Her ex
"I still remember how it felt like to love you. Like I had to apologize, "
Park Jimin
"Congrats guys, thank you for today. " I smiled at my students with a big smile of satisfaction plastered on my face. They weren't untalented. They just need a good technique and a good teacher to add some additional touches into their dance.
All of them had a happy faces as they bowed to me before thanking me. "Thank you for today's lesson, Sir. It's such a big honour to learn from you. " They said, making me to let out some soft giggles.
"No, thank you. I had so much fun today. Rest well and get enough sleep for tomorrow's practice. " I reminded them and watched them walking out from the practice room. After I was left alone in the room, I did some body stretching since I haven't done those hard moves since awhile. I can't hide the fact that it did leave some pain on my muscles.
Feeling a bit relieved, I heaved a sigh and went to my back to take my phone in case someone texted me or something. And it turned out that Jieun had leave me a text 35 minutes ago. My face lightened up a bit as I know that I received a text from her. I clicked open right away.
Jieun
sent 2.40 p.m.
Jimin, can you come home now? I need help. Something bad happened and I need someone to talk.
My eyes grew slightly wide after reading her text. Something bad happened to her? It made me worried and suspicious. Was she in danger or something? Or did someone hurt her? I didn't know.
Without wasting any seconds, I took my backpack and rushed towards my car.
20 minutes later, I reached my apartment and hurriedly made my way towards her room since she wasn't in the living room. "Jieun? Are you inside? " I knocked before entering the room. I heard sniffling sounds and it made me worried sick.
She then opened the door and looked at me with a pair of watery eyes. I gasped at my sight and bended my back to equal our heights as I looked into her eyes. "Who hurt you? " It was the first thing I asked her. I had never seen her like this and there must be something that made her cry.
She didn't reply to my question. Instead, she kept crying and wiped her tears with her long sleeves. "Hey— why are you crying? I'm already here, right? No one is going to harm you. I'll never let someone to touch you. " I said while putting a strand of her hair behind her ears. I could say that something really bad had happen and by the way she looked at me, she somehow felt safe that I was there for her.
Just in a blink, without I could do anything, she pulled me closer to her and closing the gap between us as she hugged me tightly. She buried her face into my chest and continued crying her heart out. My heart ached as she was crying in my embrace. She seemed like she was really hurt. I placed my hand behind her back and rubbed it softly to calm her down. "You know you can trust me, right? " I asked her softly to earn her trust.
She took a few moment before looking up at me again. I wiped her tears with my thumbs. "Who made you cry? Tell me. I'll make sure they regret it. " I said in the most softest way but I really mean it. No one can hurt my Jieun. She sniffled before placing her head on my chest again.
"Can we talk about it later? " She asked, her voice was shaking after an hour of crying. "I just want to be with you for now. " She sniffled. I sighed before I really wanted to know what or who made her cry. But since she wasn't ready to talk about it yet, I respected her decision.
"Okay then, anything you want. " I smiled and brought her into the living room where she can cry her heart out while having me to calm her down.
She was now having her head rested on my lap while I was caressing her soft silky hair with my hand. After a half of an hour crying, she finally managed to chill. Maybe the hot green tea I made for her had somehow helped to calm her down.
"Thank you, Jimin. " She finally spoke while squinting her right eyes. "You'll always be by my side whenever I need you. " She added. "I really appreciate it and will never forget your kindnesses. "
"It's nothing, don't worry. You're my best friend. Of course I'll be there for you. " I smiled knowing that she was ready to talk. "If you don't mind, can I know why you were crying? You look so— sad? " I stated.
She sat up and moved closer to me. At this point, even after crying, I had no idea how she could be looking so good and beautiful. She looked like an angle from heaven.
She inhaled for some air then cleared her throat. "My ex came here to meet me. " She answered which gave me a minor heart attack. Was it a sigh that she will leave me? For her ex?
I was speechless by her answer. "Why did he come? " I tried my best to stay normal without looking any weird of overreacted. "Did he do something to you? Or did he hurt you? Tell me. " I said while hoping with all my heart that she won't say she wanted to come back to him. Well, she's a nice girl. A girl that every guys dream of having. It's not impossible if he wants her back.
Jieun shook her head then rested it on my shoulder as she hugged my arm. "He didn't do anything. " She answered.
"But, " she added, making me to look at her nervously. "It's so satisfying to know that he regrets his decision for leaving me. His girlfriend was terrible. " She chuckled bitterly.
"Does it mean— he wants you back? " I asked, a feeling of sad was felt. Please don't.
She chuckled while wiping her tears. "Maybe. " She sniffled. "But I don't want him in my life anymore. I have suffered enough that I won't ever let myself getting fooled by him again. " I was relieved when she said that.
"He was the one who wanted to break up. He ditched me for another girl. He made me felt worthless. Why should I take him back?" She scoffed.
"Because of him— I almost hate of letting people in because somehow, they'll end up leaving me alone. " She was still resting her head on my shoulder while having her right hand wrapped around my arm. "But my perspective towards people changed drastically after I met you. " She looked at me with a smile on her face. Even she was still crying, she still wanted to smile at me. And that made her look extremely cute.
I chuckled silently. "I know you're different. You'll never treat me the way he treated me. And— you will never leave me, right? " She asked in a very serious way. I love the way she gets so serious when it comes to feelings matter.
I looked into her eyes and without any hesitation, I nodded. "I promise you, I'll never leave you and will always be by your side. I—" I was about to say those three words but something blocked me from doing so. I stopped.
She noticed the sudden stop of my talking and looked at me. "Why, Jimin? " She asked in concern. "Weren't you about to say something? "
"I— no, I didn't. " I smiled and shook my head. It wasn't the right time.
This confusing world— it will never let me rest. I'll always feel like I'm not enough and there will always be a space in my heart that will remain empty. But whenever I'm with you, I feel peace. A peace that no one can explain how it feels. The empty space in my heart somehow feels like it was filled. Filled with the love you showed me.
Jungkook
I just finished a meeting with my brother. Today was so exhausting as my schedule was filled with so many works. I walked out from the meeting room and received a notification from Jieun. I would usually just ignore my phone whenever I feel tired or lethargic. But since it was Jieun, I opened the text and read it.
Jieun
sent 6.56 p.m.
Hi Jungkook, how was your day? We haven't talk for a few days but I understand that you're busy with works. I hope you're doing fine and good. Miss you.
I smiled at the text. Jieun will always be the one to lighten up my mood. I can't imagine how my day would be without her.
Jungkook

I smiled alone then shoved my phone into my pocket pants.

Jieun went into the kitchen and made two cups of hot chocolate then brought it to the living room where Jimin was watching a show in the television. "Here, I made one for you. " She put the cups on the table and sat beside him.
"Hot chocolate? " Jimin moved his attention to the drink she made for him.
She nodded. "Yeap, you once told me that you love the hot chocolate I made for you. So here it is. " Jieun smiled.
"Such a good effort, thank you. " He smiled then started drinking it.
She loves looking at how Jimin enjoyed the thing she made. It doesn't matter if it was good or not, Jimin will always appreciate her efforts. Girls need men who appreciate them. Not the ones who'll critic them and tell them that they're not good enough.
A man like Jimin is a good package. Good looking, understanding and kind. He's the man girls want. Jieun was aware about that and she was highly think that the girl who has him as her boyfriend is surely the luckiest girl. "I don't know if you want to make it this obvious but— you know that I can see you staring at me, right? " He looked at Jieun and laughed.
"Why? Do I have something on my face? Can you wipe it for me? " He was very clueless.
"No, no. You're good. " Jieun shook her head.
She cleared her throat once again then looked away. "Did you eat the ramen I bought for you? " Jimin asked.
"Yeah, it tasted so good. Where did you buy it? " Jieun asked, playing along with the conversation to throw the awkward feeling away.
"At a small restaurant near my studio. " He answered with a smile.
"Anyway, when I was buying the food, I saw a pair of sweet couple. " He suddenly changed the topic as he looked at her excitedly.
Jieun raised her brows, feeling slightly confused because Jimin suddenly got all excited after he mentioned about the couple. "Why with them? Why are you so excited? " She asked in curiosity.
He chuckled softly, "Nothing but I just think that—" he stopped then looked into her eyes. "Maybe you need a person like me in your life instead of your jerk ex. " He whined.
"What do you mean? " Jieun didn't get what he was trying to say.
"You need a person like me because one day you can point your finger to me and proudly say; he's mine. "
Jieun's eyes widened right away and she choked on her saliva. "What— I— You must be kidding. " She chuckled nervously while sipping her hot chocolate.
Jimin laughed then shrugged his shoulders. "Well, I'm kidding. " He told her then both of them stayed quiet for a few minutes.
"How I hope you didn't take it as a joke. " He mumbled to himself but it was too slow for Jieun to hear it.
Tomorrow morning
7.40 a.m.
"Where are you going? It's still early in the morning. " Jieun said while glancing at the clock.
Jimin was wearing his socks and looked at Jieun who was talking to him. "I'm going to the studio. I want to meet the kids. " He smiled after answering to her.
"So you've make it up with them? " She asked with interest in her voice.
He nodded. "Kind of. I'm feeling like buying them some food today. Wanna come along?" He asked.
Jieun wanted to go with him but she promised to Jungkook that she'll spend time with him. Sighing, she shook her head. "It's alright, I promised to have breakfast with Jungkook today. " She pouted slightly.
Jimin nodded but he was sad. He wished she could come along. But since it was for Jungkook, then he was fine. "Alright then. Take care, and if that Myundae guy come again to disturb you, just give me a call and I'll be here just in a blink, okay? " He asked.
Jieun chuckled at how protective and funny he was being. "Okay, don't worry. Have fun with them. " She said before waving at him as he was slowly walking away.
After 10 minutes, Jungkook reached the apartment with some food with him. "Jieun!" He got so excited when he saw his best friend's face. "Long time no see, how were your days without me? " He asked.
"Just fine, I don't need you all the time. You're not my babysitter. " She scoffed after letting him in. Getting such answer from her, he acted like he was offended.
"You don't have to attack me like that, " he pouted.
She chuckled at how he reacted then rolled her eyes. "What you have? " She looked down at the plastic bag he was holding.
He raised the plastic bag higher then smiled at her. "I have some burgers. Let's eat! "
"Burgers for breakfast? Who eat them for breakfast? " She questioned him.
He scoffed. "Forget about your diet plans and let's just eat. It won't affect you that bad. " He put the plastic bag on the table and looked around. "Where's Jimin? Still sleeping? " He asked.
"No, he left early today. He goes to the studio. " She answered.
Jungkook smiled. "Good. That means I can spend a quality time with my best friend. " He acted childishly and clapped his hands in excitement.
"So now—" he stopped when he noticed her red puffy eyes. "Jieun, why are your eyes red? Did you cry? " He asked right away and stepped closer to her.
She furrowed her brows then looked into the mirror. "Is it too obvious? " She sighed.
"Pretty obvious. " He stated. "Now tell me what happened? Were you fighting with Jimin? " He asked, ready to get whoever that made his best friend cried.
"No, it wasn't him. Nothing happened. Really. "
He scoffed and held her shoulders. "You really think I'm going to trust you? Stop with your lies and tell me now before I meet Jimin and ask him to tell me the truth. " He could sensed something was wrong.
"Or did—" He remembered of someone. "Did your ex— I mean, did he come here? " He guessed and unexpectedly, his guess was true. Jieun nodded her head slowly.
"Yeah, he came here yesterday to meet me." She sighed.
"He was the reason you cried? He must said something inappropriate. " He gritted his teeth. "Tell me what he told you. " He gestured but Jieun seemed like she didn't want to say a thing.
Feeling pissed off, he pulled up his sleeves and made his way towards the door. "Don't worry, I'll make sure he regrets his decision of coming here. "
"No! Jungkook, don't. What are you doing? " Jieun stopped him from going anywhere.
"What else? Let me punch his face. He hurt my friend. " He seemed so pissed off.
"No, please. Just don't. I don't want to make this matter any bigger. Besides, he didn't say something harsh to me. "
"Then what he said to you till you cried? Tell me now. " He gestured and Jieun knows him so well that if she doesn't tell him the truth, he would find Myundae right away and give him a big punch on his face.
Sighing deeply, she held his arm and looked up at him. "He wants me back, "
