8 - No Colours and More Colours
Dean woke to see Castiel curled up beside him. Castiel had just decided to stay the night, calling Chuck to let him know where he was. Then they'd decided to just share a bed since there wasn't anywhere else to sleep in the house except a couch, which Dean refused to let Cas sleep on.
They'd spent most of the night sleeping with space between them, but now Castiel was curled into Dean's chest, one of Dean's arms around him.
Dean carefully pulled himself away without waking Cas, thinking back to the night before.
He seemed so nervous, Dean thought. Why? And then awkward whenever we got close...maybe he's just not used to having close friends. Does that mean we're close friends?
And he can see colour...he has a soulmate...Dean tried to ignore the sudden burst of disappointment at that thought. I've got my own soulmate, I can't fall in love with him.
Too late.
Oh shut up brain. We're just friends.
Castiel stirred behind him, and Dean turned to look down at him. Why are his eyes so blue? That's just unfair.
Castiel sat up, yawning and looking at Dean. "Hello Dean," he said, his voice low and gravelly from sleeping. And hell if that didn't turn Dean on.
"Hey Cas," Dean choked out. "I...I'll be downstairs if you need anything." And he sprinted out of the room, leaving Cas confused behind him. He got down the stairs and collapsed against a wall, breathing heavily. That had not just happened. He did not just get turned on by his friends voice. No way at all.
"Hey Dean," Sam said, who had just watched Dean run down the stairs and freak out. Dean looked at him with wide eyes. "Castiel still here?"
"Yeah why?" Dean asked, trying to act as normally as possible.
"Balthazar came by, wanted to talk to him."
"He did?" The brothers looked to Castiel who was standing at the top of the stairs. He'd fully woken up now, looking as he did on a normal day. "Why?"
Sam shrugged. "He didn't say. But you probably should go back." Castiel nodded. He walked down stairs to where Dean stood really awkwardly, still pressed against the wall.
"Are you okay Dean?" Cas asked, doing his adorable confused tilty head thing.
"Fine," Dean squeaked out. Cas gave him another look before walking through the house towards the front door. Dean followed.
"Thanks for going to the movie with me," Cas said. "And letting me stay."
"No problem," Dean said, smiling at Castiel. Cas smiled shyly back before leaving the house, letting Dean go into full freak out mode.
A minute later it got worse when the door bell rang and Dean remember Lisa was coming over. He was still a mess, having just gotten up.
He ran to the door and opened it, revealing a Lisa. She looked him up and down and raised an eyebrow at him.
"I...uh...slept in?" Dean said, more like a question than a statement.
Lisa giggled and walked into the house. "Well go sort yourself out, I'll just wait here." Dean smiled at her before running back upstairs.
In his room he threw on a new set of clothes and tried to quickly sort out his hair. A few minutes later he ran back downstairs to where Lisa was waiting.
"So what do you want to do?" Dean asked.
"Want to watch a movie or something?" Lisa suggested and Dean nodded.
"How about Guardians of the Galaxy?" Dean said and Lisa scrunched up her nose.
"Didn't really like that one," Lisa said. Dean gaped.
"Okay, have you ever seen Star Wars?" he asked and Lisa shook her head. Dean immediately went and grabbed the Dvd's and pretty much dragged Lisa to the couch. "You're not leaving until you have watched all three," Dean said. Lisa sighed.
"Are they really that good?" she asked.
"Yes."
For the next how ever many hours the original three star wars movies go for, they sat on the couch and watched the TV. At some point they stopped to get food at least, but Dean literally forced Lisa to watch it.
When they finally finished the last movie, Dean turned to Lisa. "So what did you think? Awesome or what?"
Lisa just kind of shrugged. "It was okay. I've seen much better."
Dean glared at Lisa, not caring at that moment that she was apparently his soulmate. "How can you not like it?!"
"I don't know, it's just not really my type of thing."
"Well then what do you like? And if you dare say one of these chick flick movies I swear..." Dean trailed off and Lisa didn't reply, giving Dean a kind of guilty look. Dean just sighed and flopped back against the back of the couch.
"Well I think I know something we'd both enjoy," Lisa said. Dean turned to her and barely raised an eyebrow before Lisa pushed her lips against his.
Dean was surprised for a few moments and didn't move, before realizing Lisa was still kissing him. So he did what any person who didn't know they were actually gay would do and kissed back.
He moved his lips against hers, moving his hands to rest at her hips. Lisa responded by moving on top of Dean so she was straddling him.
Lisa deepened the kiss to which Dean responded, although he was a bit reluctant for some unknown reason. They kept kissing like that for quite some time until Lisa tried to get her hands under Dean's shirt.
Dean pulled back. "Lisa, stop."
Lisa gave him a confused look. "Why?"
"Doesn't this feel like we're rushing things?" Dean said. "I mean if we're soulmates then supposedly we have forever."
Lisa sighed, annoyance flashing across her eyes. "Come on, you can't say you don't want this."
"I just...let's take things slow alright?" Dean was confused by his own words. He was denying the perfectly good offer to get laid, by a really hot girl too. What the hell is wrong with me?
"Fine," Lisa said. "Whatever you want." She kissed him again, lightly this time, and then pulled away to sit beside him on the couch.
At that moment, a certain moose walked into the room. Except something wasn't right.
"Sam what the hell happened to your hair?" Dean asked, looking incredulously at his brothers hair.
"What do you mean?" Sam replied. Lisa looked between them.
"I agree with Sam, I don't see a problem," Lisa said. Dean's eyes widened.
"You can't see that?!" he exclaimed. "I thought you could see colour!"
"I can," Lisa replied.
"Ok then, what colour is Sam's hair?"
Lisa looked at Sam, who stood there awkwardly. "Brown."
Dean groaned and put his head in his hands. "No. It's not."
"Wait it isn't?!" Sam said, putting a hand up to his head.
"No it's hot pink," Dean muttered and Sam spluttered.
"How?!" he said.
"Maybe someone messed with your shampoo," Dean said. "Go get it, I'll take a look." Sam ran off to the bathroom while Dean turned to face Lisa. "You lied to me."
Lisa sighed. "Yes I did. But that doesn't mean this can't work."
"I have a soulmate Lisa. Someone I'm meant to be with."
"Well then, who are they?"
Dean was silent. "I don't know," he said eventually.
"Look Dean. I'm not saying I'm going to take you from your soulmate, but if you're not ready for them and just want a casual relationship, then I'll be waiting." With that Lisa stood and walked out of the room, and Dean heard the front door open and close.
Sam walked back into the room and looked at the doorway. "So not your soulmate then." Dean shook his head. "I'm telling Charlie."
"Great, then she can rub it in my face too," Dean muttered. He took the shampoo bottle from Sam and squeezed a bit onto his palm. It was pink, just like Sam's hair. "Someone got to your shampoo. It's dye." Sam sighed.
"It was probably Gabriel," he muttered.
"Why would the Trickster want to dye your hair?" Dean asked. Sam shrugged, but he was obviously hiding something.
~~
Gabriel walked through the hallway of his house, pausing at Castiel's door. After a moment of thought he walked in.
"Heya Cassie," he said, looking at Castiel who was sat on his bed reading a book. Castiel looked up at him.
"What do you want Gabriel?" he replied.
"You're being suspiciously anti-social," Gabe said. "Something happen with Dean?"
"Why would something happen with Dean?" A wild Balthazar appeared.
"No reason," Castiel muttered.
"Nope you're hiding something," Balthazar said.
"Come on Cassie you can tell us." Satan joined the group.
Castiel winced. "No I think I'll keep this to myself."
"Castiel we're your family, you have to tell us." Hey look, Anna's here too.
"Please Cas?" Here's the youngest sibling Samandriel.
"You guys are just doing this to annoy me," Castiel muttered.
"Did you figure out who your soulmate was?" Michael being the only one to form a sensible conclusion. Now only Raphael was missing, but he was out at work.
Castiel didn't reply and everyone jumped to the same conclusion from that. And all started talking at once.
"Who is it?"
"Is it a guy?"
"Did you talk to him?"
"Does he know you're his soulmate?"
"Did you kiss?"
"Did you do the frickle frackle?"
Castiel simply sighed sadly and looked down at the bed. This shut up all his siblings who all turned to look at him.
"I know who it is, but he doesn't want a soulmate," Castiel said quietly. His siblings expressions turned to that of sympathy.
"Well we'll make him," Gabriel said. "I mean, by what his dad said I think he's already had rainbow glitter thrown at him, which means his family thinks he's gay, which means you have a chance."
"Wait you know who it is?!" Balthazar said.
"Tell us!" Lucifer almost shouted.
"Tell us so we can go...talk...to him," Anna said.
"It's okay Cassie we don't have to know," Michael said and the rest of them turned to glare at him. Except Cas and Gabe, Cas giving him a thankful smile. "Come on guys, leave Cassie alone."
At that moment the front door slammed open and an angry voice rang through the house.
"WHERE THE HELL IS GABRIEL NOVAK!?"
Everyone turned to look at Gabe, who had recognized that voice immediately.
"Shit, hide me," Gabriel said, looking around wildly. He settled on Castiel's wardrobe and dashed inside, closing it behind him. Moments later an angry moose appeared at the doorway.
"By any chance," Sam said, his voice low and dangerous. "Have you guys seen Gabriel today?" The siblings looked at him in fear. Except Lucifer. Because Satan does not feel fear.
"Nope," Lucifer said. "I think-" he was cut off by Castiel laughing.
They all turned to look at Castiel, and Sam just huffed in annoyance.
"Your hair Sam," Castiel laughed.
"Shut up I know," Sam muttered.
"What is it?" Balthazar asked.
"His hair is pink," Castiel said before laughing again. All the siblings snickered at this, and Sam almost growled.
"Where is Gabriel?" he repeated.
"Like we said, he's not here," Lucifer said. Sam looked at each Novak individually, watching their expression.
"Yes he is," he said eventually. Gabriel chose that moment to come out of the closet, diving through Castiel's open window and out of the house.
Before he got too far, he heard Lucifer say, "Actually I believe he just left."
Gabriel ran without stopping for a while, and then looked behind him and was glad to see no angry moose charging down the street. He caught his breath for a moment and then smirked. With his ever growing ability to see colours, he had seen the pink in Sam's hair. And that was definitely worth the effort.
Wait a minute, I can see colours?!
~~
I legitimately had so much trouble writing that Lisa and Dean scene...like wow that's hard. So maybe the complications there won't last very long. Well it seems like it ended already, but nope, I never end things that quickly.
And yet again, Sabriel was so close to actually talking. Oh and Sam has pink hair XD
Hey did you guys know that Fnaf 4 -- *throws iPad from Bonnie jumpscare* ...enough said.
