Its Time

I am expelled from his body in the form of a black liquid, escaping before anyone can give me a second look. Now that I am out of the room, my body finally returns to its original form. I lean against a wall, staring at the floor. The animal craving from when I first met Jermaine returns, but this is time it is corrupted with rage. This is the last time I will be faced with defeat. "I will make him and the rest of his miserable species bow beneath me." I promise quietly to myself. I give a silent call to the other leaders of my army. The time for preparation has ended. The time for war has begun.

I stand on top of the building where our first meeting was held. My elite four looking at me for their next orders, but the only thing I ask of them now is to simply kill. Before that, I need to know how far they got with their previous orders. I turn to Alice, asking for her results.

"I've taken control of all the leopards in this city and neighboring cities. As of right now, I've hidden them. You only have to say the word and they'll attack anyone you want," Alice reports eagerly.

"Good job," I compliment, patting her head. She rubs against my hand, letting out a deep purr. At times like this, she reminds me more of a cat than a demon. Ending the affection, I look at Ari.

"What have you done with the time I gave you?" I demand.

"I've possessed as many people as my body will allow. Each of them has a part of me living inside of them. They are all subject to my command, but since I follow you, they also follow you," Ari explains. As he says this, I notice just how worn his body looks. His once white hair now has a grey tint to it. Black, tired bags hang from his red eyes. His slightly labored breathing tells me just how much strain his body is under. However, I feel no nervousness, knowing he can still fight. I nod in approval. I ask the next person for their report, which is Widow.

"I did as you said and visited the Guardian. It was easy getting him to talk," Widow says smugly, going on to say the info she uncovered. I smile, feeling a small victory over the fact that the humans were pretty clueless about us.

"Did you kill him?" I ask next, hoping the answer is yes. I watch that proud smile fade from her face.

"No...the opportunity arose, but I didn't take it," she answers sheepishly. I open my mouth to scold her, but she quickly interrupts me. "I like the way he tastes. When we win, I thought I might make him my personal slave." I sigh, but keep my mouth shut. I go on to Ace, but I am met with disappointment. I can tell he's done nothing, but feed his appetite.

"Do I even need to ask what you did?" I growl.

"I think you already know," he answers with a smirk. Disgusting. I push down my annoyance. There were victories today, even if Ace only thought about his own desires.

I move away from him, turning to the rest of my team. "How is the army doing? Are we ready to attack?" I ask suddenly. The look on everyone's faces tells me they didn't think I would ask such a question; not even Ace is quick enough to hide his surprise.

"Well, yes, but Iris what's the rush? I thought we were given more time." Widow dares to ask.

"You need to know my decision, not my reasons behind it," I answer, the tone of my voice warning her not to question me. She begrudgingly goes back to her position below me. The reason is hate, anger, jealously. Everything the humans are taught not to have, but it is the only thing I have. Jermaine strengthened those reasons when he defeated me, but this time he will be the one suffering not me.

"How soon are you planning on attacking?" Alice asks, the eagerness for war shining in her eyes. Finally, someone who is willing to fight for me no matter the time!

"Very soon. The moment the sun leaves the sky, the humans will feel our wrath," I answer. I watch as shocked expressions turn blood thirsty. "It's time, demons take the world they were always entitled to."
