Chapter 2
Ty POV~
It's been 8 years since the first time I ever remember waking up. I woke up here, in this dank, musty hole of a closet in my brother's basement. When I had opened my eyes, I had no idea who I was and no memories if any kind. Then Luke had come in and explained who I was. According to him, I was his younger brother who was a fag and a screw up, who deserved to be beaten up and isolated from the world. My name was Ty Lox, and Luke just nicknamed me Deadlox, and I was 7 years old. Ever since then, I have been kept in this closet and I have barely ever seen any sunlight, making my skin very pale. Luke beats me up a lot, and sometimes he doesn't let me eat anything. Sometimes he also slices me with a knife. School is just me, sitting in my closet, reading textbooks and practicing what they say. Even though Luke says that I deserve these things, I don't believe him. The only friend in my life are my green and black headphones, which I had found hidden in my room along with an iPod. When I'm upset, I listen to music and it calms me down.
But I may have an opportunity to make new friends. Luke said that he was going to start sending me to school tomorrow. He is probably only doing it because the doctor told him to.
I sighed. I should probably get some rest before tomorrow. Thankfully, Luke bought all of the materials I will need. He even bought me some new clothes, even though they are just a bigger size of my old ones. Before I went to sleep, I looked in the small pice of glass that served as my mirror. A pale-skinned boy with crimson eyes and long brown hair stared back at me. The long scar on the left side of my face, stretching from the bottom of my temple to my jaw, was all too noticeable. It was there since before I woke up the first time. I pushed my bangs back into place, and almost the entire left side of my face was hidden, with my left eye partly covered. Perfect.
I laid down on the pile of ratty blankets that made up my bed, and fell asleep.
- time skip to 30 mins before the bus comes -
I woke up to Luke pounding on the door of my closet.
"GET UP, YOU'RE GOING TO MISS THE BUS!!!!" He yelled.
Oh no! I quickly pulled on a white v-neck long-sleeve shirt, gray jeans, and green and black sneakers. As an afterthought I put on the purple bracelets that Luke told me had been from our parents before they died. Then I grabbed my backpack and ran to the bus stop. I made it just in time. On the bus, I took the seat farthest in the back and pulled my headphones out of my backpack. I put them on, started a song, and tried to stay as unnoticeable as possible. Like last night, my bangs covered the left side of my face.
At the next stop,a kid who looked like he was 15 like me, got on the bus. He had dark brown hair and was wearing sunglasses, a gray and black shirt, black pants, and a purple amulet. To sum it up, he was handsome.
"Hey Sky! Over here!" A kid in a blue spacesuit with a jetpack called.
The guy named Sky walked over and sat next to him. Soon after they were joined by a bunch of other people. There was a guy in a robe, a bacca, a mudkip, a frog, three guys in suits and sunglasses (one of them with an amulet like Sky's) and two other guys in red and white checkered shirts and jeans (one of them with glasses).
'Wow, he has a lot of friends! He must be really cool, and not a weirdo like me.' I thought to myself, sighing softly. I wish I was like him.
Then I heard something interesting.
"Hey, I heard that there's going to be a new kid." Said the bacca.
"Ooh, I wonder what he's like! Do you think he just moved here? I mean, why else would he start halfway through the school year?" One of the suited guys asked.
"No, he didn't move here. He has been here all along." The guy in the gray robe said.
"Really? Do you think..." Sky said, but that was all I heard because he lowered his voice.
"Maybe." The robed guy replied, and Sky became visibly happier. He seemed to perk up in his seat.
When the bus stopped, I waited until everyone else was gone before I left. 'Great way to make friends, Ty.' I thought to myself. As I walked around outside in the courtyard, I noticed that there was a big oak tree with tons of bushes around the base. I went closer, and saw a small gap at the base of one bush. I checked the time. 20 minutes before my first class, that should be enough time. I crawled through the gap, and found myself in a hollow at the base of the tree. The tree had low branches, giving shelter and good footholds for climbing. There was moss covering the ground, and it was screened by bushes. It was perfect. I headed back out, resolving to return, and I headed to the office. Time to find out where my classes are.
