Episode 10: Vocalizing Souls

*Starting Scene*

Leaving Icela behind after making their way down the mountain, the journey out of Tundra is a long one with Dante, Ilya and Yuki having no choice besides traversing by foot on a terrain easily described as a frozen wasteland since there wasn't any faster method for them to go to Velkry. Ilya had dreaded this a lot, still not being a fan of the climate's randomness, while tempted multiple times to ignore her brother's request of refraining from summoning him as he's likely dealing with his own mission, however, managed to restrained herself. What really was sending the light-skinned chick near the break of insanity is the plain fact that both Dante and Yuki aren't bothered by the weather's intense condition whatsoever, even when they couldn't find appropriate shelter during severe snowstorms that unexpectedly hit them. Fortunately, the trio would discover a cave from time to time to sufficiently survive those blizzards.

Finally, following three days of walking, Ilya couldn't keep her frustration at bay anymore, abruptly halts as her legs are submerged in roughly a foot of snow and yells with her eyes closed while situated behind the others, "I can't take it!" She wraps her arms around herself, uncontrollably trembling with her head lowered. "This cold is too much! Plus, my body continues to be a bit sore from my battle with that stupid-haired perv!"

Yuki issues Ilya a criticizing look, her left hand upon her hip, while poised to Dante's left from Ilya's perspective. "Really? This is nothing."

Ilya glares at Yuki. "Of course you'd believe that! You're an Ice Spellcaster! It would've been weird if you were cold!"

Dante innocently raises his right hand a tad. "I'm not either."

Ilya grovels amidst viewing Dante out of the corner of her eyes, "That's because you ARE weird..." The white-haired character slants her head rearward while letting out a distressful cry. "Ahhh! I merely want a place that's nice and warm, so I can take a bath!"

Annoyance envelopes Yuki and stomps her right foot onto the snowy landscape. "You were warned that it would be a while until we got to the next city! Icela's in a fairly desolate area! Stop whining! If anyone should be complaining, it ought be me! I've never left the castle! Not even when I was small!"

Ilya focuses on Yuki with skepticism showing as she tries hiding a smirk. "You mean when you were smaller."

An enraged scowl overcomes Yuki while advancing towards Ilya a little. "Don't bring my height into this! Anyhow, you sure do complain a bunch for someone who's used to traveling!"

Ilya swiftly retorts in an angry manner. "Not in this kind of weather!"

Yuki pokes fun at Ilya, putting both hands underneath her eyes to pretend to cry. "Oh, boo-hoo! Woe is Miss Know-It-All! She can't handle this petty weather that can be a WHOLE lot worse." She proudly laughs following her planting both hands on her stomach while tilting her head back with her eyes shut.

Ilya's fury overflows as the hazel-eyed teen does her best not to literally strangle Yuki. "Just be quiet already!"

Dante chuckles at Ilya's behavior, sinking his right hand into his pants' pocket and directs his attention to Yuki. "You have that map your father gave you, right? Let's check how much we got left before reaching the next city."

Yuki's personality radically alters after hearing Dante's words while quickly confronting him with her hands dropped to their respective regions and happily nods. "Sure!" The individual rummages through her rectangular-shaped purse's confines via her left hand as the object's hoisted on her right shoulder.

Ilya's quite irritated by Yuki's attitude changing as she thinks, "That freaking brat...! Acting completely different only because it's Dante!"

Yuki soon locates the map and pulls it out to read with both hands firmly holding it due to there being a decently strong wind in addition to the constant snowfall that currently isn't too bad. "Okay, we're presently going Northwest from Icela, considering the city called Luckson is right outside of Tundra." The princess sets her sights onto Ilya with a patronizing grin. "And once we exit the country, Miss Know-It-All will no longer be cold. We'll be in Desierta and she'll finally quit whining."

Ilya's left eye briefly twitches while her irritation spikes and slouches forth. "Simply tell us the distance!"

Yuki delivers a frustrated glare toward Ilya as she hastily aims her right hand's thumb behind herself. "It's right over there!"

Confusion plagues Ilya prior to hurriedly rushing pass Yuki and Dante by going between them while searching for their destination five meters in front of the pair. "Where?!"

Dante chuckles from amusement. "Take about 10 more steps."

Ilya glances at Dante until deciding to listen to Dante's advice, concentrates ahead of herself again and slowly journeys that way. Not long after, the accessory-wearing female finds herself at the outskirts of Luckson as there are countless, modern-day buildings and bright lights emanating with a swarm of people roaming inside. Despite the sudden reveal of this impressive city, Ilya's mainly dumbfounded at the snowfall being bordered less than a meter from her rear and onward is nicely warm, although it's night-time now.

Simultaneously, Yuki and Dante walk up beside Ilya while abruptly amazed at Luckson's appearance as they exclaim together, "Whoa!"

Ilya snaps her vision to her companions with mild concern mixed in. "Hey! What's with the weather?!" She then notices the snow behind her, forcing her eyes to widen out of astonishment. "This makes no sense!"

Dante calmly gazes at Ilya out of the corner of his left eye due to having stationed himself toward her right while facing Luckson. "Did you already forget, Ilya? Tundra, based on where it's positioned in the world, naturally would have possessed a warm climate like this. Thanks to that, Such an odd phenomenon occurs here."

Ilya shifts her attention toward Dante before recalling a specific detail. "Oh, yeah! The sole reason it's snowy is..." The teen trails off as she cautiously looks at Yuki while slightly nervous since Ilya comprehends the subject they're teetering on is a very delicate one.

Luckily for Ilya, Yuki's so immersed by the magnificent ambiance of Luckson that she didn't hear anything prior to swiftly turning toward her left to confront Dante as the dame's at his right. "Let's go! This is the first city, other than my own, I've ever been to! I wanna' witness everything it has!"

Dante sincerely nods at Yuki. "I know the feeling." He reverts his focus to the city while entering with Yuki gleefully following him.

Ilya temporarily observes the duo's progression until smirking and then makes her way into Luckson too.

*Scene Change*

Upon the three friend's entrance of Luckson, a vast variation of buildings with many advertisement signs can be seen as the streets are overcrowded by people and horse carriages since that's the primary transportation method available. Meanwhile, Dante, Ilya and Yuki journey further into Luckson before discovering a giant parade traveling along the road, resulting in those watching to stand on the sidewalks to not interfere, with even an incredible circus act being performed atop multiple floats while loud band music reverberates. The sheer sight of this forces a bewildered expression onto the trio while joining the crowd and took total enjoyment in it. An hour later, they parted from the spectacular display as the three companions  wished to check out more of Luckson while also asking around for an easy way to Velkry. Sadly, not much fortune befell Dante, Ilya and Yuki, considering most of Luckson's civilians are ordinary people who don't care for Spellcasters. Because of that, the trio persisted their observation of the city until arriving at a giant mall near Luckson's center that effortlessly tantalized both girls' desire to shop.

Yuki and Ilya rush inside the facility while having practically dragged Dante with them due to him not finding a mall interesting at all. Eventually, they reach a unisex clothing store, where Yuki takes it upon herself to try a new wardrobe and is currently within the lady's dressing room after gathering a dozen outfits.

At the same time, Dante depressingly gawks at Ilya with his posture slumped a little and questions during the hazel-eyed beauty's selection of a couple of men's wear as she seems substantially cheerful, "Do I really need to get clothes?"

Ilya nods at Dante with her eyes shut as she's angled sideways. "Mm-hmm! You seriously do!" She reopens her eyes, points her left hand towards Dante's attire while holding what she has chosen for him in her right arm and says with faint firmness, "Merely look at yourself."

Dante blandly peers at his clothing that's moderately scorched-up from his fight with the Burn Troop, despite washing at the castle, prior to resetting his concentration toward Ilya while shrugging. "What?"

A scowl immediately shows on Ilya's person following her fully confronting Dante and replies in a growl. "Don't make me hit you..." The chick tosses some of the apparel at the blonde as she speaks in a commanding tone. "Now check how these fit!"

Having barely caught the clothes, Dante gives off a confused demeanor with his head cocked toward the left. "Why are you upset?"

Ilya hurriedly marches up to Dante as she fiercely retorts while clenching both hands. "I'm not!"

A nervous grin establishes itself while Dante steadily moves backwards from Ilya, motioning his hands in front of the teen to quell her wrath. "Okay, okay, okay. You aren't." He swiftly turns away and runs off. "If it'll make you happy, I'll do it, okay?" The green-eyed gentleman heads into the men's dressing area, which is right next to the lady's, with only a navy blue curtain shielding those in them from visibility.

Ilya giggles at Dante's reaction and thinks with her arms entwined, "That was very adorable."

Not long after that, Yuki slides one of five curtains for the women section, positioned to the far left from Ilya's viewpoint, as she's endowed by a pink corset with a tiny ribbon at the middle of her chest. In addition, the teen possesses a dark blue skirt reaching to her knees while decorated by a few small, pink, triangular designs and pink stitching on the edges with a matching, cotton-material jacket that's a tad big for her while there's no way to be closed. Also, Yuki's wearing pink stockings and short, blue boots due to accepting that, even though she's accustomed to walking in thick snow, traveling in heels will ultimately bother her feet. Finally, the Ice Spellcaster went from her hair-braided style to twin-tails via decently long, pink ribbons tying them as she took off her tiara since it could easily link her with royalty and doesn't want that to be discovered for the sake of not becoming targeted by individuals' greed.

A second later, Yuki adjusts her purse around her right arm with it wielding many of the girl's valuables, including her tiara, amidst locating both hands behind herself while exhibiting a cute smirk and asks Ilya, "How do I look?"

Ilya's eyes narrow as she analyzes Yuki's selection with an agitated conduct and thinks, "What's with the overdone change?! Who is she attempting to impress?! And where the heck did she get those hair ribbons?!"

Before Ilya had the opportunity to answer Yuki's inquiry, Dante emerges from the far right region from Ilya's perspective and is ahead of the third male dressing room out of five with both hands atop his cranium while portraying a plain behavior. "Is this better, Ilya?"

Ilya and Yuki direct their focus to Dante prior to being awestruck, compliments of his new wardrobe.

Dante's attire is comprised of a dark brown, short-sleeved, V-Neck hoodie with red laces to tighten the hood, a red long-sleeved, silk shirt underneath that significantly demonstrates the anterior of the young man's collarbone and the same type of dark brown jeans he usually uses as these are held by a red belt.

A few moments of silence transgress until Ilya snaps out of her trance via rapidly shaking her head while responding with a delighted smile. "Definitely!"

Dante drops both hands to his sides as skepticism plagues him. "You sure?"

Yuki suddenly appears in front of Dante, unable to hide her admiration, and mildly blushes. "Yeah! You look magnificent!"

Dante chuckles prior to shifting his attention from Yuki while lightly scratching his right cheek with the hand that corresponds to it. "Well, thank you." He gazes at Ilya out of the corner of his eyes. "Both of you."

Ilya maintains her attitude as she sharply nods.

Yuki injects herself into Dante's field of vision to flaunt what she's wearing. "How about me, Dante?!"

Dante keys onto Yuki with surprise arising and lowers his right hand. "Wow, Yuki! You're really pretty!"

Yuki's greatly caught off guard by Dante's statement before mounting both hands over her face while frantically jerking about while releasing a handful of squealing noises. "Oh, my God! Oh, my God! Dante actually said that! I can't believe it!"

Dante laughs after closing his eyes. "Yup. I did."

Concurrently, sadness dwells inside of Ilya as she quietly witnessed the pair's discussion, and with that, decides to deviate her concentration from them while uncrossing her arms. Then, the white-haired girl goes toward the store's exit while blandly commenting without instilling her sight upon Dante and Yuki, "I'm going to get us a place to stay the night." Ilya ceases her mobility while six meters from her companions. "Yuki, you have the bill covered, correct?"

Yuki rests her eyes onto Ilya with a carefree personality, confronting the Velkry native, and has her arms extended toward opposite sides. "Of course! It's the least I can do after all you two did for me and my father!"

Ilya rebuttals. "Excellent. Once I'm done, I'll search for you both to get something to eat. Afterwards, we'll go to bed to depart early tomorrow." She resumes her advancement out of the store without allowing any reply from either Dante or Yuki.

Yuki puts her hands on her hips while slanting her head to the left as she keeps her vision upon the sector Ilya recently passed through. "What's with her?"

Dante folds his arms with a small quantity of concern surfacing and travels sufficiently to stand toward Yuki's left. "Don't know. When we first met, I implemented a seal onto her that prevents me from hearing her thoughts." He glances at the princess. "It was the lone way for her not to have anything to complain about during that instance. Though, I'm not too positive if there's something else she'd like to throw at me."

Yuki slightly shrugs her shoulders prior to nonchalantly messing with her bangs to make them neat via a rectangular mirror that's towards her right. "She probably does, but it's probably stupid." The dame softly laughs as she finished fixing her hair and smirks at her reflection.

Dante vaguely sighs, veering himself towards Yuki, as he blocks her path from depicting the mirror. "I kinda' doubt that. Anyway..." The lad leans toward Yuki with a charming smile. "It won't alter how I feel. Whether you two come to hate me or find me to be nothing but trouble, I'm not gonna' leave either one of you alone."

Yuki's eyes widen with shock while embarrassment is mixed in as her coloring grows bright red until crafting a tough facade and abruptly navigates her focus to the right. "Hmph. Whatever."

*Scene Change*

After spending a little longer in the clothing store, Yuki paid for both her and Dante's attire as the human ended up also liking the other outfits Ilya chose and kindly requested Yuki to buy them. Since it was Dante inquiring, the teen couldn't even consider the possibility of rejecting him as they ultimately leave the store. Then, the two individuals explored the mall a bit more prior to going back out to verify if Luckson had anything else to offer while Yuki took this to be like a date, making her really happy. This lasted until Ilya unpredictably appeared before the duo, with a two-floored motel not too far away as their temporal housing. Having momentarily went to the air-conditioned, motel room positioned near the farthest section of the second floor's east side, with beige railings for safety purposes, Dante and Yuki drop off the bags of clothing they were carrying so the travelers can go to eat without a single worry. During their exit of the room, it's notable that the tiny region's comprised of three beds that are almost crammed together.

Once they come across an impressive restaurant, with Yuki offering to cover expenses, the trio sit in a circular-shaped table wielding a fine, intricate, white fabric as the blue-eyed girl and Ilya are across from each other while Dante's stationed adjacent to both of them. Simultaneously, there are many people surrounding them at other similar tables while Ilya and Company await for the waiter to take their order after having guided them.

In the meantime, Dante can't contain himself, simply astonished by the extravagant decorations that goes with a typical fancy restaurant, while holding onto the menu via both hands. "This place kind of reminds me of your castle, Yuki!"

Yuki scoffs, rolling her eyes. "As if." She scans the area. "The dining room alone puts it to shame."

Ilya sighs out of dissatisfaction with her eyes shut. "You seriously are a spoiled brat."

Yuki slams her hands upon the table amidst getting to her feet and hastily contorts toward Ilya with anger radiating. "I'm not!"

Ilya swiftly rises to her feet, reciprocating Yuki's action exactly, with both of their face just inches away from one another. "Stop acting like one then!"

The dames both grit their teeth with mild growling sounds produced as Dante cautiously intervenes, having rest his menu atop the table. "Okay, you two. Take it easy. You don't wanna' get kicked out, do you?" He glances over at the numerous groups residing in the restaurant, all watching them with curiosity brimming.

Ilya and Yuki turn a light shade of red while quite flustered by the attention they're receiving prior to promptly sitting back into their chair.

After that, with the onlookers returning to their own conversation, Dante smirks in amusement until once again admiring the restaurant's confines and displays interest. "Now that I let it fully sink in..." He instills his focus onto his friends. "Why is this city so different from Velkry and Icela?"

Yuki's the first to answer after briefly pausing to put some thought into Dante's question with her arms crossed. "Well, Icela may be the capital of Tundra, but I do not think it has much to do with how prosperous it is." She diverts her gaze from Dante. "It's mostly because that's where the king of the country always lived."

Ilya joins in with faint worry established as she draws closer to Yuki a tad. "It shouldn't be that way. A capital is to represent everything that country stands for. How do you expect anybody to respect your country, if you merely leave stuff like that without accounting the well being of its people?"

Yuki becomes substantially annoyed while glaring at Ilya. "We do!"

Ilya shakes her head. "I don't think so. Do you realize, while you and your father were comfortably living in your giant, warm castle, that down in Icela the civilians weren't as blessed and possibly were struggling?"

Dante's eyes grow dull, not enjoying the discussion whatsoever. "Ilya, stop."

Yuki tightly clenches her hands together after perching them on top of the table, lowering her head with rage overflowing, and grinds her teeth as she softly speaks. "What do you know...?! You have no idea of what I've been through...!" The princess snaps her head up with tears nearly forming as she shouts in anger, "You don't comprehend anything!"

Everyone else within the restaurant direct their sight towards the trio again with concern. Not much after, a young, fair-skinned, pretty waitress with super short, brownish/green, spiky hair and brown eyes hurries to them while fairly stressed out. Following that, she leans towards the three characters while possessing a clipboard close to her small chest via both hands as she seems very nervous. "A-Are... You all... A-Alright?! I-I'm sorry... I-If the service... I-Is taking long...!"

Yuki instantly plants her rear onto her chair as she wipes her eyes while replying in a defensive voice. "Nothing! Nothing at all!" She issues the waitress a stern look, folding her arms a second time.

Dante releases a depressed sigh while thinking, "Well, this isn't going too well..." The Caucasian glimpses at Ilya and thinks, "And you're pretty dense if you haven't figured out yet how many hardships Yuki has withstood... Even after what I told you about her in the guest room."

The waitress shyly grins and shuts her eyes. "Uh... Alright." The brownish-haired chick reopens her eyes while attempting to gain a bit of composure as she grabs a hold of a black pen attached to the clipboard. "Then, if you all are prepared to order..."

Dante interrupts as he gestures at the waitress via his right hand. "Can you come here a moment? I got something to ask you."

The waitress hesitates before complying with Dante's request while standing to his right. "What is it, sir?"

Dante politely inquires with a smile, "If it isn't any trouble, would you please tell me about Luckson? Example: why does it look extremely different from other cities I've been to and how does it attract so much attention?"

The waitress slants her head left and is confused until clearing her throat while rebutting with a firm demeanor as she drops her hand containing the pen. "Luckson is the way it is thanks to Tundra."

Curiosity immediately encompass Dante, Yuki and Ilya as they retain their gaze on the attractive waitress.

Registering the trio's undivided focus, the brownish-haired female gently mounts the clipboard upon the table, joins both hands to have them ahead of herself while lowered and continues her explanation. "You see, when Tundra's weather changed, everybody had assume it'd blanket the entire continent. That obviously didn't transpire. Once they realized that, this city that was in the process of being built, was dubbed THE LUCKIEST CITY after narrowly avoiding the same fate Tundra is currently suffering."

Dante glances at Yuki as he witnesses a somber expression on the teenager prior to the the lad reverting his concentration to the waitress. "So, that helped Luckson be a tourist attraction, inspired countless brilliant advancements for entertainment purposes, including the many casinos all over the city, and brought the naming of it, right?"

Amazement rapidly plagues the waitress. "Right! Good guess!"

A scowl takes shape onto Ilya and Yuki as they give Dante an aggravated glare while slouching forth amidst thinking in unison, "He read her mind, didn't he...?!"

Dante promptly delivers toward the waitress a charming grin while cocking his head to the right with his eyes closed. "Thank you." He straightens his head while making eye contact with the brownish-haired person. "And thank you for answering my question."

The waitress vaguely blushes as she grows very timid due to Dante's conduct. "Y-You're w-w-welcome!" She abruptly recalls a detail with her eyes widening while peering skyward before resetting her vision onto the three companions. "Oh! And p-please no more yelling..." The waitress motions at the multiple groups around them with her right hand. "We do h-have other guests."

The two girls are swiftly filled with shame as they nod while declaring at the same time, "Sorry!"

The waitress also nods prior to turning away and leaves for several seconds. This is soon followed by the dame urgently rushing back to the trio's table while picking up her clipboard that remained atop it. "I deeply apologize! I forgot to take your order!"

Dante chuckles. "It's fine." He then shows the young woman the menu in his right hand since the waitress' situated to his right again and points at its confines via his left hand. "I want everything here, please."

All three ladies' jaw hang from disbelief while yelling at once, "Eh!"

Dante smirks with his eyes closed, not uttering a single word.

*Scene Change*

Concluding the meal that rendered practically everybody in the restaurant awestruck because of Dante's immense, fast consumption of all that was brought to him, the three comrades return to the motel as Yuki silently complained to herself about how she hadn't predicted spending so much money while neglecting the fact that Dante could hear her thoughts. This leads to sadness overrunning the blonde due to understanding that he's at fault. Not long after, each one takes a shower and put the clothes they were wearing back on, except for Ilya who felt the intense urge to wash her clothes after going a few days in the same apparel, which she didn't like whatsoever.

That forces Ilya to borrow some of Yuki's clothes while washing her dress in the first floor, hanged them to dry at the back upon completion. Eventually, the trio are atop their own bed, wearing their respective wardrobe and quietly wait to fall asleep, however, that may not come easily thanks to the noise occurring outside, despite there not being any windows within the quarters.

Simultaneously, Dante lies between Ilya, who's towards his right, and Yuki as he blankly stare at the ceiling with his limbs extended out onto the bed. Soon enough, the green-eyed gentleman lightly tilts his head toward the left while a hint of interest arises and speaks in a low volume. "Hey, Ilya."

Ilya removes the pillow that she had put over her head to blot out the ruckus, gives Dante a mildly frustrated look as she's on her left side with her arms now wrapped around her pillow that's pressed against her torso and whispers in case Yuki's already sleeping, "What?"

Dante slowly directs his gaze to Ilya without moving his head. "What do people do in a casino?"

Ilya becomes a bit confused. "You don't know what a casino is?"

Dante nods while navigating himself to his right to confront Ilya with both hands under his head as pillows. "Yeah. When I heard the waitress' thoughts, a casino was on her mind, but I really don't know what that is."

Ilya emanates a bland conduct and thinks, "I called it..." She sighs with her eyes temporarily closed prior to resuming her depiction of Dante with a calm demeanor while gingerly commenting, "It's a place people go to gamble to win money. Of course, it involves betting your own money. Losing tends to happen more than winning though."

Dante's eyes widen a little out of astonishment before leaning onward to get near Ilya. "Really?! How much does someone need to make bets?"

Ilya shrugs. "It depends on what's the minimum or the game. Playing the slot machines when you're low on resources would probably be the best from what I learned, however, I've never gambled. This is actually the first time I've been to a city with casinos." The chick peers at the wall above her head. "I wouldn't advice it. I heard people grow addicted." Ilya establishes her concentration back to Dante with suspicion surfacing. "Why did you want to know that in the first place?"

Dante grins. "I thought it might be fun."

Ilya delivers a dirty glare toward Dante as she harshly retorts while sustaining her voice down. "No!"

Confusion engulfs Dante's expression. "But-"

Ilya cuts Dante off. "What did I say about gambling?! It's addicting!" The beauty tries to compose herself. "Anyway, we're getting up early to journey to the next city that may assist us in reaching Velkry quicker."

Dante releases a dissatisfied groan, keeping his volume in check. "Do we have to...?"

Ilya simply watches Dante with anger building.

Dante roles his eyes while angling himself upon his posterior to view the ceiling once more. "Fine, you win."

Ilya relaxes her personality with sympathy portrayed. "Let's merely go to sleep, okay?"

Dante doesn't respond amidst shutting his eyes.

Having accepted that as a yes, Ilya closes her eyes too and enters into a deep slumber after several minutes.

With Ilya unaware of it, Dante stayed awake and suddenly opens his eyes while showing a sinister smile. A few moments later, the wavy-haired male sneaks out of the motel room while successfully not waking either girls and rushes from the motel's vicinity via its stairs that are at the other end. Following a brief search, Dante ultimately discovers a large building named "Lady Luck Casino" as it's close to the city's limits while surrounded by a vast number of other structures, somewhat camouflaging the casino. Bewildered by only the anterior, the lad can't help feeling a surge of excitement consume him until pulling a few dollar bills and remarks to himself, "Sorry I took this without permission, Yuki... I'll be sure to make up for the money you spent on me and maybe with a bonus." Dante joyfully smirks, shifts his vision to the casino and hastily goes inside.

Concurrently, at the motel where Ilya's peacefully sleeping onto her stomach, Yuki abruptly awakens while swiftly sitting upright on her bed and then scans the room's darkness with her eyes trying to adjust to it. After a couple of seconds, the teenager finally gained sufficiently visibility as she promptly realizes that Dante's not atop his bed, checks the confines again while quite concern since it's obvious he isn't in sight, mounts her gaze to Ilya and yells via a distraught tone, "Miss Know-It-All! Wake up!"

Ilya frantically rises as she utilizes both hands for leverage and is unable to see anything while jerking her head around. "What, what, what?! What is it?!"

Yuki exits her bed to turn on the light switch near the room's doorway that's toward the blue-eyed girl's left prior to facing Ilya. "Dante's not here!"

Ilya gawks at Yuki, clearly tired, and yawns while leisurely uttering with her left hand over her mouth, "Don't worry..." She drops her elevated appendage while slumping back into her bed. "He probably went out for a drink or something."

Yuki attempts to let out a reply, however, finds reasoning in Ilya's words while nodding as she's about to switch off the light via her left hand. "You're most likely right."

Before the princess could though, Ilya snaps her person upward again from panic as she rapidly veers her focus to Yuki while poised at the edge of her bed. "Unless he...!"

*Scene Change*

Dante roams within the Lady Luck Casino, witnessing the countless sums of people dressed in formal attire and different games one could play for money. Just as always, the young man can't restrain his amazement whenever he registers a detail he isn't familiar with and cheerfully thinks, "This is so awesome!" Dante quickly gyrates himself around to attain a glimpse of everything as he advances through swarms of individuals. Suddenly, the blonde hears a distinctive melody at a fair distance off to his left that either the crowd couldn't hear because of the casino's loud noise or no one else cared to listen while curiously muttering after halting himself from going any farther the direction he was originally going to focus upon the music's trajectory, "That... Sound..."

Having said that, Dante calmly walks towards the music's origin while soon finding himself in a theater room with twenty rows of seats that are unfortunately empty as the melody had ceased playing. Not long afterwards, the human looks down at the end of the only vertical pathway extending to the stage that divides the rows into two sections and immediately sees a husky couple standing together on the wooded stage people would use to perform in a theater. The pair are comprised of a Caucasian man and woman, quite similar in appearance since both contain dark hair in addition to their light green eyes with the guy being an inch taller. This also puts him a couple of inches taller than Dante as they're notably in their 40s.

For what the duo are wearing, the man has on a white suit and matching shoes with a red rose sticking out of the small pocket located on his left pectoral as his short hair is neatly combed backwards via the use of gel.

Meanwhile, the woman to the male's left possesses really sleek hair reaching her shoulders as she's endowed in a fine-material, jet black dress to contrast her partner with a red rose attached to her right breast region and black heels.

After accounting the couple's physique, Dante keys onto a decorative sign hoisted to the room's right side that reads, "The Charisma Duet" while eventually reverting his sight toward the two characters as the music resumes with a giant, vinyl curtain opening in the background to reveal a decently-sized orchestra, playing "Fly Me To The Moon" by Frank Sinatra.

The duet face each other while holding both hands as the husky man sings with a deep, soothing voice that radiates throughout the entire room, "Fly me to the moon... Let me play... Among the stars... Let me see what spring is like on... Jupiter and Mars."

The woman continues the song for her partner with a beautifully, majestic voice. "In other words, hold my hand... In other words... Baby , kiss me..." She relinquishes her grip of the man's right hand to place her left hand over her heart. "Fill my heart with song and let me sing forever more... You are all I long for, all I worship and adore." The dark-haired female shuts her eyes, lowering her head in the process. "In other words... Please be true... In other words... I love you."

The orchestra perform without the duo singing for several moments until the couple join together amidst turning towards Dante's vicinity and continually hold hands with their other appendage simultaneously stretched ahead. "Fill my heart with song and let me sing forever more... You are all I long for, all I worship and adore." They gaze at one another out of the corner of their eyes. "In other words, please be true..." Both of them unite their free hand while making full eye contact. "In other words, I love you..." They take in a deep breath with the music gradually stopping. "In other words... I love you."

With the song done, Dante cheerfully smiles after closing his eyes while applauding the duo's performance.

In response, the husky pair contentedly grin before dropping their hands to bow in unison as they say, "Thank you." They then straighten their posture.

Dante replies with a nonchalant demeanor. "It sure was good, even though that song doesn't exist in this world."

The couple's about to deliver toward Dante another utterance of gratitude, however, caught what he mentioned and abruptly gawk at him with shock. "Huh?!"

Dante situates his hands atop his stomach while uncontrollably laughing at the duet's outburst with his head tilted rearward prior to chiming as he views them via his right eye solely opening, "Oh, it's nothing!" He moves both hands behind himself while kindly smirking.

The duo glance at each other with confusion brimming until nervously smiling at the wavy-haired gentleman. Then, the three of them exit the theater room, deciding to chat at a food court in the Lady Luck Casino, as the couple scarf down a meal Dante offered to pay for their performance.

It isn't hard for Dante to discern that the couple are very hungry, compliments of them eating reminiscent to the hoodie-wearing person, and comments with amusement while sitting across the duet in a square-shaped, marble table, "So, you two are married."

Taking that as a question, the pair issue Dante an intrigued look prior to glimpsing at their gold, wedding rings on both of their right hand, return their attention to the green-eyed fellow and happily nod. After that, the dark-haired guy motions at himself via his right hand while his eyes glimmer as he declares, "I'm Jeremiah Charisma." He points his right hand towards his partner seated at that exact direction. "This is my wife Claire."

Dante nods at the duo. "Nice to officially meet you both. I'm Dante." He locks his eyes onto Mr. and Mrs. Charisma. "I really did enjoy your singing."

Jeremiah sighs while picking at his food with the utensil in his left hand as his right hand's resting on the table. "You're probably the only one." The husky individual concentrates toward his food.

Claire peers at Jeremiah with a sad expression. "Don't say that!" She switches her focus to Dante and halfheartedly smirks. "It's understandable that people simply grow tired of listening to the same kind of music, night after night. We've been performing here for a few months now. We're under contract until half a year has passed, but..."

Jeremiah keeps talking on behalf of Claire, making eye contact with Dante. "We haven't attracted anyone after the first month. You're actually the sole person who've showed up and liked our singing since then. If we can't get people interested, the guy who hired us has nothing to pay with."

Dante slouches a little and radiates depression. "That's incredibly sad." He analyzes his surroundings and detects the swarms of guests. "I sorta' noticed how they were so oblivious to the music." Dante mounts his attention toward the couple while shaking his head in disapproval.

Claire nods as she becomes a bit ashamed. "Because of that, we had to resort to gambling with our first month's income. We've barely managed to survive." The husky lady glares at her husband, speaking in a growl, "And when we do win a fair amount, SOMEONE doesn't know when to call it quits!"

Jeremiah strives to act like he doesn't comprehend Claire's reference after deviating his vision from his wife while whistling to help play innocent.

That causes Dante to softly laugh for a temporary period before perching his left elbow atop the table to locate his chin on its hand and inquires with an idea scheming inside his head, "How much do you two have left?"

Claire answers with a mournful attitude. "Around $200, however, that's for lodging until we receive a decent pay or our contract expires, which occurs in a month."

Jeremiah drops his eating utensil, slams his left hand onto the table as he swiftly rises to his feet, tightly clenches his right hand once he elevated it to the height of his chest and firmly states towards the ceiling, "No! Tonight is the night Lady Luck will be on our side!" He instantly plants his gaze upon Claire. "We'll bet it all!"

A distraught behavior overwhelms Claire while confronting her male counterpart without leaving the chair, having one hand on it and the other atop the table for leverage. "Are you crazy?! Don't allow your foolish pride screw us out of a place to sleep!"

Jeremiah slaps both hands together, pleading to Claire with his head hanging and eyes shut. "Please, hun! You must trust me! I got a REALLY good feeling about tonight!"

Claire's on the verge of harshly rejecting Jeremiah's request prior to noticing Dante stand as she asks with a hint of worry while viewing him, "What's the matter, Dante?"

Dante confidently replies. "I think you oughta' trust him. After all, marriage is built on that, and if there's anybody to trust, it'd be the man you agreed to marry for better or worse."

Claire's deeply touched by Dante's speech while stationing her right hand over her heart. "Oh, Dante... You remind me of Jeremiah." The dark-haired woman glares at her husband again with wrath resonating. "Before he transformed into such a gambling addict!" Claire promptly relaxes by deeply inhaling while briefly closing her eyes and alters her sight to Dante with an accepting conduct. "Fine. Let's take a chance. This might be our last one though."

Dante gives Claire a thumbs up via his right hand. "Don't sweat it! Just have the right kind of faith!" He chuckles.

Jeremiah quickly fixes his posture to administer his concentration toward Dante with both hands still interlocked and nods. "Damn right!"
