Part 6: Saving Ellie

Back in Hawkodile's treehouse, the loud splash of Ellie falling into the moat quickly caught his attention and snapped Unikitty right out of her writing trance. They both went outside and looked over the lookout balconey. At first, it seemed like nothing was there, but then Unikitty's ears perked up a little.

Unikitty: I think I hear something! It sounds like...

She listened a little bit more and continued:

  Unikitty: Underwater shouting!

Then they both saw a small, gray elephant trunk briefly breach the surface before sinking back down again.

  Unikitty and Hawkodile: Ellie!

Hawkodile: (in a cool and relaxed tone) I've got this.

With a great leap of faith, Hawkodile promptly descended down from the balcony and dived into the moat. He swam over to the now desperate and flailing young elephant, got a hold of her in his strong arms, and swam both of them right back up to the treehouse.

Once they were back on the surface, Hawkodile carefully placed Ellie stomach-side-up on the surface. She was gasping and coughing up water to the point where it kind of sounded like retching. Hawkodile kinda helped her with getting all of that water out by gently yet firmly pressing his big, muscular hands down onto Ellie's little chest area. Meanwhile, Unikitty flew over with a warm, dry purple towel and wrapped it around Ellie. She also got a cotton candy pink band-aid on Ellie's foot and gave it a little kiss, leaving behind a small, heart-shaped mark the same pink color as her ears.

  Hawkodile: Good call, Princess.

  Unikitty: Ellie, are you okay?

Ellie: Yes, I'm alright. Thank you. Both of you.

Hawkodile: Just doing my job, squirt. (glancing towards Unikitty) Plus Unikitty being an (giving Unikitty a little nose boop) awesome friend.

Upon hearing this, the young feline princess's face suddenly started getting rosy, and her heart rate started increasing to the point of being similar to the heart rate of a rabbit.

Unikitty: Yeah. W-what are friends for?

Suddenly, Puppycorn and Richard came rushing over.

Richard: We heard a ruckus out here! Is everything alright?

Puppycorn: Ellie, what happened? You're all wet, and why is your foot hurt?

Ellie: Well, you see, when I came here, Sir Hawkodile wasn't out on our usual training grounds, so I thought that maybe he was training in his treehouse. It was startling silent there, so I tried to climb up there to see if everything was alright. However, it turned out that my feet were too big and heavy for the steps, and...

Richard: ... You fell into the moat and cut your foot on the step?

  Ellie: (slightly sheepish) Yes.

Unikitty: Ellie, the treehouse was really quiet because I was writing up there.

Ellie: Oh, dear. Did I interrupt you? I'm so, so sorry!

Unikitty: It's okay, Ellie! Let's just look on the bright side! At least it all ended swimmingly. (giggling) Just a lil' bit of water humor.

Hearing Unikitty make this joke left Hawkodile kind of annoyed, just like her "cloud humor."

Hawkodile: Yeah. (looking up towards his treehouse) Guess this place isn't really suited for elephants. (looking down towards Ellie and patting her on the head a little) Even small ones like you, squirt.

Ellie giggled for a bit, and then Richard piped up:

Richard: Ellie, would you please come with me into the castle?

  Ellie: (timidly) Yes, Mr. Richard.

With that, Richard and Puppycorn started walking (or in Richard's case, floating) towards the castle, and Ellie followed both of them in that direction, feeling a certain pain in her recently cut foot with each step. Unikitty and Hawkodile flew up back to the treehouse, where Unikitty laid down on the floor to continue her writing.
