Chapter Five
Dolph did as Nikki asked, slipping into a seat next to her at lunch. She flashed him a small smile and returned her attention to Max. "Any luck with Neil Two?"
"No," he muttered, eyes glued to his phone. She rolled her eyes. "Can you stop texting Preston for one second?"
"Space Kid gave me more details, so technically I'm working."
"Sure," the active girl murmured. Her gaze drifted towards the freshman. "Don't sweat it, Dolph. You should be able to tell him soon."
"What if he doesn't like me back?" he groaned, messing with his phone. He heard Nikki sigh quietly. "You never know until you try..."
"He likes you, dumbass," Max growled, glancing up from his phone for once. "Nik's trying to hook you guys up."
"Dammit, Max!" she reached across the table and punched him in the arm. "You weren't supposed to tell him!"
The jaded teen just smirked. "Well someone had to speed this shit up."
Dolph watched them in both shock and confusion. Junior? Liked him? There had to be a mistake. "Does he really...?"
The turquiosed haired girl sighed in defeat. "Yeah, he does..." she mumbled, rested her chin in her hand. Her disappointment only lasted for a split second, though. She shot up in her seat, eyes sparkling. "Now ask him out already!"
His face flushed red. "Vhat? No no, I can't-"
"Sure you can," Max murmured, sounding slightly sympathetic. "You might need to work up some courage, but you can do it. You know he likes you, so he's not going to turn you down. Just give it your all..."
Nikki blinked, surprised. "That was... Deep," she commented. "A little too deep... Did Preston send you that?"
"I- What- Fuck you," he sputtered, flipping her off. Dolph started to tune them out and started thinking about Junior. "How should I ask him out? Should I draw him a picture? Write a note? Just walk up to him and ask?" The german started tapping his foot in frustration. His gaze drifted to Max's Blue hoodie. He noticed the red, green, and white stains at the bottom, probably from spray paint.
Wait...
Spray paint...
"Max?" he spoke suddenly, interrupting their conversation. The older ravenet leaned on the table, looking bored. "'Sup?"
"Do you have an spray paint I could borrow? And maybe an untouched alleyway?"
The senior raised an eyebrow, a smirk tugging at his lips. "Yeah, what for?"
"I think I know just the way to ask Junior out..."
