Part 1: Richard's Persuasion
It was just another typical day in Unikingdom. Dr. Fox was doing some experiments down in her lab. Hawkodile and Ellie were outside training together. Puppycorn was playing in a nearby dumpster (so they could both keep an eye on him). All the while, Unikitty was flying around the castle when Richard popped up in front of her and said in his usual calm yet dull voice: "Princess, we have a very busy schedule today. Are you ready to clear your to-do list?"
"Sure thing, Rick!" Unikitty cheerfully chimed in reply whilecutely cocking her head back and forth, "What do we gotta do?"
In response, Richard pulled out a very long list and started reading: "Well, first the water wheels need some lubrication, and the flowers could really use a drink. Then we have to restock the shooting stars, fix the park water fountain, clean the moat, and-"
"Oh no!" Unikitty exclaimed.
Hearing this sudden exclamation, Richard quickly stopped listing and asked: "What's wrong?"
"Those things," Unikitty answered, "sound so hard and boring!"
Upon receiving this answer, Richard's face quickly changed from a look of surprise to its usual deadpan expression.
"Princess," Richard told the pink royal feline, "we still have to do them. They're part of your duties as ruler of the kingdom."
She quickly flew away, and Rick sighed, thinking to himself:
Sometimes I wonder why I even try. She may be like the daughter I never had, but I swear trying to keep that girl under control is like trying to make an ice cream that never melts. Richard was just about to turn around in defeat, but then he thought, Wait. Ice cream? In that moment, an idea was born.
With newfound hope, Richard swam through the floor and came out when he was right within Unikitty's earshot (which is actually very wide), upon which he confidently asked: "Would you do it if it earned a trip to the ice cream shop?"
With this, Unikitty immediately stopped dead in her tracks. She turned her head towards Richard and asked with a combination of curiosity and excitement in her voice: "Ice cream, you say?"
"Mmm-hmm," Richard hummed, "and it can be any flavor you want, but only if we can clear your to-do list by end of-
Before the gray brick could finish his sentence, Unikitty dashed right out the door, leaving Richard in a daze. Once he regained his composure, he started following her out of the castle and proudly said to himself: "It just goes to show: kids are suckers for sweets."
