Episode 46: Pride

*Starting Scene*

Three days have come and gone since Cassius reported the pending invasion from the three eldest siblings of what's left of the Wilde Family. It's presently a nice, sunny day with a sparse number of clouds decorating the sky with barely a breeze trespassing through Velkry's confines as the streets are mostly vacant due to the suspicion of their enemy's arrival being sometime soon based on Cassius' prediction. Simultaneously, Spellcasters dressed in white clothing are standing by for any sort of signal from the Gate Guardians while not too far from one of the four entrances to the Holy Sanctuary and each have their means of combat ready, which includes some being in a fighting stance considering that's how they fight.

Eventually, without the civilian's knowledge, a flock of different birds fly overhead with incredible swiftness as they circle atop Velkry like vultures, quite accurate in many cases because of their actually existing a handful of vultures among the other breeds, while several land on the city's roofs to thoroughly inspect everything. Following that, Mammoth emerges from the part of the forest located near the Eastern Gate, both hands tucked inside his pockets, as a blank expression can be seen on his face.

Stationed directly in front of the Eastern Gate, Kinu sturdy his composure after taking his short-bladed sword out of the sheath he has stored beneath his cloak that's on his left hip via his right hand to point it at Mammoth and asks in a demanding tone, "You're from the Wilde Family, aren't you?!"

Not ceasing his advancement, Mammoth replies in a blunt manner so he could cut to the chase. "I am the head of said family, Mammoth Wilde. Tell me, is it true you're harboring Dante Einsburn? Don't contemplate lying to me either." His eyes are filled with an intimidating resonance. "That would be a grave error on your part if you do." An immense production of white-colored magic radiates out of Mammoth as soon as he finished that sentence.

Kinu takes in a big gulp while unable to refrain from being a bit nervous before his shadow flickers rapidly and then disappears.

During that same instance, at the Western Gate, Carlile senses the amazing amount of magic that abruptly arose from behind him and hurriedly turns toward the closed, metal doors with worry showing as he utters to himself, "Is it...?!" The monk-looking man soon notices a human-shaped shadow form on the ground next to his left side while not connected to him and becomes very serious. "Kinu's giving me the signal!" Carlile snaps his head back toward the gate prior to shouting so he could be heard by any of the citizens near his entrance way . "They're at the Eastern Gate! Go!"

The multiple Spellcasters waiting close to Carlile's gate had sensed the massive magic as well and were temporarily staring off in its direction until hearing the order they were given. After that, every individual, male and female, respond accordingly via a courageous roar to let Carlile know they received his command while hastily heading toward the Eastern Gate's vicinity with determination overflowing.

Having listened to the united answer from within the city, Carlile nods with a pleased demeanor while his shadow suddenly expands on the ground up to three meters as he's standing atop of it and quickly descends into the intangible mass before the shadow reduced to the extent of nothingness.

Once that transpired though, the white-clothed group that was rushing to the Eastern Gate got derailed by an unprecedented assault from the swarm of birds they neglected to realize were watching them as the aerial creatures immediately started viciously pecking and clawing at the civilians. This results in many cries reverberating out of duress while the Spellcasters attempt to fight off however way they can manage, but aren't having much luck. Amidst the chaotic attack, Wing resides on top of a building that isn't far away with his arms crossed while lackadaisically seeing the distraught horde of people as some birds hover around him and the pigeon that's on his right shoulder again.

Back to the Eastern Gate, Kinu retains his ground despite getting a lot of pressure applied to him by Mammoth's mere progression, keeping his short sword aimed at the Animal Tamer, as his orchid-colored eyes emanate devotion. "I, being a Class S Spellcaster, have no obligation to tell you anything! Begone if you know what's best for you, Mammoth! Velkry will not tolerate those without an invitation!"

With about ten meters between himself and Kinu, Mammoth isn't deterred at all while withdrawing both hands from inside his pockets as veins are dilate throughout them due to the intensity the pompadour-endowed gentleman's projecting. "An unwise choice, however, it's yours to make. Just don't come to regret it following the righteous punishment I'll be administering to you and your beloved city."

Then, the ground becomes enveloped by a separate, human-shaped shadow toward Kinu's right and promptly has Carlile sprout out of it, causing Mammoth to lightly raise his eyebrows without halting his walking. Afterwards, the muscular monk unholsters his short sword via his left appendage that's attached to his right side and directs its blade at Mammoth in a stern manner. "We shall see who will be administering the punishment here!"

Kinu, content that his friend had arrived with haste, grins while momentarily looking at him out of the corner of his eyes until reverting his focus to Mammoth and nods in agreement. "That's right!"

Mammoth, not really reacting to the two monks valor, disregards their presence as he peers at the large, double doors' upper region for several seconds, maintaining his advancement in the process.

Equally finding offense to Mammoth's lack of interest, Carlile and Kinu lower their extended limb in unison without their resolve decreasing at all while abruptly dashing toward the green-haired foe. In no time, the cloaked pair get close enough to Mammoth to attempt an attack upon the Wilde Family leader via his midsection from contrary trajectories. Right after that, just when the blades collided with Mammoth's arms, both weapons concurrently split in half as they generate a slight chiming noise and that leaves the two Gate Guardian's dumbfounded.

As that happens, Mammoth menacingly veers his gaze back onto Carlile and Kinu with no real desire to make a remark to their failed strike, having finally detained his walking.

Though they're suffering minor loss of momentum, the monk-looking duo know very well what's at stake, discard their broken sword while continually watching Mammoth, plant their feet atop the ground and cross their fingers after dropping them. Having done that, a gust of wind is produced from both bald men with a colorless magic flowing out as well. "Shadow Ani-"

Mammoth unceremoniously intervenes Carlile and Kinu's cast of the Shadow Animation Spell by swiftly clamping their face with a gigantic hand for each one as tremendous strength is instilled. "Too slow. Makes it difficult for me to believe that you are a Class S Spellcaster." He said that last part after placing his attention toward Kinu and then brings it to Carlile while questioning with minor skepticism, "Does that mean you're one too?"

Muffled words come from both Velkry Spellcasters thanks to the enormous hand covering their mouth while their magic hurriedly receded after being unable to fully initiate the spell as they fruitlessly try freeing themselves any way possible, which involves hitting Mammoth via many punches and kicks.

Sadly, not even a small wince of discomfort is shown by Mammoth as he simply witnesses their struggle until passively commenting, "Struggle all you want, however, it won't achieve anything. Desmond's the sole individual to ever overcome me in power and the two of you are far from even deserving to breathe the same air." The Animal Tamer's about to squish Carlile and Kinu's head like he did to the armored man a few days back, but suddenly experiences himself falling forward that forces the release of his grip.

Meanwhile, the two bald individuals had halted the blows they were launching throughout Mammoth's body and promptly slip through the ground due to implementing the spell that Carlile utilized to arrive at the Eastern Gate so fast with a couple of enlarged shadows plaguing the terrain. Several moments later, with the shadows dissipating from in front of Mammoth, Carlile and Kinu resurface through the human-shaped shadows that appeared a bit over two meters ahead of the metal entrance with their concentration on the red-eyed adversary while heavily panting to regain oxygen since both the head constriction and their flailing tired them significantly.

Mammoth lowers his hands, calmly resting his vision upon the opponents once more, while resuming to converse with them. "I wonder... Were you two made Class S Spellcasters for your magical ability or your teamwork? The latter would make more sense because, separately, I can't imagine you both being any higher than a Class A Spellcaster."

Kinu glances at Carlile as worry starts arising and whispers, "He found us out."

Carlile keeps his eyes locked on Mammoth while replying to Kinu in a soft volume. "Indeed... It was bound to happen though. The moment he grabbed us, I felt him analyzing our magic to verify how strong we are. Together, we're barely at that classification and the Royal Council decided to recruit us on that basis alone with the stipulation that we needed to be individually portrayed as Class S Spellcasters for deception purposes."

Kinu nods in acceptance before setting his sights back to Mammoth as determination comes forth and crosses his fingers again. "Uh-huh, but that doesn't lessen our dedication to this city that gave us shelter!"

Carlile demonstrates passion at the same time he also entwines his fingers. "Absolutely true and it never will!"

That being said, both monk-looking gentleman's attire flutter in accordance to their magic emanating for the second time while declaring in a loud voice to be heard, "We're Class S Spellcasters Carlile and Kinu! That's the way it is!" They briefly pause and then fervently call out, "Shadow Animation!" The orchid-eyed men's shadows fluctuate as they expand toward Mammoth from his left and right. Both black masses soon emerge out of the ground to apply a bear-hug on the Asian and are instantly successful in entrapping Mammoth. Not celebrating prematurely like they did with Dante's Hellfire Fiend, Carlile and Kinu urgently command while bent forward a little, "Now, Shadow Realm!"

Mammoth commences to rapidly sink through his own shadow that's beneath his feet, complements of the two humanoid, black masses that are pinning him, and in roughly three seconds, vanishes within the terrain without even trying to resist.

Silence temporarily follows as Mammoth's shadow gradually shrinks while Kinu's quite pleased by what he saw and is just about to remark out of content with his focus on Carlile, however, gets cut off from his muscular friend who continues observing where the enemy stood a moment ago via a serious way. "Let's not be rash, Kinu. There's a longer delay in the shadow's extinguish. That isn't normal. It's supposed to be faster, especially since we use Shadow Animation to make sure he wouldn't evade our spell."

Kinu understands Carlile's concern without dispute and diverts his attention to the still shrinking shadow as he anxiously waits for its complete deterioration.

Tension eventually consumes the area due to how much slower the shadow's recession became with every passing instance until unprecedentedly extending to an extreme circumference that took up approximately thirty meters of the ground's surface, narrowly missing contact involving the Eastern Gate.

Both Carlile and Kinu are startled at the mere sight of what's occurring under their feet while gasping a bit with widen eyes. After that, the earth feverishly shakes, causing the duo to panic, as they back into the metallic structure behind them prior to the expulsion of ten matured, African-styled elephants while releasing countless trumpeting sounds.

In the meantime, it's visible that a much smaller Mammoth nonchalantly stands atop the head of the elephant stationed at the center, having relinquished himself of both humanoid shadows that were ailing the Spellcaster as he's no longer producing white-colored magic, while miraculously not being thrown off by the haphazard movement provided by the land-based mammal with his attire currently too big for his person. Noting the positioning of his foes, the pompadoured adult leaps from the elephant's head just when every grey-colored animal began descending through the immense shadow, although they keep up their thrashing in the effort to prevent absorption. Fortunately for them, all ten elephants instantaneously disappear with no signs of where they went as Mammoth lands his feet on top of the Eastern Gate after reverting to his giant stature and examines Velkry's confines.

Afterwards, Carlile and Kinu snap their head upward as the vast shadow fades away in no time while filled with bewilderment.

Mammoth persists his scan of the region before him, inhales the air profusely and exhales from meager disgust while lightly uttering, "They call this place the Holy Sanctuary, but I see nothing that remotely resembles such a phrase. It is pure blasphemy." He sees the multiple quantity of Spellcasters located at a distance from where he's poised, all of them aiming an angry glare in his direction, as the Wilde Family leader doesn't care. "Defiance... Such an awful sin." Mammoth quickly takes account of a presence toward his upper right and finds Dreka staring at him from the elevated spot the dreadlocks-wearing man had sat previously with his body facing the other way. This leads to Mammoth lifting his right eyebrow while exhibiting a tiny bit of curiosity.

Dreka keeps sitting in a casual method and ultimately deviates his concentration to the forest in front of the Southern Gate as if neglecting everything that recently transpired.

Mammoth's moderately confused by Dreka's action, but decides to do the same thing in the end and pretends that their eyes never met while focusing on the people ahead again. Once he does that, the red-eyed male was going to step off the Eastern Gate so he could officially invade Velkry, however, the two human-shaped shadows hurriedly return as they attempt another bear-hug from opposing sides of his being. Amazingly, Mammoth vanishes from where he stood, making both humanoid masses crash into each other while mixing together.

With the viewing of their adversary's disappearance, Carlile and Kinu become very worry, having both switched their stance to face toward the Eastern Gate during their recent try against Mammoth, prior to desperately surveying the surroundings so they wouldn't be caught by a sudden attack. Realization then simultaneously hits the two monks as both of them lock eyes with the other and state in fear, "He's inside!"

Mammoth stands upright about six meters from the great collection of civilians, who are displaying severe anxiety at the Saints Organization affiliate's instant arrival to the ground inside Velkry, as he remarks with an unimpressed attitude, "Clearly, you all knew I was coming in advance, but made a poor miscalculation. You thought that these numbers you are showing me would suffice. That is another sin and I will be certain to make all of you properly atone."

*Scene Change*

While Mammoth confronts the group of Spellcasters, Carlile and Kinu momentarily hesitate as they're looking at the double doors before the more muscular of the pair speaks in a rushed voice. "We have to go after him!" He attempts to take a step forward, however, is unexpectedly swiped backwards with astonishing agility with a distressful cry echoing.

Kinu frantically follows Carlile's trajectory and immediately sees an absurdly oversize, green-spotted, black, paddle-tail newt that's roughly five meters in length with a girth of four meters as the lizard-like creature's feet gives it a stature over three meters. After noting the newt that's not too far away from him, the monk-looking male watches in horror that the amphibian has Carlile captured within its mouth.

The newt blinks a few times during its stare of Kinu via the semi-aquatic animal's left eye while maintaining a struggling Carlile held hostage as the sticky residue that it secretes gets on the binned man. Not long after that, the ginormous amphibian tugs its head to the left prior to snapping it toward the right, letting go of Carlile with a lot of momentum inputted as a bark reverberated simultaneously, and sends Kinu's friend soaring while screaming in peril.

Kinu becomes highly concerned as he takes a single step forward via his left foot and passionately shouts, "Carlile!"

Carlile hits the ground several times with strained yelps during his uncontrollable travel across the terrain until halting almost twenty meters from the newt's location and lies on his back, both eyes now closed, while somewhat parallel to the enlarged creature. This causes the Shadow Animation Spell he implemented to cancel out as it was still atop the Eastern Gate with Kinu's shadow.

Kinu wishes to go to Carlile's aid, but gets interrupted by the newt slithering upon him so it could chomp down on the orchid-eyed gentleman with its vomerine teeth, despite them not being really sharp. In reaction, the monk dodges to his right as he keeps facing toward the lizard-like beast and summons his shadow to blot its path after gesturing his left hand ahead.

The newt instinctively stops its pursuit, unsure about what recently arose from the ground, while the amphibian swerves its head left and right to check out the black mass with each eye as it makes a hissing noise.

During the newt's analysis, Kinu positions himself a fair distance away as he cautiously observes his enemy while his view of Carlile is blocked by its extraordinary size and thinks in the middle of catching his breath, "This has to be another one of the Wilde Family's animals. To my knowledge, each member can only tame one species that they're genetically linked to after birth. I can safely presume that Mammoth's are elephants, so..." The bald Spellcaster glances at the area around him while continuing his mental discussion. "The master to this gigantic thing has to be somewhere nearby. I heard that a flaw of most Animal Tamers is they can't be too far or the animal will go rouge on them. Unless whoever's manipulating it isn't in that category or has them completely tamed, I should be able to spot him or her."

Once that thought had finished, the newt decides to quit hesitating and thrusted itself onto the shadow as a temporary stalemate transpires thanks to the humanoid resisting, however, ends up losing out, which results in the smooth-skinned creature charging toward Kinu with another bark resounding, while the shadow clings to its face.

Kinu tries running backwards to retain a safe range, but isn't fast enough and receives a headbutt to his entire being, launching him into the air with moderate sums of agony taking shape. He then unintentionally flips around a bit and falls on the ground via a harsh thud, having landed on his stomach, while vertically draped in the newt's direction.

The newt, shaking off the shadow masking its face with minimal trouble, methodically stalks Kinu and releases multiple hissing noises.

Kinu grimaces a couple of times as he's staring at the earth beneath him while thinking in an optimistic way, "Okay, I hope the tamer's watching. If it looks like both I and Carlile have been defeated, he or she should come out from wherever they're hiding! I'll stake everything on that chance!" The downed individual shuts his eyes to concentrate so he could sense any foreign magic that might be getting closer. Soon after that, Kinu hurriedly opens his eyes, resuming his gaze upon the ground, and painstakingly pulls his head to revert his attention onto the spotted newt as he utters in disbelief, "Why am I sensing magic from...?"

Just when the newt arrived at Kinu and opened its mouth to possibly garble him up, a valiant yell overtakes the air as that forces the semi-aquatic animal to close its mouth and peer skyward. The newt's promptly greeted by an airborne Carlile, who's descending upon it, with both arms hoisted above his head while his shadow's currently raveled around his body as he wholeheartedly orders the beast, "Stay away from my best friend!" The muscular monk mounts the newt's backside an instance later, both legs doing all they can not to slip off its sticky skin, and plants his hands on the amphibian before stating firmly, "Shadow Tomb!"

Right after that, Carlile's shadow stretches out of his person and merges with the newt's own shadow as they're used together to create a rectangular coffin that's barely large enough to entrap the lizard-like critter while there isn't much resistance coming from within since the newt doesn't understand what happened. Meanwhile, the perched Spellcaster intently watches the shadow-based coffin while outside of it and is on all fours as he can't help contentedly grinning at what he recently accomplished.

Suddenly, Kinu hastily gets to his feet with minor suffering aching him, having his sights still toward the newt's vicinity, and fervently shouts, "Skewer it, Carlile! That thing has magic for some reason! It must be the Animal Tamer!"

Carlile's caught off guard by Kinu's outburst since there's never been any information about a Wilde Family member being able to fully transform into an animal and momentarily glances at his comrade prior to complying with a serious look as he resets his vision onto the Shadow Tomb while expelling a vast supply of magic. "Shadow's Edge!"

With that, black spikes gradually sprout from the rectangular structure made of shadow while a horrid cry generates, signaling the newt's demise. Following the atrocious sound that would earn many animal-lovers' dread, the Shadow Tomb dispels as an even louder thud in comparison to Kinu's collision involving the terrain transgresses because of the newt collapsing with blood seeping out from countless puncture wounds on its corpse while slack-jawed.

Carlile eventually rises to his feet, nearly slipping thanks to the newt's body continuing its slimy secretion although the amphibious creature's dead, and hops off his elevated location. Landing on the deceased newt's right, the cloaked adult walks toward Kinu as he calmly inquires, "Are you alright?"

Kinu sheepishly grins while placing both hands on his waist and nods. "Yeah, but being tackled by that monster really hurt!"

Carlile chuckles out of amusement with light sympathy included. "Hey, at least you weren't tossed by it. Now THAT hurt." The orchid-eyed lad gestures his arms without moving them from being next to him and demonstrates his presently sticky demeanor. "And you saved yourself the disgusting fate of being in its mouth, which is gross."

Kinu softly laughs until abruptly experiencing a chilling sensation, causing a fearful expression to surface, as he doesn't divert his attention from Carlile. "Do you... Feel that?"

Carlile takes a bit to understand what Kinu's referring to and then realizes the exact moment a pair of wet hands rested upon his face, one stationed on each cheek.

Concurrently, the male individual, who those appendages belong to, gratefully smiles while telling Carlile in a hiss, "Thank you... And good night!" He said that last part in a vicious tone before yanking the monk's head to the left, dislocating his neck sideways as a result with the bone visibly lodged against that body part's right section.

Kinu's rendered speechless after witnessing the unprecedented death of his best friend as a single tear travels down from his left eye and heavily pants.

Removing his hands off Carlile so the dead Velkry Spellcaster could drop to the ground on his left side, it's promptly revealed that the murderer is Salamander as he saw Carlile's fall prior to locking his gaze onto Kinu with both hands poised near his face and evilly asks while ignoring the fact that he's totally drenched in an undetermined liquid, "How much do you think that must've hurt?"

Kinu, not wishing to even respond to the killer, haphazardly launches a right punch with an enraged grunt escaping his lips, but fails due to Salamander nonchalantly parrying the attack via his left hand and makes the shadow user's limb hover upward.

Salamander tauntingly quips without regarding Kinu's feelings whatsoever while his left arm's extended aside, "You'd think, for the muscles he had, his neck wouldn't have snapped so easily. Makes you wonder if I'm that strong or if they were merely for show. Sucked for him since... You know... Because he's dead now." The red-eyed man laughs a little.

Kinu retracts his outstretched appendage and administers a left jab at Salamander as his fury escalates. "Shut your mouth!"

Salamander instantly deflects the second strike directed toward him via his right hand this time as it had stayed close to his face until the attack was thrown and forces Kinu's arm to swing upon the monk's left against his will. This sets Kinu up for the Wilde Family member to land a right-handed chop across his opponent's chest after planting his right foot forth to take a sideways stance, stepping on the deceased Carlile's right leg while not minding it whatsoever, with significant strength behind the blow.

Kinu stumbles backwards with the sticky substance that keeps covering Salamander attaching itself onto his chest a tad and somewhat winces out of pain while clutching at the afflicted region via his left hand as he positions his right fist ahead to secure that the green-haired lad wouldn't continue his assault.

Salamander dismounts his foot from Carlile, returning it to be next to his other foot, as he peers down on the motionless individual with a small amount of contempt and had brought his right hand down. "We're going to have to get this guy out of the way or I'll just keep stepping on him." A joyous grin instantly appears before Salamander mildly cocks his head back without switching his gaze. "Eat up, Slither # 2!"

The ground abruptly commences shaking profusely, causing Kinu to lose his balance and fall on his buttocks with both hands resting on the terrain for leverage, until a digging sound can be heard from below Carlile. Not even a few seconds later, the earth breaks apart with a gigantic, brown-colored lizard's head popping out while releasing a deafening vocalization and sends Carlile flying skyward in a random, flipping motion.

Salamander leisurely observes the appearance of the reptile, having barely taken a couple of steps to his right to avoid any sort of collision, while sustaining his enjoyment.

Afterwards, the dead Carlile falls back down and is swallowed whole by the rounded-pupil critter with no issue.

Kinu screams in terror as his eyes are excessively dilated with the horrible occurrence maiming his psyche.

*Scene Change*

Mammoth glances behind himself to investigate the scream that echoed from the Eastern Gate's other end, which is somewhere around twenty meters away, while emitting an indifferent attitude and solemnly says, "Salamander finally caught up as he said he would." The Animal Tamer navigates his focus toward the hundreds of Velkry Spellcasters who are in the same direction as the gate and are currently unconscious throughout that area with their bodies severely battered like something huge had trampled them. Having done that, Mammoth looks at the rest lying either around him or stand several meters in front of him while each demonstrating outstanding quantities of fear. This pleases the invader as he briefly nods with his vision specifically on those ahead and keeps talking in the same method. "That is good. You all have the appropriate expression for this occasion. When God's merciless intent comes down upon everyone, fear is the correct response. That is the reason I did my best to hold back to give you an example, hence why no lives have been lost yet by my hands. You have all successfully passed the first stage of atonement." His eyes narrow with a callous demeanor brimming. "The next stage is death."

The Holy Sanctuary's personnel become very frightened as the thought of retreating crossed their minds, however, a decent number of them know that it wouldn't do any good since they can sense how much magic is stored within Mammoth's being.

To the citizen's great fortune, a familiar, male voice yells out in a firm tone while located at the back of their forces, "Stand aside, men and women of Velkry!"

Every civilian shift their attention to the source and are immediately delighted to see who it is via a united gasp of happiness. They then do exactly as the voice ordered by either parting to the right or the left, permitting a clear path for the man who's soon revealed to be Cassius.

Cassius, having his left hand gripping onto the Longsword's handle that's commonly strapped to his waist, glares at Mammoth with not a single shred of hesitation emitted and confidently declares, "Mammoth Wilde!" The white-haired young man points his right thumb at himself. "I shall be your adversary now! Class S Spellcaster Cassius Henseka!"

Mammoth quickly inquires in a skeptical manner while his eyes are zoomed upon Cassius, "Are you actually of that classification or another fake?"

Cassius rebuttals as he detaches his Longsword and points it at Mammoth with both hands while lowered to his crotch. "If you want to know, then fight me and forget about everyone else." He veers his concentration to the civilians prior to nudging his head left and right so they would leave.

Uncertainty plugs the many Spellcasters that are still on their feet due to not wishing to go without their downed companions as they look toward them with a bit of sadness showing.

Cassius acknowledges the residences' plight and assures them in a stern tone after establishing his attention back to Mammoth, "I promise they will be alright. Trust me. Now, go on."

The crowd oblige with Cassius's words while hurriedly running pass both sides of the Class S Spellcaster as some can't help watching Cassius in the meantime and exhibit admiration for his devotion.

Once the citizens are out of sight, Mammoth asks another question, however, this one has him sounding quite agitated. "Isn't that cruel on your part?"

Cassius' vaguely confused as he takes a step toward Mammoth with his right foot. "How exactly if you do not mind me asking?"

Mammoth answers in a cold voice without losing much of his agitation. "You gave them false hope. They honestly expect you to win and protect their allies when we both know you won't. You didn't do anything other than delay their anguish and death by probably a minute or so."

Cassius scoffs while gingerly digging his feet into the ground. "Are you saying that I will fall in that time-frame? You're very cheeky for a man of your age."

Mammoth's agitation increases, apparently bothered by Cassius' remark, and clutches both hands into fists. "Be careful. You wouldn't want to get run over by a stampede like they were, would you?"

Cassius becomes fairly concerned before thinking with his head pulled back a tad, "Stampede?"

Mammoth instantaneously expels his magic again after stating while his eyes widen with intensity, "That was rhetorical." The pompadour-wearing adult then releases two elephants from his person as the grey-colored mammals charge at Cassius while trumpeting their trunk, crushing some of the Spellcasters who laid motionless on the street without allowing any time for them to even cry out in agony because of them getting killed within a split second by experiencing the elephant's full weight.

Cassius doesn't like what he's seeing at all as he uses the Speed Spell to advance toward the elephant duo, and once he depleted the gap to an inch while located in the middle of them, swiftly swung his Longsword horizontally from side to side twice so he would take out a leg. This concludes with both large creatures to topple over, containing a pretty deep cut from the injured limb, while there's none of Velkry's personnel nearby as dust kicks-up upon impact.

While that transpired, Mammoth immediately arrives right in front of Cassius and stares his foe down with his right hand positioned to throw a hook. "Impressive, but that was a mistake. You have no right to exhibit mercy when God should have that honor alone." The immense gentleman launches the strike onto Cassius' temple.

Cassius physically responds by hastily swinging the Longsword in the fist's trajectory thanks to it having been toward the hazel-eyed male's right side at the time. A quick collision then follows suit, however to Cassius' dismay, the weapon doesn't even leave a nick on Mammoth's knuckles with a stand-off between the two men.

Mammoth displays curiosity as he slants his head to the left to get a better view of Cassius' sword. "That is strange. I have never come across a sword that could go without shattering once I made contact with it." He turns his concentration to Cassius after straightening his head. "What kind of Spellcaster are you?"

Cassius grits his teeth due to struggling to maintain Mammoth's fist at bay, the Longsword's blade presently quivering because of how much power's being applied onto it, while desperately twisting his body to the left with his right foot still forward and then valiantly says, "The strong kind!" The cloaked lad suddenly manages to push Mammoth's appendage back with amazing force as his sword sways to the left.

Surprise overtakes Mammoth's expression while mentally debating, "Did he just use the Strengthening Spell to repel my arm?! No, something felt out of the ordinary with his sword!" The red-eyed enemy briefly opens his right hand before fiercely clenching it to initiate another hook toward Cassius' head, grunting ferociously as Mammoth does that.

Cassius weaves to his left, eluding the fast strike by barely an inch, and swings the Longsword upon Mammoth's right wrist following a swift changing in his hands' grasp on the hilt to add more power. The weapon's blade hits Mammoth's limb, repelling it for a second time as the appendage heads toward the Wilde Family leader's chest, while both combatants glare at each other with determination radiating.

*Scene Change*

Wing remains perched atop one of the nearby buildings as he sees Velkry's Spellcasters fight off his different breeds of birds that are attacking them, keeping his arms entwined with one another, and switches his vision toward the left, which is where the Eastern Gate's stationed, while calmly thinking, "I see that Mammoth and Sal are battling against formidable opponents." The attractive man sets his sights upon the civilians, disappointment taking shape on his face, and mutters, "As usual, I'm weeding out the weak with no problem. It's ironic when I'm the second strongest of my family."

The pigeon on Wing's right shoulder coos sadly while the other birds flying around him notice something behind the ninja-wannabe and squawk in urgency.

Wing acknowledges his birds' simultaneous shriek, investigates what's behind him via commandeering his head to the left and locks eyes with Faulch, who recently planted his right hand onto the small of the enemy's back in a lowered stance, while speaking without any sign of disturbance after temporarily pausing, "Are you a ninja too? Because that was pretty good."

Faulch bluntly replies with seriousness resonating in his silver eyes. "One doesn't need to be a ninja to stealthily sneak up on someone. That concept fits anyone who owns the appropriate skills needed." The shaggy-haired gentleman quickly installs a large seal onto Wing's back, basically covering it completely, and dissipates within mere moments. "Also, a Spellcaster calling himself a ninja is in poor taste. Leave that to the humans who need useless titles like those to feel better about themselves when any individual can achieve great strength."

Wing halfheartedly smirks as he starts slowly parting his arms. "I know, but you can't deny how cool Ninja Spellcaster Wing sounds."

Faulch promptly withdraws his right hand to release a palm strike at Wing's backside with his left hand as the foot belonging to the same side is placed ahead while firmly declaring, "Actually, I can!"

Wing closes his eyes before shifting his head to face forward so he could release a sad sigh and then disappears from where he's standing, making Faulch's attack catch air.

Faulch hurriedly navigates his right leg backwards to swing his right arm horizontally at Wing's side, who's now over there as he's confronting the black-haired male with his eyes open, and tries for a palm strike like that.

The swarm of birds immediately go to their master's aid while coming down onto Faulch's right arm, aggressively pecking at it.

Faulch grimaces from minor pain, however, persists his attempt on Wing with tenacity overflowing.

Wing extends both arms to opposing sides of his person and flaps them as if he was a bird, causing the pigeon on his shoulder to hurriedly dismount so it could prevent getting accidentally hurt, while hopping high enough in avoidance of Faulch's palm with a focused gaze aimed toward the cloaked man. "I feel like I recognize you from somewhere the more I look at you."

Faulch faces Wing by use of his momentum as he launches a plethora of palm strikes involving only his left hand after exchanging his feet's positioning since his right arm continues dealing with the relentless onslaught brought from the birds while outstretched next to him without saying anything.

Wing reacts amidst his descent back to the rooftop via diverting each thrust with his right hand rapidly moving up and down in a swatting motion until eventually touching down onto the building. After that, the Asian-looking foe retains his method of defense, having put his left hand near his waist, while commenting in an interested tone, "It's your eyes. There are two men from Trailblaze with that silver color named Conner and Naoki. A very unnatural trait to see more than one person have." Wing faintly cackles. "Maybe I'm blowing it out of proportion. It could simply be a coincidence."

Faulch abruptly clenches onto Wing's right hand, detaining both appendages' fast maneuvering, and swings his left foot upward at the Animal Tamer's jaw. The kick manages to connect as that dumbfounds Wing prior to Faulch delivering five more quick strikes with that limb at a close range without returning it to the current terrain, causing the ninja-wannabe's head to cock back repetitively like a bobble-head while the last one sent Wing skyward thanks to the Sealing Spellcaster letting go of his adversary's hand.

Wing does a curled back-flip while travelling roughly four meters from Faulch's location, lands his feet atop the concrete surface the building's roof is comprised of and caresses his lightly bruised jaw via his left hand after lowering his right limb as he says in meager frustration, "That's terrible, trying so hard to take my head off! It isn't a soccer ball, you know!"

Faulch had already dropped his foot as he took a brief reprieve to harshly swing his right arm and gets rid of the flock attacking said limb by forcing them to scatter. Having accomplished that, the dark-skinned individual eases his right arm downward while returning his concentration to Wing with minimal emotion emanating. "How about if I'm a fan of soccer? Wouldn't that justify my treatment of your head?"

Wing scoffs after slumping to his left a tad with dullness masking his expression while his birds fly to him, including the pigeon, as they circle over his head. "Everyone's a comedian." The Wilde Family member restores his posture and demonstrate a composed demeanor. "Anyhow, am I correct in it being a coincidence that you share the same eyes as Conner and Naoki?"

Faulch glances at the lower level behind him via directing his head to the left as he witnesses the continual difficulty and torment the citizens are having with Wing's numerous species of birds. With that, the shaggy-haired adult reverts his attention upon Wing while stating in a compassionate voice, although makes sure not to sound like he's pleading or displaying too much emotion, "I'll tell you so long as you call off your animals!" Faulch barely nudged his head in the civilians' vicinity when uttering that last part. "You'll definitely need every one of them to defeat me!"

Wing's quite astonished by Faulch's unexpected request until shutting his eyes again and nodding somewhat happily. "I accept." The wavy-haired man draws his right hand to his mouth, joining his thumb and middle finger like Fang did, so he could reverberate multiple kinds of whistles, one after the other. This gets all of the feathered creatures' focus as they cease their rampage and then hastily soar into the air to advance toward Wing while going pass Faulch without collision.

Faulch's attire flutters a lot due to the wind produced by the birds transgressing around him with his vision glued on Wing.

Not long after that, Wing has roughly two hundred birds gathered above his person while slowly reopening his eyes as sincerity can be noted. "I got to say... I respect those who are willing to sacrifice themselves for others..." His eyes reflect an almost psychotic gleam prior to the green-haired person earnestly shouting, "It gives God reason to forgive one for their sins and I'd love nothing more to help someone reach salvation!"

A hint of disdain appears on Faulch as he vaguely gyrates his ankles to loosen them without entirely removing his feet from the roof and lets out a scoff of his own. "I won't ever receive salvation, especially with these eyes I have. Allow me to clarify. I have no personal relationship concerning the two men you mentioned earlier. I've never officially met them, really."

Wing raises his right eyebrow out of curiosity. "So it's a coincidence then?"

Faulch restrains the hostility dwelling inside him the best he could manage. "Indeed, however, owning such eyes means we have one thing in common beside the obvious. We're cursed to serve other Spellcasters for as long as we live. If we don't, we'll die in a matter of days. That's what those who bare silver eyes must suffer through."

Wing's curiosity is replaced by confusion and nibbles his upper lip before inquiring, "Why is that?"

Faulch answers in a morbid tone, his head slightly lowered, as he keeps his eyes steadily upon Wing, "Because when you kill your entire family with your hands alone, for whatever logic there could be, it doesn't overrule that you went against the one who made us Spellcasters in the first place and that individual's plan. I eliminated them all and I became a slave as punishment."

Wing remarks in a stuck-up manner with his arms folded together. "That's what happens when you defy God and commit a terrible sin."

Faulch shakes his head while temporarily closing his eyes until establishing his sight back onto Wing again. "It wasn't God who I defied... You Saints need to come to terms with something... We, Spellcasters, aren't... God's children."
