29 - Author Feels Awkward
Cas sat beside Dean's hospital bed. It was Thursday now, three days since the crash. Cas had gone to see Dean yesterday, but the doctors wouldn't let him stay too long, wanting to run more tests and stuff. The Doctor seemed a bit weird though, running around with his fez and bowtie.
Cas sighed, holding Dean's hand in his and looking at Dean's sleeping face. He seemed fine, he wasn't comatose or anything, Cas wouldn't believe that. He just wouldn't wake up.
"Dean," Cas said softly, his voice cracking. He cleared his throat and tried again. "Dean. I don't know if you can hear me...but Charlie thinks this'll work. Don't think that I'm only doing this because of that though, I just...I want you back."
"I'm sorry about what happened between us, I should've told you about Meg. It was a stupid idea not to tell you in the first place. And I shouldn't have left after you told me about Lisa, it was obvious you already hated yourself for it. I shouldn't have made it worse."
"I forgive you Dean, I forgave you before you even said it. I just couldn't process it properly at the time...I didn't mean for this to happen to you, I didn't..." Cas sighed. "I suck at this."
"Dean please don't die on me now. You're my soulmate, you brought colour to my life. I'm being completely honest when I say I can't live without you, and if you don't wake up now, I don't know what I'm going to do with my life."
Cas closed his eyes to stop tears from falling. "Dean...I love you, more than anything else. So please, please wake up." Cas opened his eyes...to look directly into the bright green ones that he loved.
Dean blinked at him before smiling. "Heya Cas."
"Dean," Cas said before leaning forward to hug Dean hard. "You're awake."
"What happened?" Dean asked, pulling Cas closer in the hug. "Last I remember was driving."
"You crashed," Cas whispered. "You were essentially comatose."
"And then, to be so cliché and chick flick momenty, I heard your voice and woke," Dean said. "Cas...I love you too."
Cas smiled, and buried his head into Dean's shoulder. Dean shifted so that Cas could move onto the bed beside him while still hugging him.
"You ever going to let me go?" Dean said, smirking.
"Never," Cas said, curling up against Dean's side.
"I'm perfectly fine with that," Dean said. "How long was I asleep?"
"Not long, today's Thursday," Cas said. "By the way, Sam is remembering."
"Holy crap really?" Dean said. "About time everything got happy again."
Cas just smiled, before pulling away from the hug to lean down and kiss Dean.
The doctors insisted Dean stayed for another day, just to make sure he was completely fine, so Cas had to leave at the end of visiting hours. They pretty much had to drag him out, but Dean promised he would text him the moment he left. And as promised, Cas got a text message literally five seconds after he left the room.

Gabriel walked into the classroom, expecting to be covered in green paint as he opened the door. Well he got exactly what he expected. Except he was prepared and had an umbrella, which was now green.
Sam just smiled from across the room where he had his feet up on the desk. Gabe winked at him before putting the umbrella down somewhere and moving to his own seat.
Class started, Gabriel was bored. Well he was making himself bored. He needed to focus on pranking Sam, not doing school work.
Sometime into class, he pulled out a lollipop and wrote a note, attaching it to the lollipop. The note read 'Cas said you mentioned the crash, that you remembered why you were crossing the street in the first place. Oh and yeah, there's totally a smoke bomb in your bag.'
He threw the lollipop onto Sam's desk, who picked it up and immediately put the lollipop in his mouth before reading the note. He looked at it curiously for a second, before writing something down and throwing it back.
'I didn't even notice...but now that you mention it, I do remember why. And now to quote myself, I still like stink bombs better.'
Gabe smiled at the note. Those were the first words Sam had ever said to him. Seemed weird that if he remembered, he was writing it down instead.
Eventually the class ended, and Sam just looked at his bag, before abruptly kicking it across the room. The smoke bomb went off, filling the entire room with smoke. Both Sam and Gabe used this opportunity to run out of the room.
Instead of tripping on each other like last time, Sam grabbed Gabriel and pulled him into a hug in the doorway.
"You know," Sam said quietly as Gabriel melted into the hug. "The universe kinda said we have to be together didn't it?" Gabriel froze. Sam pulled away and winked at Gabe, before running off.
Gabriel stayed there, his eyes wide. He remembered when Sam had said that. It was after he told him about his past, and the moment they actually got together. But...that was at least a week from now.
And that meant he remembered.
~~
Twas after school now, and Sam was walking home due to still no Dean. Dean was however awake, thanks to Cas, and would be leaving the hospital in a few hours.
It was true that he remembered more than what Gabe was reenacting. But he couldn't remember all of it. Still only a quote here and there. The hardest thing to remember was up until they spoke properly for the first time though. Which should be Monday if Sam's memories were correct.
Sam walked into the house, and saw his parents there. John saw him and then grabbed something.
"Gabriel knew he wouldn't be able to trick you with this," John said. "Since you remember things as they happen." He passed Sam a bottle of shampoo. Except Sam knew it wouldn't be shampoo.
"So...I have to dye my own hair?" Sam asked.
"Well it washes out doesn't it?" Mary said.
"But you guys can see it. Dean too."
"But most people can't," Mary said.
Sam just sighed as he looked at the bottle, but couldn't help but smile. And so, that was how he yet again ended up with hot pink hair.
When he walked out of the bathroom, John was waiting with the camera and took a picture, in which Sam looked like a moose in the headlights. John just laughed and ran off like a child.
~~
Dean walked into the lobby of the hospital where Cas was waiting, limping slightly. Cas saw him and ran over, hugging him.
"You seem happy to see me," Dean said.
"Shut up and let me hug you," Cas said.
"Well if I don't shut up, what will you do?" Dean said, smirking. Cas pulled back with a raised eyebrow, before pulling Dean into a kiss. Which was cut short by rude people in the hospital. Dean pulled away, smirking. "Predictable."
"Predictable is good sometimes," Cas said, as they walked out to where Cas had brought the Impala.
(Train of thought: I could write smut here. It would probably be the best spot to right smut. But how in the bloody world do I do that?)
"You brought Baby!" Dean said, running over to his car. "I thought you said I crashed."
"Bobby fixed her up for you," Cas said, smiling. "John payed for all the repairs."
"Remind me to thank them later," Dean said, hugging the car.
"Why does the car get all the hugs?" Cas muttered, glaring at Baby. Dean just laughed and got in the car. "Drive at a safe speed this time," Cas said, getting into the passenger seat.
"Of course," Dean said. "Don't think I'll ever speed again. At least not anywhere that it's dangerous."
"I feel so reassured," Cas said, rolling his eyes.
"So, your place or mine?" Dean asked.
"Why Dean, that sounds mildly suggestive," Cas said.
"Yep," Dean said, smirking at Cas.
"Well the author doesn't know how to write smut, sooo," Cas said.
"Damn her," Dean said. "So which house?"
"I feel like we should go to your place since you just got out of hospital, but the author just thought of good wall breaking jokes that could be said by Michael and Lucifer."
"Who is this author that you've been talking to?" Dean asked, narrowing his eyes. "Should I be worried?"
"No, she's way too obsessed with Richard Speight Jr to spend time with us," Cas said. "Besides. She crashed your car. Assbutt."
Dean laughed, and that conversation was completely forgotten by the both of them.
"We should go to your house, fits with Gabriel's plan," Cas said and Dean nodded.
And so they returned to the Winchester home, to find Sam with hot pink hair.
"Hey Sammy," Dean said. "Your hair..."
"Yeah I know jerk," Sam said, walking over to pull Dean into a hug.
"Bitch," Dean said, returning the hug.
"What you're saying and doing in no way matches," Cas said.
"Since when has there ever been logic in this world Cas?" Dean said. "I mean people don't even die properly."
(I need to stop with the wall xD)
"True," Cas said. "Sam can I have my boyfriend back now?"
"Sure," Sam said before shoving Dean into Cas, who grabbed onto him. Dean laughed before turning around to kiss Cas gently. "And that's my cue to leave," the pink moose said, walking out of the room. Dean smiled into the kiss, pulling Cas closer to him.
Cas pulled away. "How about we don't do this in a doorway?" he said, gesturing to where John was trying to walk past.
"Nah he can take the long way," Dean said. John glared before walking past anyway. Dean laughed and grabbed Cas's hand, leading him to his bedroom.
Once they were in said bedroom, Dean pulled Cas into another kiss. He started guiding them towards the bed, and pushed Cas down before climbing on top of him.
"You okay with this?" Dean said, one hand lifting the bottom of Cas's shirt.
"Um, well," Cas said, his face red. "Sure but not everything. Let's just...um..."
Dean chuckled. "You're really awkward you know that?"
"So I've noticed," Cas said before Dean leaned down to kiss him again. Dean's hand slid up Cas's shirt, and he pulled away from the kiss to pull Cas's shirt over his head before kissing him again.
Cas flipped them over so he was on top, taking off Dean's endless layers of shirts. Dean rested his hands at Cas's hips and leaned up to kiss him passionately. Cas smirked a bit into the kiss before breaking away to suck on the sweet spot on Dean's neck.
"Fuck Cas," Dean moaned. He flipped them over again, sliding his fingers under Cas's waistband.
"Dean," Cas said with warning in his voice.
"Too far?" Dean asked and Cas nodded. "That's fine." He leaned down to kiss Cas gently. "We can totally still make out thought, right?"
Cas chuckled. "Of course," he said, pulling Dean into another kiss.
~~
Oh my god I feel so awkward and that wasn't even that bad. Well I tried guys, but I died of awkwardness before they could get anywhere. I mean I can't even write a decent kissing scene so I guess there was no chance of it actually happening.
Also I kept wanting to write Sabriel but the weekend has to pass for more Sabriel and gah.
Aand it's new years eve. So HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! That seems so weird, it's 2016 tomorrow. I'll be 16 in less than two months. Weird.
