There's team 7, There he is. After so long, I final-Wait, Did he just run away from me? That fuck. I'm gonna castrate him.

I stifled the shout that threatened to escape my mouth. Annoyed, I walked up to the 3 remaining members of team 7.

"Excuse me, you're a genin team from Konoha correct? I'm here for the chunin exams and seem to have gotten lost. Could you point me in the direction of the academy? I can make my way to my hotel room from there." I explained to their sensei.

"Of course, it's right in front of the hokage monument, nearby the hokage tower." He told me while also pointing in the general direction, as if I couldn't see the giant faces on the side of the mountain.

"Thank you! I hope to see your team there as well." I told him cheerfully.

Oh, I certainly do...

I walked off back to my hotel to meet back up with my team.

I swear to god, you won't escape me in the chunin exams.

Basuto's P.O.V

I walked towards the entrance to the acadamy. This is where the chunin exams are happening, and also where I have to be very careful not to fuck everything up.

Though if they are here, then this might be harder then I thought.

I saw sasuke at the entrance, likely waiting for me and naruto. We've still got time, so I hope even Naruto will be able to make it on time, he does in Canon, so I hope that doesn't change now.

I considered taking down the genjutsu I have on, just to see the looks on everyone else faces, but decided against it. It wouldn't be worth the attention.

I took the time to mention the genjutsu to Sasuke, letting him know how fragile it is and its extent. Communication is key, and it was better if Sasuke knew the full capabilities of it and how far it can be pushed. That and how he'll be able to see through it with the sharingan, but that was pretty obvious.

Speaking of dojutsu... theres at least 2 people here with the byakugan, more if Hinata has Hyuuga teammates she's coming here with. If she doesn't show up at all, then that's certainly a plus. At least one less person that can see through my genjutsu.

Naruto's arrival breaks me out of my thoughts. Having lost my train of thought, I sighed and walked into the academy with them.

We approached the group of inexperienced genin on the second floor, and Sasuke was quick to point out the fact that they are on the wrong floor.

While not telling them would lower the competition, I need all the konoha 12 and me to make it to the preliminary matchs for my plan to work. And that won't happen unless theres some extra fodder for us to take the scrolls from.

"You there." I heard Neji call out sasuke.

Thank kami his Byakugaan isn't activated

They make a small conversation that I don't pay attention to. I leaned against a nearby wall, knowing this was going to take awhile.

"Oh hello." I heard tenten say next to me.

I only nodded my head in aknowledgement.

"So your teamates are the last uchiha and that loud blond kid? You don't look like the kind of person who enjoys attention. That's some bad luck with the team placement." She said.

"You have Might Gai and Rock Lee."
I shot back.

"Uuuughhhh, tell me about it! How do you even know who they are anyways?" She asked.

"Your sensei is supposedly 'rivals' with our own, and he's mentionned him and his pupil a few times." I responded.

"That makes sense. I guess it's not really hard to make them out when their defining features are bowl cuts and green spandex.

While myself and tenten were talking, the sasuke 'beatdown' was happening.

"I knew he would lose." I mentionned offhandedly to her as I left with my teammates.

We noticed kakashi at the door, supposedly there to show his support and wish us luck.

"Good luck you three, it will be a hard exam but I believe in my little genin. Oh, and bāsuto, I'd be wary of hyuugas. They'll easily be able to see through your genjutsu with their byakugaan activated." He warned me.

I nodded my head letting him know I understood.

Yeah, no shit. Thanks sensei for pointing out the obvious

I headed inside to see everyone gathered around kabuto, likely looking at his ninja info cards.

"-ara of the sand, and bāsuto hanadji."
I heard sasuke ask.

Nope. Who knows what classified shit he's got on me
"Who the hell is basto?" I heard Kiba say.

"As long as I get to see it first." I told sasuke, who just now noticed my presence.

"Why?"

"I have my own secrets to keep." I told sasuke.

"Alright, rock lee, a hidden le..." I stopped listening to kabuto at that point, only distantly paying attention to make sure they didn't show my card without my knowledge.

I stared at the rest of the examinees, judging each one.

Near the end I saw a girl in the back corner and immediately sent my attention back at our group.

Damn, she's here. Looks like I'm fucked.

I heard kabuto say my name, as he passed me the card.

Bāsuto Hanadji

Age: 12?

Shinobi of: konohagakure

Birthplace: hanadji clan, lightning country

Completed missions: 30 D-rank, 1
C/A-rank

I read the next bit of the note, it was just a small paragraph... about something I definitely didn't want them to know...

"How'd you get this info?" I asked kabuto, knowing he would know the info I meant.

"You didn't pay enough attention when turning them in." He told me.

The rest of the konoha 12 looked confused at our interaction.

I discreetly rolled my eyes, and ripped off the bit at the end. Before giving it back to kabuto, and burning the bit I still had with a minuscule fire jutsu.

They looked at me weirdly before kiba spoke up for them.

"What the hell was that man?" He asked.

Naruto, probably thinking it was something else, likely my revival, answered for me.

"He can have his secrets ya know!"

"What a drag. I was hoping to get to know more about him." Shikamaru said lazily.

"I'm still reading the rest of the card he didn't burn." Kabuto mentioned, if only to defuse the escalating tension.

I once again don't bother to acknowledge him seeing as everything else on that was perfectly fine.

I waited patiently for Ibbiki to show up, though I did make certain to slip 2 pieces of paper into each of my teammates pockets.

Ibbiki finally showed up, and diffused the 'fight' going on between Kabuto and the sound ninja.

We all take a seat, awaiting further instructions.

Ibbiki explains the rules of the test, meanwhile I make sure that my 2 idiot's of teammates know that the paper is there.

I'm sitting in the very front row, directly in front of Ibiki.

I faintly hear him say something about being given orders to watch some more carefully then others.

Damn hokage, he set this up for it to be much harder for me.

I quickly gave both my teammates a glance just before the exam started, discreetly putting a genjutsu on them to make them want to check their back pocket.

I heard Ibiki say the words to start, and immediately got to work.

I copied all the work that I memorized off the sheet I saw a few days ago, and finish within 15 minutes.

I felt one of my genjutsu break, knowing sasuke just looked in his back pocket.

I idly remember what I put on it,

Answers from Bāsuto

It then proceeds to tell him all the answers.

I feel his gaze on my back, silently glaring and questioning me. ignoring it, I look straight towards Ibbiki as he looks towards my finished paper and smirked.

Ibbiki smirking is not a good sign, but I suppose I could have done it a little slower. Not like it really matters.

Who knows what the hokage had told him. I doubt it could be anything good. Possibly making it purposefully harder for me? Or maybe it was something else entirely.

It doesn't matter, with me being so close to him, I could use the reflection of his hitai-atai to look at the rest of the class. I could tell that most had figured out by now that the answer was to cheat. I had guessed he would do it, but I saw sasuke using his sharingan to cheat and see if the answers I had given were untrustworthy. Naruto had also checked his back pocket, and was now 'discretely' copying all the answers down.

That's going to earn us at least minus 2 points for cheating. Whatever, it's not like they even mattered in the first place.

I wasn't all to worried about a certain fact about this test though. In truth, we have a 50/50 chance of success and failure.

Despite what it seems in the anime, it's proven in the filler with ibiki's little brother that he was just as likely to fail those that stayed as he was to pass. Infact I'd say the only reason he didnt fail them is because of Naruto's speach.

Whether to leave the class after the 10th question or to stay, it's completely up to Ibbiki which one he decides. Either way it dosen't matter, if we stay or go through. If we go, I enact my original plan, if it's the other, nobody important makes it to the finals, meaning the invasion won't happen.

I find it funny that the entire invasion's chance of success is in this one moment. The entire plan fails if gaara doesn't make it to the finals. Ain't that a funny thought

While idly thinking, I accidentally catch a glimpse of her in the back of the class.

Oh, right. That may be a problem. I may have to add a team...

I casted a small genjutsu on the person next to me, making them stop the latest attempt at cheating that would have gotten him kicked out. I was fully aware that it would count to my total as a cheat as I was sure Ibbiki felt me cast it. I nod to him as I finalize the genjutsu, ensuring that he didn't cheat again.

Ibbiki nodded back, although much more discreetly. Probably thinking I did it to help him not fail, as the kid I
'Saved' was a fellow konoha shinobi. I would never risk everything that's going on just to save one kid. That would be rather idiotic and stupid.

With nothing else to do, I idly think back to the ninja info card Kabuto had, and the part I had burned.

Has turned in 16 C-rank or higher bounties prior to entering Konoha at 8
