As i stated in the last chapter, Kaiyo's height was 5'4.97"(5ft 4.97 inches) which in cm is around 165cm(accurately it's 165.024cm),so it makes him shorter than remi (the person in the middle right who is 5'5", 5ft 5inches) by 0.76 inches , Anyways, Hope you enjoy the chapter!)

Arlo's POV

 "It's nice to meet you too, i've heard about you around school, quite the talk if you ask me...what exactly are you doing up here?" he asks as he pulls a can of coka cola from his bag, opens, and drinks it.

"I should be asking you the same thing, this area is for Royals only, no commoners are supposed to be allowed up here" i reply as he stares at me. His gaze held no fear, or hesitation "well, that rule i couldn't give a rat's ass about. Besides, If you're from boston like i am, you learn not to take shit from anyone" he says taking another drink from the can.

'Boston....just like that imbecile, John' i thought to myself "like John, am i correct?" I asked him, in which he did a spit tick and gave out a coughing fit, almost choking on the carbonated drink "Wait John's Here!? Holy shit is he alright?" He asks me, showing panic and concern.

"Yes, he's fine...though the constant beatings are a give or take" i responded. He facepalmed letting out a groan "john, you idiot..." Kaiyo gave out a shaky sigh "i'm not surprised... after what happened 2 years ago..Poor guy couldn't stop having nightmares"

This statement had me intrigued....just what had happened those years back?

 "How do you know him exactly?" I asked him, walking over and leaning on the metal railing that prevented anyone from falling from the roof "Well, i'd used to help his dad with shopping since some times he couldn't carry most of it at times. His home became my second home, My escape, since...my mom was pretty ruthless back then with punishments for the most minimalistic of things"

I listened carefully, gaining new information on the current subject at hand "we'd hang out alot and i'd even help him with homework since he was homeschooled at the time, annd it helped that he'd give me self defence lessons in return, it was a fair exchange" he just looker up at me with warm smile

Kaiyo's POV

"Why're you asking so much about the guy anyways?" I asked, and he looked away stubbornly "no reason...i'm just wondering why you would waste your time with a cripple" he responded

But that part caught me off guard completely...John a cripple?...That wasn't right at all. But despite the nagging feeling in my gut, i put it off to the side

 "Because even cripples are worth fighting for, i thought that kings like you would understand that, guess there's some things that don't change huh?" i responded and as far as i could tell, he looked calm but his eyes gave off a sign of annoyance giving off a blue glow.

 "What do you mean by that exactly?" He asked in annoyance "Most of the hierarchy in schools like this don't do shit for the people who are below them, they're supposed to set an example for everyone, like that zeke guy. It pisses me off alot when idiots like that don't do jack shit even though they're higher levels"

 "And how would you know? It sounds like you're insulting the multiple kings, jacks, aces and queens of the other schools" he continued and i got up grabbing my bag, chugging the rest of my drink down then tossing it in the recycle bin. 

"Cause i used to be the king back at my old school, And i didn't give Anyone shit like this, i actually cared to help students in the lower years with homework and training with their ability even though i was shorter than most of them even if they were cripples or not, i actually set an example for people not using fear to get my own way, why am i even talking to you? It'll never get through your thick skull" 

I heard the school bell as i'd ended my rant, it felt good to actually get it out. As much as it sounded harsh, someone had to say it cause. This world we're in is going down one hell of a rabbit hole. I left, just leaving Arlo alone on the roof as he stared in shock, then he glared in outrage that someone talked back to him in such a way.

I didn't really care at that moment, cause i needed to get to my uncle for a check up long overdue. Yes my uncle is Doctor Darren, the guy who everyone is scared of at this school.

I wasn't afraid of him though, i don't know why, i just never was.

*Timeskip to later in the day*

John's POV

I drank my mango boba as seraphina sat across from me. We were at Woaba boba cause, it had the best boba drinks i've had, though i wasn't prepared for who i saw next.

kaiyo walked into the place, hair down in a vest top and jeans, he looked around til i called out to him "Hey Kaiyo! That you dude?" I asked, getting his attention and he came over to us.

"yup, that's me, it's been a while" he replies and we hug for a bit before letting go "you're the guy who beat zeke right?" Seraphina asked , which, Me and kaiyo laughed "Wait you what!?" i exclaimed.

Kaiyo laughs, whilst sitting with us "yup, that jerk deserved it!" he replied, while ordering a mango boba. "I heard yelling earlier today, you alright?" I asked him, he gave out an annoyed sigh "yeah, i met the king of the school, Asslo" he responded, "you argued with arlo?" seraphina asks amused

"Yup, and i went on a rant, can't blame me tho, someone had to say that crap", i smiled "what'd you think of him then?" I asked, just as his drink arrived and he thanked the waitress, paying for the drink and then giving a $5 tip to her before she walked off with the tray in hand, a slight skip in her step.

His face turned slightly pink "What's there to say? He's a jackass....with nice hair.." his voice got a bit quieter making me laugh "no way you like him!" i say smirking, his face turned bright red and looked away "why would i like a tall, lanky blonde like him? He's the most annoying,obnoxiously handsome king i've ever met!" 

He instantly covered his mouth which it was seraphina's turn to laugh "isn't that ironic?, first day here and you like the asshole of the school, the person you already hate, and, are you jealous, john?" she states and he looks away, acting like a tsundere "n-no i don't! He's a stupid, obnoxious, tall ass bastard!" He responds.

 "i'm not jealous sera, and Calm down dude, besides, who're you staying with anyways?" I asked him, just as he had a drink "some shaggy red head named Blyke and some other guy, isen i think?" He questioned "huh, the jack and the computer lackie? That sounds fun" she says sarcastically but kaiyo responds with "You mean jackass right?" 

All three of us shared a laugh together then finished our drinks. "Wanna come shopping with us?" Sera offered, he smiled brightly "sure! Besides, someone has to make dinner, i saw a few takeout boxes at the dorm so, I don't wanna go eating that stuff unless it's a movie night or all-night study session"

i laughed "Oh really? Like that one time you were doing it online and drank 7 cups of coffee?" He punched me playfully in the arm, earning me a playful smirk from him "Shut up, it helped you didn't it?"

I guess some things never change.
