So this is something my friend and I wrote for English.

It was the year 1783 and peace was being established between the new United States and the United Kingdom, with the US becoming independent. This, at least, is what the world thinks happened. There was a secret clause in the treaty that was never to be shared with the public. This clause states that while it may seem that the US is independent, the UK and the Royal Family still have total control over it. Because this clause was never shared with the public, the public believes the United States of America is an independent country. A country which prides itself on its own independence. The people who continue to live here, in this diverse land, are descendants from the prisoners of this war. The War of 1812 was not a new, declared war, but rather another rebellion. The American Civil War was the final rebellion, and the most complex one. The northern states had, by this time, accepted their fate and stayed loyal to the British Crown. They hoped this would allow them to become completely free sooner. The southern states, however, were not yet ready to admit defeat. The British Crown's decision to abolish slavery in the states was the true last straw for most southern states. The British had to make it seem like if they were to intervene, they would help the south to avoid any suspicion. When you consider all of these details, the fact that the United States is not real is irrefutable.
