Ch. Fifteen

Taehyung's POV

The whole time we sat there eating, I couldn't help but be worried about Jungkook. The way he had left so soon was just weird, in a way.

As I was walking home, I was thinking about whether or not it would be weird to be his friend. I mean.. We both have friends in the same friend group and now all of us hang.

It's not like we're complete opposite.

My thoughts were interrupted when I heard crying coming from a few feet ahead of me. At first I was scared to walk any further, but when I looked under the lamppost and saw Jungkook sitting on the ground crying, I walked faster.

I finally got up to him and knelt down next to him. He looked up at me and wiped his tears.

"H-Hi." He smiled weakly.

I frowned at the sight and sat next to him. I wrapped my arm around his shoulder and pulled him closer to me. I didn't hesitate to start rubbing his arm comfortingly.

"What happened?" I asked him.

I wanted to hug him and hold him until his tears went away as he looked up at me. "I- I fell.. a-and I hurt my finger." He cried.

I looked at his slightly swollen finger and scrunched up my nose, then smiled soon after. "Your finger looks more like a sausage." I tried not to laugh as he pouted.

Jungkook raised up his other hand and pushed me away from him. "Y-You're mean." He tried to hide his smile. I smiled even wider and took his hurt finger and held it up.

"Don't worry," I said as I brought his finger closer to my face. "I'll kiss it better." I said.

Sure enough, I brought his poor sausage finger up to my mouth and placed a small kiss on it, earning a stare from Jungkook.

His eyes were wide and cute as his mouth hung open. "T-Thanks.." Jungkook stuttered. He took his finger and slightly moved his other index finger against it slowly.

"Wanna go to the art class with me?" I suddenly blurted out without thinking.

Jungkook tilted his head and balled up his fist to wipe his tear filled eyes. "But it's Sunday, the school isn't open." He frowned up at me.

I shrugged at him and smiled. "So?"

"So?" He repeated. "We can't get in."

"Just come on." I stood up and grabbed his arm, forcing him to stand up next to me.

——

When we got to the school, it was already dark and nobody was near campus or near us. The classroom window was always open, so it wasn't hard to sneak past it. Jungkook was against it at first, but he finally gave in as I reassured him that we wouldn't get caught and that I always did stuff like this before.

We looked around for a clear canvas and paint brushes, wanting to do a "half Taehyung and half Jungkook painting" of whatever we wanted to paint on each side.

Turns out, Jungkook wanted to paint a bear and I wanted to draw something unique.

As I was painting my half, Jungkook stopped moving his brush to look at my side. "What on earth is that?" He laughed at my painting.

I pouted and huffed at him.

  "It's a half butterfly-half lizard." I said.

Jungkook covered his mouth and nodded his head. "That's a special mind you got there, Taehyung." He smiled at me. I squinted at his drawing and frowned deeply.

"Okay, you're better than me." I said sadly as I put my brush down and sighed. His painting was way better than mine, no doubt.

He walked over to turn off the lights, then he turned on the fairy lights that he had hung, giving us the blue tinted room again.

He then walked up to our canvas and smiled.

"Taehyung, it's really unique." The smile stayed on his face as he looked at me. "I wasn't laughing at your painting, I was laughing because I never pictured you to be so..."

The right words didn't seem to make it to his mind, so I smiled a fake smile and shook my head as he thought about it too much.

  "So.. weird?" I chuckled darkly.

Jungkook shook his head and furrowed his eyebrows at me. "You are not weird. Don't say that." He said sternly. I tilted my head at him and he looked away from me, his eyes holding emotion that had suddenly hit him hard.

I frowned and walked up to him, making his head turn towards me again. I moved my hand forward and grabbed Kook's shirt to pull him towards me. He stumbled towards me and landed into my arms, just like I wanted.

I wrapped my arms around his small body and smiled as I put my head on his shoulder.

"W-What are you doing?" He asked me as he held his arms away from me, confused as to what he was supposed to do at the moment.

"You just looked huggable." I shrugged.

After about a minute of silence, Jungkook slowly slid his hands around me, making my heart feel lightweight and my body calmer.

"Taehyung?" Jungkook broke the silence.

I took my hands away from his body and took a step back to look at him. "Yeah?" I asked.

"If I told you something, you wouldn't get mad.. right?" He tilted his head with a worried look on his face. I shook my head and furrowed my eyebrows at him. "Why would I be mad?"

Jungkook took his phone out and stared at it for a minute. I watched him as he put his phone back in his pocket and he sighed.

"Nevermind," He shrugged.

"Okay.." I brushed it off with him, trying to ignore the fact that his face went paler.
