“Kelvin won’t you come down here”. My mum screamed from downstairs.

What’s all this rubbish sef .

From Monday to Friday she keeps disturbing me .

It is a peaceful and calm Saturday but the woman I call my mother will not  let me enjoy my Saturday .

“Ma I am coming". I screamed loudly from my room before she will say I am being a brat . 

Come to think of it ever since my gruesome encounter with Erinfolami I can not deny the kind of subtle attraction I have been having towards her, yes I can not deny or argue the fact that Erin is beautiful and can cause any man to fall at her feet with her beauty but that still does not explain the  keen interest that I have taken in her .

It all feels wrong, the subtle affection and keen interest that I have taken towards her , but I can not help but feel somewhat duty bound to her , or more like her savior to help and direct her . To me all I am seeing is a girl tied to all the shackles of earth and only needs someone to free and rescue her.

Chisos Christ of Kogi! My stupid subconscious screamed .

The only thing that me I know you feel towards her is fear, someone that you will see and you would be shaking instantly, how many times have you been able to talk properly in her presence ? My subconscious mind queried.

Rolling my eyes at the truth coming from my subconscious I sighed defeatedly and decided to forget about a cute girl named Erin and enjoy my Saturday .

When I suddenly remembered that I still had not gone downstairs to meet my mum .

Holy macaroni! Somebody prepare my grave now .

Rushing down the stairs, I went downstairs only to be met with my mother boiling and frying with rage and the only word that could escape my mouth was “ Father, accept me into your kingdom , I know I have sinned but please forgive me and do not make me end up in hell . I can not go through hell on earth and still land in hell in my after life”.

With that said , I gulped loudly as I slowly approached my mum .

I got a little bit closer to my mom and was instantly bombarded with questions.

" I do not understand why a mother would call her son only to be ignored ehn ? Is that how much of a joke I am to you , I have been calling you for almost 15 minutes yet you behaved like I literally do not exist . Kelvin can you explain please ? " She retorted angrily .

It was at this point that I wished  that I had hearkened to my subconscious' repeated advice that I should work on my lying skills incase of times like this .

Subbie now where are you? I need your help please .

Like magic,  a suitable lie popped into my head and I was so grateful .
Opening my mouth I said to my mom" Mummy see it's not like that o , I was about to answer you when I slipped and fell then I hit my butt on the floor as I was now falling my hand now scatter the whole books on my table , as the books now fell water from my water bottle now pour as I now...

"Just shut it " my mum snapped at me .

She successful shut me up from continuing my endless rambling.

I knew that she had not bought my lie , so I had no other choice than to bow down my head in remorse.

"Mummy I am sorry , it will not happen again I promise " I pleaded gently .

That seemed to have solved the problem instantly because she replied with  " That is okay son, You know I can not stay angry with you ".

On hearing her words I rushed towards her in a huge embrace which she joyfully reciprocated .

If there is one thing I know it is I can and will never be able to reciprocate the equal amount of love that my mom showers me with.

With that being set aside, I looked at the dining table and saw exactly why she was disturbing me .
On the table was a delicious plate of Smoky Nigerian Jollof rice with beef, egg, chicken and Fri snails and plantain.

Father lawd!

I did not need to be told twice before I rushed to the table and enjoyed because even the way my tummy was grumbling ehn ...

As I dug my spoon into the rice , the smoke emitting from the food showing how hot the food is, clouded my face and the aroma was divine . I was about to put the food in my mouth when the ringing tone of my phone distracted me because it was blaring loudly.

Hissing very loudly,  I picked the phone and saw that it was Ifeoluwa calling me.

Why the heck is this Nigga calling?

Ifeoluwa and I barely talked like that. Though I have not had the chance to talk to most of them like that .

Ever since I had that passionate talk with Somto before well ... Erinfolami brutally beat me I have not really talked to anybody well, maybe because I was keeping my distance.

Answering the call, I was met with Ifeoluwa's voice amidst loud chattering.
"Hello, My G how far " Came Ife's voice from the other end"

"I dey ooo"

"I  just wanted to ask if you will have some time to spare, We as in,  a couple of the SSS 3 want to hangout so, I wanted to know if you will come."

Still skeptical I quickly replied" You know what Ife ? I am not sure yet . Let me quickly ask my mom then I will get back to you . Okay?"

" Oshey Omo Mummy " Ifeoluwa chipped in teasingly" .

Putting my hand over the phone I yelled to my mum that was inside the kitchen " Ermm , Mummy I have somewhere to be with my classmates more like a hangout . I just...

" You can go jare, I was beginning to think that you are anti social because I hardly see you with anybody".  My mum cut me off before I could even finish.

What is it with my mum just cutting me up ehen?

" Really! Awwn I love you so much Mummy. "I  giddily jumped up and down my chair .

Removing my hand over the phone I quickly replied Ife " Of course I'm coming . Just send me the address on WhatsApp. "

" Guy, wetin you dey chop , wey fill your mouth like this ehn" Ifeoluwa questioned amidst laughter . 

"Foodie"

"Thank you"

And with that I ended the call come to think of it , I do not think I have ever had any cause to go out any where or anytime except I am following my mum to her restaurant .

So for this first time I was really excited.

Quickly gobbling up my food , I belched , cleared the plates and dashed back to my room to get dressed.

I stood at the front on my neatly arranged wardrobe and finally decided after no much stress.

I wore a a Blue Shirt over a black crazy jeans , White sneakers, chain and wristwatch.

I neatly combed my hair , wore perfume and took one last good look at my self in the mirror.

"Good ness See fine fish pie"

I got out of my room and was already about to get downstairs when I remembered .

Oh shit .

I did not take my phone from the table in the room . I checked the address and stupid me forgot the phone afterwards.

Oh God !

Am I going to climb the stairs again bayi?

Na me you dey ask .

Accepting my fate, I quickly climbed up the stairs and took my phone and ran down the stairs again .

Urggggh

I was met with a smiling face from my mummy .

"Shey na me born this sexy boy" She asked playfully.

"Mummy , Leave me joor "

It is a lie o . I'm just blushing.

"Mummy , I am going already o. " I informed .

"Shey you already have the address ask the driver to drive you okay?"

And with that she literally shooed my out of her house .

I got into the car after showing the driver the place I was going to .

Zoom Zoom Zoom we went 😂😂😂
Please tell me that , that was funny. 😂

Chapter 21  done and dusted . Yay.

I am really sorry for the late update . 🙏 I was really busy with my midterm tests but we are on break now . So I SHOUlD be able to update regularly .
