The Decision to Create Unique

INT. COZY CAFE - DAY

The cafe is warm and inviting, with a retro ambiance. Sophie is sitting at a table, a cup of coffee in front of her. She looks at her phone with a frustrated expression. She puts it down abruptly, sighing deeply. At that moment, Alex, her friend and mentor, enters the cafe and spots her. He approaches with a warm smile.

ALEX: Hey Sophie! How's it going?

SOPHIE: (looking up, forced smile) Hi Alex. It's okay, I guess.

ALEX: (sitting down across from her) You seem worried. Still having trouble with those dating apps?

SOPHIE: (sighing) Yes, exactly. It's always the same. Shallow conversations, people disappearing without a word. It feels like no one really wants to get to know each other.

ALEX: (nodding) I get it. It's become so superficial. People are treated like products, not individuals.

SOPHIE: (looking out the window, pensive) You know, I've been thinking. I want to create a different kind of app. An app where every encounter truly matters, where you can only talk to one person at a time. So people can focus on each other, take the time to get to know one another.

ALEX: (smiling, intrigued) That sounds great, Sophie. Really great. What gave you this idea?

SOPHIE: (looking at Alex, determined) After my depression, what really helped me were authentic human interactions. Group therapy sessions, friends who took the time to listen. It made me realize how crucial it is. And these dating apps... they only deepen loneliness and misunderstanding.

ALEX: (taking a sip of his coffee) You're right. There's a real need for something more human. And you have the skills to do it.

SOPHIE: (enthusiastic but nervous) Yes, but I need your help. You have so much experience in developing and launching projects. I have ideas, but I need to structure them, know where to start.

ALEX: (smiling) Of course, I'm here for that. Tell me about your ideas. What are the key elements of this app?

SOPHIE: (pulling out a notebook) So, first, users can only talk to one person at a time. Then, each profile must include deep questions, interests, values. Not just photos and superficial descriptions. And there will be reminders to encourage meaningful discussions, suggestions for conversation topics that go beyond small talk.

ALEX: (nodding, making mental notes) That sounds really good. And why not add an option for video calls after a certain amount of conversation? It could help create more genuine connections.

SOPHIE: (lighting up) Great idea! And also, I want to integrate an anonymous feedback system so users can share their feelings after a conversation. It could help improve the experience.

ALEX: (enthusiastic) Perfect. We can start by defining the specifications and setting up a development plan. And I know a few potential investors who might be interested in this project.

SOPHIE: (smiling, hopeful) Thanks, Alex. You know, I feel like this could really make a difference. I want people to feel seen and heard, like I was.

ALEX: (gently tapping the table) And you will, Sophie. With your passion and determination, I'm sure "Unique" will change lives.

SOPHIE: (adding) Oh, and I also thought of a "hide me" feature in the app. It would allow users to control their profile visibility by selecting criteria. For example, if a person has certain traits that I don't appreciate, my profile shouldn't appear for them.

ALEX: (smiling) That's a brilliant idea. It would give users better control over their experience and safety.

The camera slowly pulls away, leaving Sophie and Alex discussing their ideas, filled with motivation and enthusiasm for this new project.

FADE OUT.
