Chapter Six

Heyyy... This is where the drama starts (and when Tamora finally shows up in the story!) This will be a little bit of what the WIR fans out there call, 'Hero's Cuties'. Hope you like it.

Felix hears footsteps on the staircase. As the footsteps become louder and louder, Felix's heart beats faster and faster. The door knob to the bedroom door turns and the door opens. Tamora steps into the bedroom, still in her armor and she's holding her hand gun.

"Stupid piece of junk," she mumbles to herself. She has her eyes focused on the gun in her hand. She doesn't even realize Felix is here until he clears his throat.

Tamora looks up from her gun. Her blonde bangs dangle in front of her right eye. "Hey, Felix," she greets.

"Evening," Felix says without any enthusiasm.

"Can I borrow your hammer? My gun jammed up today."

"Sure, it's in my tool belt on the dresser."

"Thanks," Tamora shakes the gun and hits it, "this never broke before. I don't know what's wrong with--"

BANG!!

Felix shrieks and shields his face. The gun was pointed right at him when it went off, but luckily the bullet shot passed Felix's head by an inch.

"Never mind! The gun's okay," Tamora says cheerfully. Felix slowly turns around with wide eyes to see a bullet hole in the wall. No need to fix the wall. His game will be gone in three days.

"So," Tamora slides the gun into the holster on her belt and heads over to the closet. "How was your day, Fix-It?" She opens the closet door and pulls out a gray tank top and black sweatpants to sleep in.

"It..." Felix trails off and looks down at his feet, "...had a bit of a downer..."

When he looks up again, he catches a glimpse of Tamora already undressing, so he simply turns around to be the gentleman he is-even though this isn't something he hasn't seen before.

"What happened? The turbo pies were your least favorite flavor today?" Tamora jokes while sliding her armor off and tucking it away in the closet.

"No," Felix chuckles.

"You got hit by one too many bricks and got knocked out on the job?"

"No...again."

"Well, I give up. What happened?" Tamora slips on her black sweatpants and gray top. Felix glances behind him to see if Tamora is decent, and since she is, he turns to face her.

"You know how it's common for games to get unplugged eventually?" he asks.

"Uh huh..." Tamora scrunches her eyebrows together.

"And you know how my game's really lucky to be around for over thirty years?"

"Yes...?"

"Well, I--" Felix's voice cracks. He takes a second to pull himself together-to stay calm. "I'm not so lucky anymore."

"Would you care to explain?" Tamora tilts her head to the side. She's slightly confused.

"What I'm trying to say is, this game won't be here for long," Felix mentions.

"Don't say that, Felix, you're game's doing great--"

"No, it's not actually. I haven't attracted a decent amount of gamers every week in months. The kids lost interest, and for that, this game's getting unplugged in three days-and honest to Litwak, I blame myself!"

"Why would you do that?" Tamora asks unbelievingly.

"I don't know! I just do!" Felix raises his voice and his blue eyes water. "I don't know what to do, Tammy. I didn't even tell the Nicelanders yet because I don't have the heart. And I don't know where they're gonna go or if there even is anywhere for them to go besides hanging around Game Central Station. And I can't say goodbye to this place because I lived here all my life! I-I can't go through with this! I can't tell the Nicelanders--"

Tamora immediately kneels down and hugs Felix tightly. She's not good with emotional things because of her tough-as-nails drill sergeant programming, but sometimes a simple hug and a kiss on the forehead can calm her husband down.

Felix holds onto his wife while Tamora runs her fingers through his hair which she knows is something Felix enjoys whenever she does it. There is a moment of silence until Felix relaxes.

"Just go to bed," Tamora suggests by whispering in his ear. "You had a long day." She places a soft kiss on his face, and even though it doesn't make him smile, his face still flushes with his honey glows.

Wow! I did a lot of editing on this chapter.
