Fourth Life prt:4

It was naruto's match now, and he was up against Choji. I had no doubt Naruto would win, I just wanted to see how he would end up pulling through.

It began with both charging forward using their signature moves, the expansion justsu and the shadow clone jutsu respectively. Choji began rolling through the swarms of naruto's, quickly lowering their numbers. Naruto, realizing that he needed a new tactic, made more shadow clones, and moved them all along the perimeter of the arena.

Choji could no longer continue bouldering through the swarms, lest he ram into the walls far to many times.

As he was caught up in the middle, the narutos surrounding him began hurling a swarm kunai and shuriken at the Akamichi.

He enlarged his hands and began swatting away at the projectiles thrown at him, but I knew he wouldn't be able to keep that up. Instead of continuing, he charged that the nearest clones, once again slicing through their numbers with quick swipes of his enlarged hands.

Naruto took this opportunity to flank choji, knocking him to the ground, and many more clones joining him and dog piling the Akamichi. It was ineffective at best, Choji easily pushing through the many clones, not seeing the explosive tags on them until it was too late.

He was blown right into one of the walls, causing a huge hole. He fell to the ground unconsious, granting naruto the win.

An interesting fight for sure, but one that's winner was obvious.

"So, so, how was I Bās?!" Naruto asked me excitedly after returning.

I not turning towards him, giving him a simple, "you did good" before turning back towards the arena.

He didnt seem to care about my lack of emotion, and instead his eyes shined happily as he went to talk to someone else.

Now, it was time to see who was next.

"Hinata Hyūga and Neji Hyūga, please come down to the arena."

Well, it's not like I can do anything about this

I watch as both Hyūga's head down to arena, Hinata's teammates giving smug smirks to her as Neji does the same.

Good lord, her self esteem is even lower then it was in cannon. This is going to be a complete beatdown

I dont even bother watching, choosing instead to look at all the people who could be my opponent.

Theres Gaara and Rock Lee. Against either of them I dont stand a chance, and I dont feel like wasting lives on this.

Theres Jades entire team, and I think I could take all of them. Me and jade would probably just flip a coin to deside who wins

Then theres Dosu, Tenten, and Hinata's teammates, all would be fairly easy, the Hyūga's seem pretty generic, and likely rely on their byakūgan way too much. Tenten would he simple, there would be plenty of ways to counter her weapons. I feel as though Dosu would be the greatest challenge of the four, though it would still be possible.

"Gaara *cough* wins." The Procter announces, breaking me from my thoughts. It seems I went right through both Hinatas and Gaara's matches. It's a shame to, the gaara and Rock Lee fight is quite fun to watch.

Looking at the aftermath of their battle, it seems Gaara heeded my note, as Lee layed infront of the giant statue unconsious. From what I could see, gaara attacked him as he only had one of his weights on, while pushing him off the statue, falling straight onto his head. It seemed he had been unable to correct his fall to do the unbalance of having only one of the super heavy weights. Despite what anime would like you to believe, outside of chakra, something Lee doesn't have mind you, a fall from that height onto your head will surely knock you out at the very least, and give you a severe concussion at worst. Either way, there was no getting back up from that.

Next fight *cough cough*, Dosu Kinu-*cough* Kinuta, and Bāsuto Hanadji."

I sigh internally as I make my way down to the arena, just my luck I'd get the person who will be the hardest to win against.

As I get down to the arena, I face Dosu. He was smug, thinking about what happened in the forest. He thought I was helpless against his attacks and was sure his victory was assured. How wrong he could be.

Hayate begins the match and Dosu quickly charges forward, intent on finishing this quickly, like how he did in canon.

I had already taken as much chakra as I could from my ears, so they were affectively useless. I wouldn't be relying on them during this fight.

I dodge his quick strike, but I fake pain as I grasp my ears, breaking the blood packets in my hands while doing so. Using my same strategy from before.

I get up swaying slightly fainting nausea.

"H-how?" I say, distracting him from what I was doing.

"Are you an idiot? I thought it was obvious when you got hit in the forest. If you're supposed to be the smart one on your team, I'd hate to see the intelligence of the other 2!" He says trying to taunt me, and while I fake anger, I charge at him. I 'fall over' from the 'nausea' and land on the ground nearby him.

He presses this advantage, and goes to strike at me while I'm on the ground. I role to the side to avoid it, but the pure concussive force of the sound wave at such close proximity knocks the wind out me and likely cracked one of my ribs if the pain in my chest is anything to go by.

What he doesnt see is the small piece of paper where I had just rolled away from. I jumped back up to my feet, putting a hand to my chest and head.

This cycle continues, myself being 'clobbered' by him, our 'fight' having taken us across most of the arena. If you were observant enough you could probably see quite a few of the paper bombs throughout the arena.

Now unlike what most people would do in this situation, I was not going to simply blow them all up at once. That would be a complete waste.

Instead, as I got hit again, I backpedaled right into a position where Dosu was right inbetween myself and a paper bomb.

"Give it up kid. This wasnt a fight, it was a massacre. You dont stand a chance against me. I honestly expected more from you." He says mockingly. He didn't notice the slightest smirk on my face.

"Never become overconfident, even when victory seems assured, don't ever lower you guard until it's truly over." I lecture him, watching as he stares at me amused.

"And what would you be able to do? Just accept that you've lost, I've already beaten you up enough." He says, still completely assured of his win.

"Kai."

He didn't have any time to react to the explosive tag behind him, simply watching helplessly as he was launched towards my unsheathed sword.

Instead trying to impale him, as he expected I would, I simply gave him a small graze, also redirecting his momentum slightly, throwing him into a second explosion.

His eyes widened in shock as he watched as the tide of battle changed in less then 10 seconds.

I slashed at him again as he flew back towards me, redirecting him to a third explosive tag.

This pattern continued for 3 more bombs before finally I launched him to the center of the arena.

While what I had done had certainly done quite a bit damage to him, it was only slightly more then the damage I took from his pummeling previously.

He stood up, a bit shakily but still managing. He looked at me and chuckled.

"You set all this up just to do so little damage. You're still more damaged then me! You will lose this fight! I wasn't going to kill you, but you have it coming now!" He shouted at me. He didn't notice the fact that there were still paper bombs surrounding him.

Instead of responding, I reached a hand into my pocket, while looking directly at Jade.

I slowly revealed what I had grabbed, as everyone went quite as they saw what I had brought out.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Jade's laugh broke though the silence, a deep uncontrollable laughter that seemed so full of joy.

Smirking at making her laugh, I look back at Dosu, my expression blank as I said the last words he would ever hear.

Jade, I'm doing this for you, appreciate it.

"Uno Reverse."

The 13 surrounding explosive tags all ignited at the same time, leaving nothing left of Dosu but a smoldering corpse, as he had been standing in the middle of them all.

Jade's laughter had only intensified as I had completed the meme, even as everyone else stared awestruck at what possible technique could have possibly done so much damage.

"Winner *cough*, Bāsuto Hanadji." Hayate announced as I walked away, looking only a little worse for wear, and definitely in no need of medical attention.

Jade's laughter had calmed down somewhat, but she was still giggling slightly, having gained weird looks from those around her.

As I walked by I held up a hand, and she high fived me as I passed by.

I make it back to where I had been previously, and gazed uninterested at who the next fighters would be.

As I looked to the screen, my question was answered as it showed the next matchup.

Sachi vs Tenten

This is going to be incredibly boring. As much I enjoy Tenten as a character, her weapons aren't going to help her whatsoever. Sachi is simply more skilled then her, and instead of spreading out her talents on all those different weapons, Sachi chose to master one.

Third person P.O.V

Sachi begins the match with a charge at tenten, crowbar in hand. Tenten makes a quick retreat, unsealing plenty more weapons and hurling them all at Yoshi at a high speed, though Yoshi quickly and easily dodges most of them.

The jump genin quickly closes the gap between the 2, and begins attacking her with her crowbar. Tenten counters and blocks with a ninja to she had unsealed during the barrage, and the two begin a fierce melee fight.

Neither side held an advantage over the other, and all the brawl had done was wear both of them down.

After jabbing at Tenten's stomach and being parried by tentens Ninjato, Yoshi leaps backwards, gaining distance between the two.

Yoshi goes through a series of hand signs, and though it looks like nothing happened, she had used a genjutsu. While it appeared as though she was still where she had retreated to, she was actually moving in behind tenten, preparing for a final strike.

Tenten realizes a second too late that it was a genjutsu, releasing it and moving just quickly enough to move slightly out of the way of the crowbar slashing at her. She didnt have enough to time to dodge completely, and instead only managed to move enough so it wouldn't hit her in any vital organs. Despite that, It still hit her right in her right bicep, the two hook parts of the crowbar pierce deep into her muscle, leaving that arm completly useless.

Tenten backs away, her free hand grabbing at the wound on her other arm. She glares at her opponent, despite the position she was in, she still had a fire in her eyes.

"Give up, you were already losing before, now with one arm completely useless? You dont stand a chance. This is your final warning." Yoshi warns her opponent, hoping she would take the offer and not have to harm the girl unnecessarily.

Instead, she grabs a large scroll off her back and unseals everything inside it. Hundreds of weapons all streaming towards Yoshi at a high speed.

Yoshi dodges and weaves between the many projectiles, block a few with her crowbar, and even a few managing to nick her, but once the barrage had ended, she was still mostly unaffected.

Tenten stares at her opponent, seeing her past ditch effort do little to nothing, and falls to her knees. She knew it was hopeless to continue fighting. There was no possible way she could win this.

'It seems her will of fire dims, she is quite weak willed. How sad.' Basuto thinks to himself, staring at her defeated form.

"I..." Tenten starts, trailing off. How would she be able to face her team after this? Her sensei? He had taught her to never give up, to push to her limits and go beyond them, and here she was, giving up at a seemingly insurmountable obstacle. No, that wasn't what she was taught!

"I... I wont give up! Not now! Even it seems impossible to win, I refuse to give up!" She shouts defiantly at Yoshi, standing back up and drawing a stray kunai from the weapon littered ground. Most other weapons would be useless considering she had only one good arm.

Yoshi simply sighs, before readying her crowbar, prepared to finish this.

They both charge each other, kunai and crowbar in hand, and clash right in the middle of the arena, sparks filling the air as both weapons clash. The seemed almost equal, but do to using only one arm, and the much smaller weapon, it was clear who would win. After a brief struggle, Tenten got violently knocked backwards, her head smashing against the ground, knocking her unconsious.

"Winner *cough* Yoshi!" Hayate announces, signaling the end of the match.

Yoshi relaxes her muscles, putting her crowbar back onto her back. She turns around and gives a small smile at her team, before heading back up towards them.

Before she was able to reach them, the next fight was announced. Glancing back at it she stares at the screen.

Sachi vs Taikutsuna hyūga

It didn't suprise her. The only people left after this match was the other hyūga, and Jade.

She passed by Sachi as she walked by, congrutalation and wishing well to each other.

As Yoshi sits back down, Sachi faces her opponent. He seemed like a typical generic Hyūga. Byakugan, black hair, and completely arrogant.

His posture seemed as though he was completely sure of his victory, despite not knowing a thing about Sachi.

As Hayate began the match, Sachi charged with her mace, going to strike the Hyūga across the face. He easily dodged the mace strike, before striking towards her right arm with Jūken, closing off one of her chakra points.

Sachi makes a hasty retreat, gaining her distance against him. She forms a few han signs, and performs a small lightning jutsu to keep the Hyūga at a distance, though it did little but momentarily stop his pursuit.

It quickly became a game of cat and mouse, the hyūga moving in to attack, and yoshi constantly trying to keep at a distance, everyone once in a while going for a hit with a mace.

It was getting nowhere, taikutsuna only being able to block a few of her chakra points, and Sachi only being able to hit the Hyūga once with her mace. It was a stalemate that lasted for several minutes, though it was clear the Hyūga was in better shape then Sachi.

"If this continues, it's clear who the victor will be, you cant keep running forever! It's your fate to lose." He taunts Sachi, who only groans in response.

"What is it with you Hyūga's and fate? I swear, it so annoying!" She exclaims, charging towards him, where he only smirks in response. He grabs onto the handle of the mace and strikes towards her chest, sending her flying across the room again, only this time, without her mace. Taikutsuna throws her mace behind him, before charging Sachi. By now, Sachi was far to beat up to outpace or outmaneuver the hyūga, and so she prepared her last line of defence.

Damnit. I didn't want to have to do this, but it seems like I dont have much a choice. Of course I fight someone who perfectly counters me! With that last thought, she finished the han signs, and released the jutsu.

"LIGHTNING STYLE: ELECTRIC DISCHARGE!" She shouts as the Hyūga gets within reaching distance of her, lightning arcing off her violently.

In the stands, her teammates look on in shock.

"She promised us she wouldnt use it... she promised us..." Yoshi whispered breathlessly.

The Hyūga, looking at what was happening with his Byakūgan, realised what was about to occur, and quickly bolted away from the Kumo genin.

As he ran, he saw the flash of light, and braced as his opponent exploded, launching dust and debris into the air. The Hyūga was launched into one of the walls at an odd angle, his entire body smashing into his left arm as it was crushed between the wall and his body. He screamed in pain as he fell to the floor, benath the layer of dust covering most of the arena.

Everyone waited with baited breath to see who would be the victor, though some in the stands already knew the truth.

"That was unexpected, even for me." Basuto says to Jade, who only seemed slightly effected by what had just happened.

"What jutsu even was that?! I want a badass jutsu like that!" Naruto exclaims to Jade and Yoshi. Yoshi just shakes her head sadly.

"No Naruto. It's not what it seems. That jutsu release almost all chakra stored in the body, leaving you with only the bare minimum enough to survive. Sometimes even less then then that. Once you use it, your not likely to get back up." Yoshi explains to him.

Looking at the arena, someone was shakily standing up, but the dust was too thick to tell who it was. The anticipation only grew as the time continued on.

As the dust finally settled, the winner was shown.

"Hyūga Taikutsuna is the victor." The Procter announces. Hearing that, the Hyūga collapses, only having stayed up through sheer willpower. A few leaf nin cheered, happy a fellow leaf shinobi had won, while other slumped, unhappy with the outcome.

Medics rushed to the field, looking over Sachi before taking her and quickly rushing out of the area, 2 grabbing Taikutsuna as well.

Now it was the final match, and both knew who they were up against before it was even shown.

Jade hopped over the railing, landing on to the arena below. Her opponent, the other Hyūga, walked down the stairs gracefully and arrogantly, much like any generic Hyūga.

"The competitors are Jade and Hyūga Heikin. Begin!"

Neither attacked, the only movements were Jade taking out her axe, and the Hyūga moving into the gentle fist stance.

"You think you stand a chance? Your teammate lost to Taikutsuna, and I'm even more powerful then him. It's your fate to lose." Heikin taunted, exuding the typical Hyūga arrogance.

"Well, I'm sorry to say that's not the case. I'm actually the strongest on my team as well, and by quite a considerable margin as well, and my teammate losing has kind of annoyed me. Your going to be my new stress relief." Jade replies, a devilish smirk on her face.

With the talking seemingly over, both charge each other, a somewhat similar situation to the previous match, the only difference being the ungodly speed at which Jade swung the axe, and insane distance the Hyūga flew after being hit. He slammed at the wall at a crazy speed.

Jade doesn't give him any time to recover. She sprints towards him, grabs him, and throws him into the floor.

With that done, she simply lays her tiny axe on top of him and takes a step back.

Everyone seems confused for a moment, confused at the action she had just performed. That is until Heikin tried getting up, and was unable to do so.

"Why Can't I move this thing!" He shouts, struggling heavily to even make it move.

Jade smirks at him, and sticks out her tongue.

"Despite what you might believe, it's not a jutsu or anything of the sort. The axe is just so heavy most wouldnt be able to make it budge. If I had to make a rough estimation of its weight, I'd estimate around 600 pounds. So, that's currently 600 pounds of force resting on your chest. You can forfeit, or I can punch in the face. And I hope you have the smarts to realise that I have the strength to hold that axe, and swing it around at that speed." She explains to the Hyūga lying helplessly on the floor, axe laying on top of him, and unable to do anything.

He growls at her, challenging her to try and do what she claimed she was. Jade sighs before going up to him and hitting him in the temple, knocking him out instantly, and ending the final match of the preliminaries in quite a lackluster way compared to most the other matches.

"Would all the winners of the preliminaries head down to the arena." Hayate says to the genin.

All the winners form into a line in the middle of the arena. Jade retrieves her axe off of the Hyūga, and join all the winners in that line.

Sasuke, Shino, Sakura, Temari, Shikamaru, Neji, Gaara, Bāsuto, Yoshi, Taikutsuna, and Jade were all of the remaining genin in the chunin exams.

The hokage looked on at all of the remaining genin.

"I will now begin the explanation of the final exam." The sandaime announced, all eyes on him as began.

"In the final round, each of you will put you battle skills on display. You'll demonstrate the power and control you've achieved in your respective disciplines. Accordingly, the final battles will commence one month from now." He explained to the genin infront of him.

"What? We're not gonna do it right here right now?" Naruto asked the hokage, confused on the long period of wait.

"This is to provide a suitable period of preparation." The hokage explained.

"What do you mean by that?" Neji asked back.

"Simply this, in addition to announcing the conclusion of the preliminarie matches to each villages leader, we also have time to prepare and distribute the summons for the final selection, not too mention you examinees need time to prepare for something as important as this." He responded, letting them know of the reason for the delay.

"Know this, use this time wisely, for before all of these fights before were real, but they were under the pretense of your enemy being unknown, now your abilitys have been revealed, and relying on the same old tricks will insure your defeat." He warned the many shinobi in front of him.

Everyone contemplated his words, already planning their training, and glancing towards their fellow competitors.

"There is one final thing we must do before we can end this." He said, regaining all of the genius attention once more.

"Just hurry up and tell us old man! I want to start training!" Naruto shouted at him. The hokage did not acknowledge him, and only continued speaking.

"In a calm orderly fashion, you all will grab a slip of paper from the box anko is holding, this will decide who you are going to be up against." He explained.

"Just stay where you are everyone, I'll come to you." Anko added, walking down the line, each contestant grabbing one slip of paper.

Ibiki held the clipboard in his hands, looking over it.

"Now, will everyone tell me their numbers?"

Guess who's back bitches! Sorry for the long wait everyone! And to make up, I've got the longest chapter yet! (I think)
