Fourth Life prt:5

So it begins.

A whole month of training. So many things to test. So many things to work out.

Now, knowing my opponent, I'm going to need to see at least one of their clansmen at some point, hopefully one I know. I need to make sure all of their canon abilities are acurate, and ensure they don't have anymore that they haven't revealed yet.

That will have to wait though, as my only option is currently in the hospital, so instead I decided meet up with Jade.

"Yo Bāsu." Jade greeted me as I reached the edge of the clearing she was sitting in.

I nodded my head in greeting, then sat down next to her. We sat in the clearing under a comfortable silence, simply enjoying the others presence. Unfortunately, we could not just sit there all day.

"We really should decide what to do about Yoshi and Sasuke. The seals I put on them will probably only last for a few more days, and Sasuke will be leaving for training with kakashi before then." I said, starting the conversation.

She looked up at the sky for a moment, pondering, before looking back at me.

"Well, we don't have very many options. The first and simplest is just lie and say none of it was actually true, and that we just Joking."

"Unfortunately, it won't work, they'd question why I put the seals on them if it was all just a joke. And we certainly weren't really speaking in a joking manner." I replied, shooting down our first option.

She nodded her head, once again looking back at the clouds.

"Exactly what I was thinking. Our second option is too murder them and make it look like an accident." She stated, an expression of complete seriousness on her face.

Despite that, it didnt last long, we both cracked a smirk, Jade even chuckling a bit.

"Alright alright, our next actual option is to just tell them the truth. And by truth, I mean, partial truth. They obviously wouldn't believe we were sent from another world to stop a great catastrophe from happening in the future. Our conversation was mostly about Kami and the... jinshuriken?"

"Jinchuriki."

"Right, that. So we can just claim that Kami isn't litteral god, just a very powerful person who calls themself a god. Then I'll let you handle the jinwhatever." She finished explaining.

I thought about it for a moment. It was certainly our most viable option. I couldn't really think of a better way of doing it.

"Sounds like a plan to me. We should probably go seek them out now, before they're too caught up with training." I suggested, only to get turned down immediately.

"No, not yet. Yoshi is still visiting Sachi at the hospital, and you said Sasuke wasn't leaving that soon. We still have time to talk, and I need to you to help me catch up with canon."

"Sounds good, but let's switch to English now. Even if someone was listening in on our conversation, though I'm fairly certain there wasn't, they wouldn't really get much out of it. If someone in this world were to know what is soon to come, that could be a very large problem." I explained to her, switching to English.

She nodded her head, looking around them for any potential eavesdroppers out of habit.

"Alright, sound like a good idea. From what I can tell, what we're trying to stop is a future war right?" She asked.

I raised an eyebrow at her.

"Yes actually, the fourth shinobi war, how do you know that? I thought you stopped watching after the chunin exams?" I responded, curious of her answer.

She grinned at me, and responded in an overly cheerful tone.

"You've got Kami to thank for that again. When I first met her, I asked if she could show how the cannon story went, but she said she couldn't tell me, and implementing memories or knowledge in my head would be overstepping her boundaries. Not sure why litteral god has boundaries, but that's besides the point. Despite that, she could bring every memory I have that has to do with naruto up to the surface. So she wasn't giving me information, just refreshing the memories I already had. One of them happened to be you talking about how awsome the war arc was, and how awesome it was to see everyone fighting." She explained to me, and I just sighed.

Of course its kami, when is it not kami?

"Well, that explains that, you said you wanted me to explain the timeline right? Well, we're going to do a quick skim over most of it, and if anything that needs to be further explained comes up, I will explain it. So, the next thing that's going to happen is everybody's training arcs, the the final exam is going to start, and during that time Suna along with Sound are going to attack konoha."

In the end, it took most of the day to explain all the relevant parts of the plot to Jade, and it was around dinner when I finally finished. When her stomaque growled, I laughed before inviting her over to my apartment to have dinner. As great as more time to talk with her would have been, she and the rest of her team were going to discuss training and such over dinner, so she had to go meet up with them. I told her it was fine, and waved her farewell before heading back to my apartment on my own.

It was an uneventful walk back, and soon I had reached the front door to my apartment. Before I could unlock and open it, I felt a presence appear behind me.

"Hokage-sama has requested your presence immediately."

Ah, anbu. Seems Hiruzen wants another talk with me.

"Of course, please, would you mind bringing us both there?" I asked him. His only response was to place a hand on my shoulder, and we both disappeared in a swirl of leaves.

We reappeared in the middle of the hokage office. I bowed to Hiruzen while taking a note of the other occupants of the room.

Kakashi stood lazily on the left side of the room, while Danzo stood to right of the hokage.

"Please, no need for such formalities Bāsuto-kun." He said to me with a light smile and wave of his hand.

I nodded and raised my head.

"I want to congratulate you on making it to the final stage of the exam despite the... disadvantage you had." He congratualated.

I stopped him before he could continue further.

"Shimura-Sama is aware of the situation right?" I asked, already knowing the answer.

The Sandaime nodded his head.

"I'm no longer the physical age you last saw my body at. As you probably know, our team was attacked by Orochimaru, during that battle he managed to kill me once, and when I was revived my physical body was about 8 years older." I explained to him.

He nodded his head in understanding.

"Could you release the henge for a moment for me?" He asked gently.

I nodded and stopped the flow of chakra around me that at this point had become second nature. The image of a 12 year old me faded out of existence, and in its place, a 16 year old version of myself appeared.

While kakashi raised his eyebrow slightly at my 'transformation', no other reaction were made evident on the shinobi's faces infront of me. I'd expect nothing less from 3 of the most experienced shinobi in the village.

"So, this is your 5th life correct? You have died 4 times now. I must say, this ability you have is quite powerful, but what did it cost? Surely it wasn't free?" Danzo asked, joining in on the conversation.

The atmosphere in the room inceareased tremendously as the other 2 suddenly realized the potential cost it took, probably assuming it was many lives.

"Less then you are thinking, and yet more at the same time. I was the one they chose, and as such all that was asked of me was to fulfill their wish and ideals. As such, their wish became my dream."

Kakashi's eye widened, remembering back when he first met me and the rest of team 7.

"Your dream was to make the world a better place. And I haven't sensed a lie at all during this conversation or when you said that was your dream. Was it really that simple?" Kakashi asked.

I nodded my head, confirming his question.

"Well, that's certainly interesting, though it's not why I called you here. Danzo Here is actually why I called you." The Hokage explained, waving his hand towards danzo, letting him continue.

"After hearing of your abilities, I felt I should take it upon myself to personally train you. With your power, you could be a great asset to konoha, likely one of the best in time. I would like for that potential to be used to its fullest potential, for the sake of konoha." Danzo explained to me, revealing why he was here.

"Why me? I know my abbility is powerful, but it surely isnt as great as the sharingan, or perhaps the kyuubi jinchuriki?" I asked, already knowing the answer, but still asking for confirmation.

"Espionage. If I am to train you, you need to be perfect in all shinobi skills. The uchiha is far too well known to be any good spy, and the kyuubi jinchuriki is not suited for anything but being a front line fighter. You however, are perfect for everything of the sort. Nobody knows your name, your chakra levels aren't that high, and you would have no need to use a henge. Even if you were to be compramised and killed, you would still be able to return the information and yourself back unharmed." He said, confirming my thoughts.

"So, would you like to come under my tutelage?" Asked the Shimura, though it was most certainly not a question.

I paused for a moment, making it seem as though I was thinking it over. After a small while, I made it seem as though I had come to a conclusion.

"Yes, I will accept your proposal Danzo-sama."

"Well, I believe that should be everything then." The sandaime announced, ending the conversation.

Considering how Danzo is, that went considerably better then I expected. Of course, my plan all along had been to eventually get under the tutalage of either Danzo or Orochimaru, though being able to still remain affiliated with Konoha is definitely helpful.

My training with Danzo would begin tommorow, so I had tonight and a small portion of tommorow to finish anything else needed to be done before I would begin my month long training with Danzo.

And that's why I was entering the hospital.

I leisurely walked to the receptionist desk.

"Exuse me, can you tell me the room number of Hyuuga Hinata?" I asked, putting on a faux smile.

She smiled lightly at me.

"Of course sweetie, room 135. Visiting hours will be over in 30 minutes, so you'll have to make it quick." She warned.

I nodded my head before heading to the designated room. It was a short walk, and soon I was infront of the door.

As I was about to open it, someone else opened it from the inside.

"Oh, Basuto-kun, what a suprise to see you here." The women infront of me said.

"Kurenai-san, I could ask you the same thing, dont you have your own team?" I shot back, adding in that childish arrogance to sell the act.

She smirked.

"Well, after seeing her get clobbered like that, and being so nervous all the time, I thought it would be good to have a nice heart to heart with her. Now answered my question." She ordered, not leaving anymore room to

"Dont give me that, I know who your opponent is. Your trying to get some Tips on how to win again Neji aren't you?" She said slyly.

I scratched the back of my head, channeling my inner Naruto to seem more innocent.

"Its seems I've been caught red handed."

"Only joking with you, I'm sure you do actually want to see her right?" She said, gaining a darker tone at the end, to insinuate the underlying threat. I nodded my head in aknowledgement. It would have been stupid to piss her off, and I am anything but.

"Good."

With that, she began walking down the hallway, finally letting me enter Hinata's room.

I casually opened the door and entered. She already knew I was here from using her byakugaan, so I wouldn't be able to sneak up on her even if I wanted to.

"H-hey Bāsuto-kun." She nervously stuttered.

God, she's a mess, at least in canon she had her team to give her at least a small boost, but now her teammates have probably just been belittling her.

I gave her a small smile, ones I normally only use with Jade, if only to calm her down.

"Hey Hinata-chan." I greeted back.

"W-what are you d-doing here?" She asked me, shifting around a bit in the bed so she was more straight.

I smiled and sat down on one of the nearby chairs.

"Well, I don't think we've ever talked to each other much, if at all, so I've decided to fix that." I explained to her.

She gripped harder onto the bedsheets at my words, and I realized my mistake immediately.

"It's not your fault we didn't talk much, it's entirely mine. I wasn't very social in the academy, and preferred to keep to myself. The less I was noticed the better for me. I broke out of that shell when I joined team 7. Naruto really helped me with that." I said, out right lying about actually becoming social, but still dropping in a hint to her that Naruto would help her with her shyness.

She loosened her grip on the sheets, and a small blush appeared on her face. She immediately shook her head and focused back on me.

"S-so Bāsuto-kun, what w-was that jutsu you u-used at the end of your m-match?" She asked.

She might have been incompasatated during my match, but I'm sure somebody probably told her about all the matches after hers

I held back a smirk as I thought of my reply.

"Its a powerful technique I came up with. That card I pulled out had a feedback loop mechanism that let chain the explosive tags, and multiply their explosive power, creating a giant explosion." I explained, lying 100%.

Her eyes had lit up at my explanation.

"T-thats very c-cool. I wish I could make a cool technique like that."

"Don't think so low of yourself hinata-chan, even I had a hard time making the technique, and I had help with it." I said bringing her spirits back up.

"W-was it t-that k-kumo girl that h-helped you?" She asked, thinking back to my friendliness with her.

I sighed, knowing it was going to come to this before I even walked in the room.

"Her name is Jade, and I knew her when I was much younger. It was certainly a suprise when I saw her here with a kumo headband, but we got to see each other again."

"Did y-you used t-to live in l-lightning country?" She asked, assuming that's where I'd have to live to be able to know a kumo shinobi.

"Close, but not quite. I lived in a small village northeast of here, just on the edge of the border of fire and lightning country. Jade also lived there. It was a simple life... well, until I had to leave."

"W-what do you mean?"

"One day, when I was around five, rogue nin came and murdered my parents, forcing me to move to konoha."

"I-I'm s-sorry! I d-d-didn't know!" She exclaimed.

I placed a hand on her shoulder, creating the air of kindness.

"It's alright, that was a long time ago, those memories dont bring me any pain. No need to be sorry." I said, trying to calm her down.

Seeing that she was no longer freaking out, I continued.

"Speaking of familly, what about yours?" I asked purposefully acting oblivious to her tensing up.

"I'm the C-clan h-heir, s-so my f-father expects a l-lot from me, and the b-branch members r-resent me b-because of my s-standing." She explained, her getting quieter the more she talked.

I chose to once again act obliviousness, and continue my blunt questions.

"Why does Neji, your own Cousin hate you so much?"

She tended up even more, but then calmed down, and began explaining the entire hyuuga incident. From what lead up to it, to even naruto saving her, though she quickly blushed up a storm and sputtered immensely mid way through.

I managed to divert the conversation to Neji's current abilities with well place question about his status as a genius, and with that, I finally gained what I had come here for.

"Incredible, he's going to be quite the foe to beat, but I promise that I will beat him, and show him that there is more to the world then the fate you've been handed."

Ironic, considering my entire life is an unavoidable fate
