33 - School's Out
Let's time skip the hell outa this.
Okay maybe that's too much.
Here, have a small time skip.
~2 months later~
Gabe woke up in Sam's arms as he always did, Sam pressed against his back and nuzzling into his neck.
"Samantha," Gabe said, rolling over. "Time to get up."
Sam mumbled something too quiet to hear. Gabe smiled at him and kissed him gently. Sam responded lazily and Gabe pulled away, smirking.
"You're totally awake," Gabe said. Sam sighed and opened his hazel eyes, looking into Gabe's gold ones.
"Can't we stay in bed?" Sam whined.
"We have to drag our lazy brothers to school. And wake them up first."
"Or they could set an alarm."
"You know that doesn't get them up anymore."
Sam sighed, but climbed out of the bed.
They were at the Winchester's house, Cas there with Dean too. Destiel had been studying pretty much all night, for their final exam today. Sam and Gabe had been making sure they slept enough and woke up in time to get to school.
They got dressed and walked into Dean's room where the soulmates were lying on the bed together. With maybe a few less clothes than would be considered decent.
"I'm not even going to ask," Gabe said, nudging Cas. Sam walked to the other side of the bed, grabbed Dean's arm and pulled him off the bed. Dean landed on the ground with a groan and Sam walked over to open the curtains, shining light in his brothers face.
"Jerk," Dean muttered, sitting up.
"Bitch," Sam replied.
Gabe managed to get Cas up easily, as Cas wasn't as much of a heavy sleeper as Dean.
"We have half an hour before school starts," Gabe said. "Get your lazy asses up."
"Do we have to?" Dean whined.
"God all the Winchester's are the same," Gabe said, shaking his head.
"Well when did you become a morning person?" Sam asked.
"Since I got a reason to wake up," Gabe replied, smiling at Sam.
"Go flirt somewhere else," Dean muttered, standing to push them out of the room.
"Don't just start making out with Cas," Sam yelled as he walked away from the room.
"You can't control me!" Dean yelled back.
Sam and Gabe just laughed, before going to make breakfast. Well, Sam made breakfast while Gabe hunted down sugar
When Cas and Dean finally came out of their room, Sam gave them food before they all got into the Impala and went to school. That had become their routine since the older brothers had started final exams.
~~
Cas and Dean walked into the classroom set up for exams.
(I only know how my school does exams...aren't they called finals in some places? I don't even know)
"Good luck," Cas said to Dean, before walking off to his seat. The tables were set up away from each other, exams on the tables in alphabetical order.
"You too," Dean said after him, before sitting down at his own seat and looking at the front of his exam. It was the maths one. Gotta love maths.
Dean glared at the paper. He'd studied maths a lot in the last two months, with the help of Cas and his friends. He'd definitely improved, but it was still his worst subject.
They were told to start the exam, and Dean did that. And he tried hard. Did the best he could. For three hours or however long these damn things go for. He was writing right up until the last minute, and finished just in time. He glanced around the room to see Cas sitting there spinning a pencil in his fingers. Nerd.
And so the final exam finished. The papers were collected, they were allowed out of the classroom.
"How'd you do?" Cas asked, hand intertwining with Dean's the moment they got out.
"I think I did okay," Dean said cheerfully. "I actually think I did well."
Cas smiled brightly. "Glad you studied now?"
"Definitely," Dean said with a smirk. "After all...you promised me something in return." He turned to face Cas, leaning in close.
"Well," Cas said, his eyes glancing down to Dean's lips. "We are currently in a hallway full of people. That would be a little bit inappropriate."
"Fine but you owe me," Dean said, brushing his lips against Cas's.
"We get that you guys just finished school and everything, but no making out in the hallway." They turned to see Balthazar there. Because remember, he's in the same year level as them and also finished.
"Dude that was barely even a kiss," Dean whined. Cas smiled and pulled him into a proper kiss.
"I don't even know why I bother," Balthazar said, shrugging and walking off.
"So," Dean said when he pulled away. "Your place after school?"
"You sound suggestive," Cas said. "You know we can't, not at my place."
Dean chuckled. "I know. But that's tonight right?"
"Yeah," Cas said with a smile. "It's been a while hasn't it? Last time we were at a party..."
"We got drunk and walked into a world full of colours," Dean finished. "And your shorty of a brother stopped us from kissing."
Cas laughed. "Well I'm glad I remember our first kiss."
Dean smiled, kissing him again.

21600 seconds later...
That's six hours for those too lazy to figure it out.
It wasn't one of Balthazar's big parties that he was well known for. Instead it was just the Winchester's, the Novak's and all their friends. Celebrating Cas, Dean, Balthazar, Charlie, Garth, Benny and Ash finishing school. Balthazar was the one who organised it though, so there was alcohol.
They were all in the backyard of the house, music playing loudly, chairs tables and food set out. Lights hung in the trees. Which may have been taken from the Winchester's house after Sam's thing for Gabriel.
Sam and Gabriel were standing under said lights, close enough that they were touching, and were talking happily.
John, Mary, Chuck and Becky were all talking, exchanging embarrassing stories about their kids.
Michael and Lucifer were being all lovey dovey, while Satan made Satan jokes. They'd stopped hiding their relationship from their family at some point and were pretty open about it. They'd also bought a cheap apartment nearby and moved out.
Raphael had also moved out, going who knows where. I mean, how often is he even in this story?
Anna was talking with Charlie and Jo about ships, Garth, Benny and Ash were talking to Balthazar about who even knows what. The four of them may have been more than a little drunk.
Adam and Samandriel were sitting on the ground with Jess and Kevin, the two of them leaning against each other. They'd also gotten a lot closer in the last two months, even ending up been caught making out by Samandriel's siblings.
Have I mentioned everyone? Wait no. Destiel.
Dean and Cas were sitting in one chair, talking quietly to each other. And they honestly just looked so in love in that moment. And it was the truth.
"Oi everyone!" a drunk Balthazar yelled. "A toast! To us and the end of school!" He held up his bottle lazily. "Cheers you bastards."
Everyone said cheers, holding up whatever drink they had.
"Cassie!" Lucifer shouted, walking over to Cas and Dean. "You finished school! Michael help, our brother's growing up." He shed a fake tear.
"Yep," Michael said. "How have you been Cas?"
"Studying," Cas said. "That's it."
"And now we can do other things with our time," Dean said, giving Cas the look.
"Oh gross, didn't need to know that," Lucifer said.
"What about you guys?" Cas said. "Doing anything yet?"
"I'm going to college," Michael said. "Lucifer found a job."
"Wait seriously?" Dean asked. "Is it satanic?"
"No," Lucifer said. "I have to fix some damn wall. The fourth wall or something. It pays quite well. And it's constantly breaking."
"That makes no sense," Cas said, tilting his head adorably.
"Yeah, well I'm the one who breaks it. With words," Lucifer said. "Make sense of that."
"Okay let's stop talking about the wall now," Michael said, patting Luci's shoulder. "You're supposed to be fixing it."
Lucifer grumbled under his breath.
Let's cross the backyard to Sabriel shall we?
"This is weird, they're not going to be around next year," Sam said.
"Yeah well half my siblings left the house in the last two months," Gabriel said. "It already feels empty."
"Yeah but Dean's been there my entire life...and now..."
"Hey, you'll have me," Gabriel said. "If you ever start to miss him, just come over and hug me instead."
Sam chuckled, glancing up at the fairy lights above them. "Remember two months ago?"
"Yeah," Gabriel said. "Same lights, different back yard. You were a forgetful idiot."
Sam laughed. "Can't argue with that." He was silent for a moment. "Hey Gabriel?"
"Yeah Samsquatch?"
"I love you."
Gabe looked at Sam with wide eyes before slowly smiling. "I love you too Sam."
Sam smiled and leaned down to kiss Gabe, one arm around his waist. Gabe moved his arms around Sam's neck to where they fitted so well, one hand threading through Sam's hair.
Cas and Dean saw from across the yard, smiling at their younger brothers. "Well, if they're doing it," Cas said. "I love you Dean."
"I love you too angel," Dean said before kissing Cas with a smile.
Michael and Lucifer saw both Destiel and Sabriel doing this.
"All the soulmate couples are doing it," Lucifer said. "Come on Mikey."
"You say it first," Michael said.
"Oh come on. You've never said it."
Michael blushed slightly.
"Shy idiot," Lucifer said, smiling. "I love you Mikey. Now say it back."
"I...love you too Luci." Michael looked up to see Lucifer smiling widely before he leaned down to kiss him.
And of course, the three soulmate couples then turned on the fourth couple.
"Come on Adamandriel," Gabriel said. "We all did it."
"Yeah, you have to," Lucifer said.
Both Adam and Samandriel blushed, avoiding eye gaze.
"Oh come on guys," Cas said. "Don't push them into it. They're a lot younger than us."
"Cassie has a point," Michael said.
Adam and Samandriel looked relieved and gave Cas a thankful look.
"Doesn't mean they can't kiss," Gabe said. "Not like we haven't walked in on that before."
Samandriel went red while Adam smirked, and Adam faced his boyfriend, giving him an expectant look. Samandriel smiled a bit before leaning forwards to kiss Adam.
And so the night continued. Eventually everyone got tired for the night, all of them sleeping in the Novak's house. The couples slept in the rooms of their Novak soulmate, while everyone else just kinda fell asleep in the living room.
And they were all happy. Happier than they'd ever been...but not happier than a few moments in their near future...
~~
Yay happiness ^_^ I'm dragging this out but the end is inevitable...which will be a sad day, but that ain't soon because I have a few things left to right.
I just went back to school. I have had three days of school. I am sick of it. Already. Although at least this year I managed to get instrument lessons outside of class so I don't have to stress about that anymore. And there's a possibility I'll be picking up a third instrument :D Yeah I'm a little musical...
Malec. The Malec in the most recent episode of Shadowhunters. That is all.
