Bonus Chapter: Part 3

"I still find it hard to believe that they're a couple," Abby said as she sat on the bed of her and Alex's hotel room.

Alex came out of the bathroom, a towel around his head as he dried his damp hair, "Didn't you hear him? She's his honeybun."

"Don't you think it's strange that the person you wanted for the ad campaign just happens to be the man Felicia has been secretly dating?" Abby asked.

Alex shook his head, "No, I just think it shows how perceptive I am. I chose someone that's a sure thing."

"What do you mean?"

"If anyone can get him to sign a contract with us, it's Felicia."

Abby frowned, "I'm not a jealous woman but you sure do have a lot of faith in her."

"Of course, she's Felicia. She's the most competent woman I know."

That earned him a pillow in the face from Abby, "I'm also your assistant in case you forgot."

"How could I? You threaten to quit every five minutes."

"I do not. And maybe I wouldn't try and quit if you gave me actual duties instead of leaving everything to your precious Felicia."

"My precious Felicia? What's that supposed to mean?"

"Figure it out yourself!"

"What is with you tonight? Do you need me to call room service for some Midol?"

Abby groaned and tossed a second pillow at Alex, "Midol? Really, Alex? You're impossible!" She stormed into the bathroom, slamming the heavy door behind her.

"What did I say?" Alex called out from the other side.

Abby sat on the edge of the tub and placed her hands over her face.

Midol?

She hadn't had her period in two months. The last thing she needed was Midol.

============
Felicia glanced around at the sea green corridors as she and Hawk made their way to his suite. Her heels dug into the plush green carpet with each doubtful step she took.

"What's wrong with you? You look like I'm forcing you to join me," Hawk muttered. "Most women would die for an opportunity to spend the night with me."

"I'm sure they would."

"What was that?"

Felicia ignored his question and took a mental snapshot of the bald muscular man wearing a dark suit. She had seen him earlier in the day as well. She turned to Hawk, "What does this supposed ex-girlfriend of yours look like?"

"It's not supposed. She was here. You won't see her, so don't bother looking for her."

Felicia's eyes narrowed once they reached his hotel room's door, "At least tell me her name."

"That doesn't matter," he swiped the key card and the small green light flashed, allowing them access.

"If she's not alive, of course it matters," Felicia said. "Listen here Mr. Harrington, I don't like people wasting my time. If the ex-girlfriend that's following you around is Samantha Miles, you need an exorcist not a fake girlfriend."

Hawk looked around before slightly pushing Felicia into his hotel suite, "Listen, I'm not joking around here. Didn't we have a deal? What difference does it make who she is or whether she's dead or alive?"

Felicia's eyes narrowed, "You're serious, aren't you?"

"Do you think I'm crazy to believe in ghosts?"

Felicia stiffened, remembering what happened at Bayless months earlier. She smoothed back her hair and said, "Actually, I do believe in the paranormal. My concern is that you were accused of murdering Ms. Miles."

"I was proven innocent! I'm telling you for weeks I've felt like someone has been watching me."

The lights in the room suddenly flickered and Hawk paled, "She's here."

Felicia rolled her eyes and placed her hands on her hips, "That or the electricity is shorting. I'm not sure about your ex being dead or alive but if someone is following you, I won't tolerate it."

Hawk pretended to touch his hair, secretly giving her a thumbs up.

"You sure are a jealous one," he said loudly.

Felicia sighed, "I'm going to use the restroom."

While Hawk was alone his eyes darted around the hotel room. He could hear his heart thumping wildly through his chest. Why did he ever agree to date Samantha Miles to begin with? She had always been a little needy and over the top. She was the reason he told himself he'd never date another actress again.

A pounding at the door startled him.

"Who is it?" Hawk called out, glancing back to the bathroom where Felicia was at. He slowly made his way to the door and with a trembling hand, opened the door.

"Mr. Harrington?" a bald man wearing a dark suit and sunglasses asked. He looked like someone from the secret service.

"Can I help you?" Hawk asked. Three men dressed in dark suits joined the bald man.

"Maybe we come in?"

Hawk frowned, "No, I'm sorry. I'm here with my girlfriend. What is it that you want?"

"Girlfriend?" the bald man asked.

"Is that so hard to believe. Now I suggest you leave before I call security," Hawk said.

The bald man smirked, "Security? Mr. Harrington, don't you know who we are?"

"Should I?"

"You're presence is needed on a very important matter. I suggest you follow us."

"And if I don't?"

"Force will be used," the bald man answered.

"At least tell me what this is about," Hawk fumed.

"For the past few weeks we've been tracking you. Our employer would like you to go on a date with his daughter. You're a bit of a playboy but fairly harmless. You don't drink in excess. And you seem to be her type."

"Exactly who is your employer?" Hawk asked, his hands itching to close the door. Where was Felicia? "I have a girlfriend."

"That's not something our data indicated," the bald man smiled. "You'll be pleased with out employer's daughter. She's quite attractive."

Hawk made a disbelieving sound, "That's why she needs you guys to nab her a date...quite literally."

"I don't want to waste too much time. She's here as well but will be leaving soon."

The bald man and his cronies grabbed at Hawk who began pushing them away.

Felicia's voice cut through the chaos, "Yes, four men dressed in dark suits are attempting to take Hawk Harrington by force. Yes, I've taken their picture and will be waiting for you. They admitted to stalking him for weeks. Yes. Thank you. In less than a minute. I'll be waiting."

The bald man pointed a finger at Felicia while his cohorts waited for his direction, "Who are you?"

"Me? I'm his girlfriend. I don't know who your employer or his daughter are, but please give them a message for me."

From down the hall, security guards began yelling at the men in suits.

"Let's go," one of the men shouted.

The bald man scowled at Felicia, "You've ruined everything!"

"Tell your boss that Hawk Harrington is taken," Felicia walked up to Hawk and placed an arm around his torso.

The bald man grunted before running off, the hotel security guards chasing after him. Hawk turned to Felicia and tried hugging her but she pushed him away.

"Do you see? Those eyes you felt on you belonged to those men, not your dead ex-girlfriend," Felicia said.

"You're probably right. I wonder who they worked for?"

"Who knows but his daughter must be desperate if she had to send her security to enlist you as a boyfriend. She's probably spoiled."

Hawk shivered, "Well at least it wasn't Samantha."

"Still, a deal is a deal. I helped you so you need to do the campaign for our company."

"If I do...will I get to see you again?" Hawk asked coyly.

Felicia nodded, "Of course."

"Then I'll do it. You're very no-nonsense, Felicia and I like a strong woman. It'll be fun to keep annoying you."

"What a shame. I despise actors," Felicia walked out of the room, leaving a grinning Hawk alone.

"She's pretty cute when she's annoyed," Hawk smirked. He was so interested in Felicia that he didn't notice the tempature in the room had dropped or that a transparent figure of a woman stood in the corner, silently watching him.

The Next Morning

"Felicia came through for us. She got Harrington to sign the contract," Alex grinned. "By the way, did you hear that the President's daughter has been staying here? Apparently, she checked out this morning."

Abby didn't respond. Instead she pushed her scrambled eggs across her plate.

Alex frowned, "Abby, what's the matter? You normally love hearing gossip like that. Are you jealous of Felicia? She's just a secretary to me. A very good secretary, but you're much more important to my existence than she is."

Abby just sighed.

Alex stood up and pulled a small jewelry box from the pocket of his jacket, "Shall I prove it to you?"

Abby continued staring at her cold breakfast, "Alex, there's something I should tell you."

Alex leaned over and quickly kissed her lips, "I love you."

Abby gave him a soft smile and placed her hands on his shoulders, "I love you too but there's something I need to tell you."

"Is it good news or bad news?"

Abby grimaced, "I'm not sure."

"Then let me go first," he placed the box in front of Abby. "Go ahead. Open it."

Abby slowly opened the flat velvet box to reveal a pearl bracelet with small charms attached to it, "Oh Alex, it's beautiful!"

"It's a new blessings bracelet. I know you miss your old one and I really wanted to replace it."

Abby picked it up, smiling, poking at the small charms and gasped, "Alex, is this-"

"You saw it already, did you?" he chuckled as he removed the engagement ring that was attached to the bracelet. He was already on bended knee when he asked, "Abby Redding, I want to spend the rest of my life waking up to your beautiful face. I can't imagine growing old together with anyone else but you. I think we'll probably still be arguing and making up even when we're old and decrepit but it'll be fun. I love you. Will you marry me?"

Abby was crying, her hands against her face as she nodded and Alex slipped the ring on her finger. She felt his lips against hers and smiled.

"I have a gift for you too."

"You do?" Alex asked.

Abby nodded and pulled out a brown paper bag from her purse, "Don't worry. It's clean."

Alex gave her a curious look before opening the bag. His eyes widened as he pulled out her gift, a giant smile on his face.

"We're going to have a very blessed life, aren't we?" Abby asked, slipping on her blessings bracelet.

Alex placed the positive pregnancy test on the paper bag before nodding, "Yes, we're definitely going to live a life worth being thankful for."
