Chapter 31 - Meeting the Weasleys
"Trust me Oliver, my family isn't that bad." Percy assured him.
"Have you seen your family, Perce?" Oliver crossed his arms.
"Yeah, every day." He shrugged,"Why?"
Oliver shook his head, "No, I meant- Nevermind."
"Come on, they're waiting." Percy began walking.
"Do we have to?" Oliver stopped.
"Yes, we have to." Percy grabbed his wrist.
"No- wait."
"Oliver. No more waiting." Percy knocked on the door.
"Percy!" Oliver tapped his arm.
"Oliver!" He turned as the door opened.
"Percy?" Fred answered the door.
"Hey, Fred." Percy smiled,"I've brought a guest."
"Who?"
"Stop hiding, he's not scary." Percy sighed, turning around.
"..Hi Fred." Oliver waved.
"Oh, Oliver. It's been a while." Fred nodded,"Well, don't just stand there. Come on in."
Oliver hesitated before he walked in with Percy.
"Welcome to our home." Fred leaned against the wall.
"I... Think I left something on my broom." Oliver went to turn around.
"Not so fast." Percy grabbed his collar.
Oliver gasped and turned around, "Sorry."
"I don't get what the issue is, every couple needs to meet the family." Percy sighed.
"Yeah, well your sister loves me, but threatened to kill me one time." Oliver pointed.
"Oh, she didn't mean it." Percy rolled his eyes.
"She burnt Julie." Oliver turned to him.
"It probably wasn't on purpose." Percy sighed.
Oliver gave him a look.
"Oliver, I promise, she won't hurt you." Percy sighed.
"Who won't hurt him?" Erica asked, a cup of coffee in her hands.
Oliver jumped and turned, "Hello... Erica."
"Oliver, fancy seeing you here." She nodded.
"Yes, fancy seeing you here too... Even though this is your house."
"Percy, why's he here?" Erica asked.
"I'm having him meet mum and dad." Percy answered simply.
"That sounds like it'll go swimmingly." Erica took a sip of her coffee.
"How has work been, Er?" Oliver asked.
"The usual, nearly blew up a shop thanks to someone." Erica shot a glance at George who was sat in the living room.
"Don't blame me!" George pointed.
"I told you to watch the fireworks!" She pointed back.
George rolled his eyes and lay back on the couch.
"The shop's fine." Erica sighed,"Oh, Charlie and Bill are home too."
"They are?" Percy turned.
"Mhm, decided to come home for Summer so I've been upstairs with Fleur for ages." Erica told him.
"So... Everyone is here?" Oliver sighed.
"Pretty much." Fred nodded.
"Oh, that's great." Oliver cursed.
"It is, isn't it?" Erica smirked,"I'm going to bring them through."
"Percy! Why don't we go out to the garden?" Oliver hummed.
"But my family's in here." Percy raised a brow.
"It's getting hot in here, don't you think?"
"Uh, not really. Are you feeling okay?" Fred asked.
Oliver crossed his arms and looked at Percy.
"It'll be fine, Charlie is so nice." Percy assured him.
"Fine." Oliver sighed.
"I heard my name?" Charlie walked down the stairs.
"Charlie... Nice to meet you." Oliver waved.
"Ah, you're Percy's little friend, aren't you?" Charlie smiled and patted Oliver's back,"Welcome."
Oliver bit his cheek at the pain, he didn't think Charlie meant to hurt him but Jesus he was strong.
"Thanks." Oliver smiled slightly and rubbed his back.
"Charlie, gentle." Erica looked up at him.
"What? I was." Charlie looked at his sister.
"I can tell." She chuckled,"Mum and dad are probably waiting."
"Right." Charlie nodded and walked through.
"Oh my god." Oliver held his back.
"Ha, I'm gonna start calling you weak spine." Erica smirked.
"He's bloody strong." Oliver pointed.
"Eh, you get used to it." Erica shrugged,"Now move those feet."
"Moving." Oliver walked into the room.
Inside was Arthur, sat with his coffee and a paper and Molly, cutting apple slices.
"Good morning... Mr and Mrs Weasley." Oliver spoke as he walked in.
"Ah, Oliver, is it?" Arthur looked up.
"Yes." Oliver nodded.
"Well, it's a pleasure meeting you." Arthur held out his hand.
"The feeling is mutual." Oliver shook it with a smile.
"Percy's told us good things about you." Arthur smiled back.
"He has?" Oliver glanced at Percy.
"Oh, yes." Arthur nodded.
"Dad." Percy covered his face.
"What does he say?"
"That you're so good at Quidditch and incredibly handsome." Erica rolled her eyes.
"Erica, be nice." Molly shot her a glare.
Oliver chuckled slightly, "I am quite good at Quiddich, I played with your twins."
"The Captain, if I remember correctly." Arthur nodded.
"Yes." Oliver smiled.
"Very impressive." Molly told him.
"Thank you, Mrs Weasley, as is your cooking, I've heard."
"Oh, it's not that good." Molly chuckled before sighing,"Charlie, put that down."
"Put what down?' Charlie hid it behind his back.
"That piece of chicken." She turned to him,"Which happens to be raw."
"It is?" Charlie asked, "I share food with the dragons all the time, it's fine."
"You're not like Bill, raw meat isn't good for you." Erica sighed.
"I'm alive, ain't I?" He nudged her.
"Barely." Erica rolled her eyes,"I can't talk, can I?"
"Not at all."
"Well, Oliver. Get talking, tell them about you two." Erica poked his shoulder.
"What?" Oliver looked at her.
"You and Percy." She whispered.
Oliver blinked, "Right..."
"Erica's right, Oliver and I have something to tell you all." Percy nodded.
"What is it?" Bill raised a brow as he walked in from the garden.
"Well, we, uh... We're a couple." Oliver closed his eyes as a glass smashed.
The two looked at where the smash came from.
"Charlie, you dropped my fucking cup." Erica crossed her arms.
"You two are dating?" Charlie asked.
"Yes, yes we are." Percy nodded.
"Who could've anticipated this?" Erica spoke sarcastically as she bent down to pick up the broken glass.
"Erica helped." Oliver pointed.
"Because neither of you would make a move. I swear, I've helped every romance aside from my own." She sighed.
"Oliver... Can you come here for a minute?" Charlie hummed.
"Oh, alright." Oliver stood up slowly.
Charlie walked out to the patio and leaned against it, "...You good to him?"
"Of course I am." Oliver nodded.
"Cause I hope you know, if shit happens in this family... You don't get away with it." Charlie tilted his head.
"I'm... I'm very aware." He sighed.
"Yeah? I'm glad. But hey, welcome to the family kid." He smiled.
"Thanks, Charlie." Oliver nodded.
"So how did Erica get you two together?" Charlie raised a brow.
"Well, she brought him to me when I was petrified and then stayed with him until I was able to reunite with him." Oliver explained.
"Cute.' Charlie smiled and patted his back, "Alright, let's head back in, yeah?'
"Yeah." Oliver nodded, he really hoped Charlie didn't do this often.
Charlie smiled approvingly before he walked back inside with him.
"Have fun?" Erica asked.
"Oh, yeah. Didn't we Oli?" Charlie nudged him.
"A lot of fun." Oliver agreed.
"Right, mum. You making dinner?" George walked to the kitchen.
"I am." She nodded,"Is chicken good?"
"Didn't we have chicken the-" He began.
Molly just stared George down.
"Of course chicken is good.' George nodded slowly.
"Good answer." Fred nudged him.
"We've had chicken three times now." George muttered.
"Don't mention it or we'll be eating you next." Bill whispered.
George nodded and walked off.
Bill smiled and sat down beside his dad.
"You alright Billy?" Arthur looked at him.
"Tired." He sighed.
"Have you heard of the way muggles deal with tiredness?" He turned to him.
"I don't think so, what is it?" Bill raised a brow.
That's when Arthur began to go into a long topic on muggles again.
"They seem nice." Oliver nodded.
"I told you they were." Percy reminded him.
"Erica keeps sending glares."
"Erica, stop it." Percy sighed.
"No."
"Please?" Oliver asked.
"You can't make me." She rolled her eyes.
Oliver thought for a second before he tilted his head, "What if I told your brothers and parents what you and Parker did back-"
"Stop talking!" Erica pointed,"Mainly because I'm not sure what moment you're referring to."
"In Hogwarts, back in 3rd year with a certain blon-"
"I set him on fire every year, be more specific." Eruca quickly covered her mouth.
Oliver smirked, "Will you be nice?"
Erica crossed her arms and looked away while Charlie just laughed at her.
"Be nice, Charlie." Bill nudged him.
"But it's funny, Bill." He chuckled.
"Not funny when I tell mum what you did with her flow-"
The knife Molly was holding stabbed into the cutting board. All the boys and Erica jumped, looking at their mother.
"Mum, we can talk about this." Charlie began backing up slowly.
"You did what to my flowers? It was you that ruined them?" Molly pointed the knife at him.
"Honey, put down the knife." Arthur sighed, completely unaffected.
"He ruined my flowers!"
"Yes, but-"
"You know how long I worked on them."
"I'm sure Charlie didn't mean it. Right, son?" Arthur turned to him
"Of course I didn't mum." Charlie shook his head quickly.
"See?" Arthur looked between them both,"Accidents happen."
"Do it again and you'll end up like Fred, with a broken leg." Molly pointed.
"Thanks mum." Fred just stood and nodded.
Molly smiled at him, "Right! Dinner."
"That's you learnt your lesson." Erica chuckled.
"Shut up." Charlie mumbled.
"Oh, you love me." She shook her head.
"Suppose I have to." Charlie nudged her and sat down at the table.
Erica rolled her eyes and sat beside him. Soon enough all the family sat down.
"Here you go." Molly began setting out plates.
"Thank you, Mrs Weasley." Oliver smiled.
"Oh, it's no problem, dearie." She smiled back.
Oliver hummed and looked at Percy, "I think I did good."
"You did very good." Percy chuckled.
Oliver squeezed his hand before everyone began eating.
