itself so everything could go back to the way it was before. Felix can't stop smiling. Vanellope was right. It is a miracle.

Now Felix ponders. Is the game still getting unplugged tomorrow or did Mr.Litwak change his mind? Hopefully he did. Felix hated the devastating, awful thing that happened yesterday. Sure it was only a day or so without his game, but he thought that was it. He thought neither the game was ever coming back nor the Nicelanders and Ralph. But, it's all here-right in front of him. Even if the game is to be unplugged Tuesday, Felix will be some what fine as long as the Nicelanders and especially Ralph are okay.

"I'M GONNA WRECK IT!" a voice shouts which snaps Felix out of his daydream in an instant. Felix puts a hand over his mouth and gasps. There's Ralph, wrecking the building like nothing bad ever happened. He's okay. This makes Felix beyond excited. He can't wait to see the look on Vanellope's face tonight. She'll be so happy to see Ralph again.

"Fix-It Felix!" the Nicelanders call from the windows of the apartment building. Felix takes a deep breath, exhales slowly, and runs to the building to say his famous line, 'I can fix it!' The game begins.

Happy! A very happy chapter indeed. But, it's still not over. The story has a lot more to tell.
