Break Up

We're over. Let's break up.

Self respect. That's all I need. I was too late to realize that I had been loving the wrong person for almost 2 years. For me, two years isn't a short time.

I just finally realized that I wasn't asking for too much, I was just asking the wrong person. It hurts to know that I wasted my precious two years loving the wrong person. I loved someone who doesn't know how to appreciate me.

Such a tragic life of mine.

As I was overwhelmed by various of vicious feelings that were muddling on my mind, I suddenly felt a warm hand was holding my back. Knowing that it was my friend, I turned back to look at him.

"Jieun? " He asked then bended his back to equalize our heights. He knew that I just broke up with my boyfriend so he brought a small bouquet of flowers and handed it to me. "Take this. I know these flowers can help you to feel better. "

I sniffled then pulled his arm to make him sits beside me. The sad feelings that were hunting me a few seconds ago suddenly go away after looking at his face. "He broke up with me. " I claimed while looking down at my lap.

Jungkook looked at me with no emotions then patted my back in order to make me feel better. Everytime I'm going through a hard time, Jungkook would always be by my side no matter what. He's the one who'd make time for me.

"So he's the one who makes my Jieun cries?" His soft voice melted down in my ears.

I wiped my tears then slightly hit his arm. "Stop being a sweet talker, I'm sobbing right now. " I frowned.

He let out a soft chuckle then scooted closer to me. "You won't get anything for crying over that jerk. He doesn't deserve you, though. You deserve a better man. Come on, stop crying and give me a smile." He tried to cheer me up.

"How many times should I tell you that you're too perfect for a short guy like him? Trust me, one day you'll find someone better. He's too short for you. " He rolled his eyes then looked at my luggage.

"So you're moving out? Really? " He looked back at me.

"Yeah. I don't want to live at my apartment anymore. He'd probably find me back after regretting his decision. I don't want him to bother me after this. " I answered.

"Can you help me, kook? " I looked at him with big eyes. It was one of my ways to make him agree with me and gladly, it worked.

He heaved a sigh. "Alright, anything for you. Let's go. You can stay at my house for a few days. " He took my luggage and looked down at me who was still sitting on the bench.

"Let's go. I'll buy you some food. " He offered.

"That sounds so much better. " A smile finally curved up on my face.

After we spent some time at the restaurant, I asked him to bring me to his apartment as I was feeling a bit exhausted and really needed a rest. The energy I had before was wasted to cry over that stupid guy.

I stood outside of the restaurant while waiting for Jungkook to finish paying for our meals.

Once he was done, he made his way out then went to me. "Alright, let's go. " He patted my head again and both of us walked towards his car.

"Are you feeling better? " He asked me as we got into his car. I noticed that he barely eat his food at the restaurant just now. Instead, he kept his eyes on me as if he was trying to see if I was still thinking about my break up.

With a small smile on my face, I nodded my head. "Of course. Thanks for the meal though. " I giggled.

He sighed in relief after I told him that I was fine. "Glad to hear that. "

He started the car engine and drove away. "Anyway, " he changed the topic.

"My friend is going to come over and maybe he's going the spend the night at my house. Are you okay with that? " He asked while pulling the steering wheel.

It was weird. As what I know, Jungkook didn't have much friends. "I'm fine. Don't worry. Is it a guy? " I tended to ask.

He nodded. "Yeah, he went to the same college as me. But don't worry, I'll make sure he won't bother you. " He smiled at me.

I laughed at his words. "You don't have to do so, though. I'm fine. Besides, maybe I can make a new friend, right? I hope he has a cool personality. "

"I bet you'll go crazy once you know him. " He smirked.

"Where should I put your luggage? Do you want to see your room now? " He asked as we walked into his house. "Sorry for this mess. I was rushing when. I got your call this morning and didn't have much time to clean up all of this. " He felt disgusted with his own living room.

Empty cans, yesterday's pizzas and some dirt on the couch. Does he really live like this?

"Well, it's totally— fine. I can help you to clean up. " I told him while holding my breath.

He smiled at my words. "Good. Thank you. "

"By the way, your room is upstairs. Next to mine. It's pink coloured. I hope you'd like it and if you need anything, just let me know, okay? " He made sure everything was fine for me.

Feeling glad, I nodded my head and give him a big grin. "Thank you kook. I promise I'll find a new apartment as soon as possible. "

About 20 minutes later, I heard someone kept ringing the bell. It was probably Jungkook's friend.

Sighing, I got off from my bed and yelled, "Jungkook, your friend is here. Why aren't you opening the door? "

No response.

Maybe he was showering. So to not making his friend waits for too long, I tied my hair up and went downstairs to open the door. It's rude to let your guest waits.

Without thinking of anything, I grabbed the key that was hung on the wall then started to unlock the door. Suddenly, I found myself struggling with the door as I screwed up with the key. It has a lot of keys and I had no idea about which one of them was the right key.

"Jungkook, are you there? " The guy kept knocking the door which I found kinda annoying.

Groaning in suffocating, I chose a random key and tried to enter it into the hole while hoping it was the right key. Thank God, it was the right one and I can finally open the door for the noisy boy.

He was looking down at his phone and once he realized the door was already opened, he moved his eyes to me. With a small gasp, he asked, "Since when do Jungkook has a little sister? "

I rolled my eyes quietly, "Correction. I'm his friend, Jieun. How about you? " I asked and for the very first after awhile, I got to bless my eyes with a good looking man. Man, I didn't expect that his friend could look this good.

"My name is Taehyung. Nice to meet you. " He gave me his hand to shake with. My eyes slowly looked down at his hand and a sudden thought of how good and perfect his hand looks suddenly hit me at the moment. But gladly I was still conscious of my surroundings so in order to avoid myself from looking like a fool, I shook my hand with his.

Then, I heard a footsteps sound was coming towards our ways. "Oh, Tae. You're here. " Jungkook's face lightened up when he saw his friend.

"This is Jieun. She's my best friend. " She introduced me to Taehyung.

"Yeah, she told me already. " He stated while taking off his shoes.

"Really? " Jungkook's eyes slowly trailed down to look at me and his reaction suddenly changed.

"I know you just broke up with your ex but I didn't expect you'd find someone new this quick. " He whispered into my ear. Widening my eyes, I pinched his arm.

"Who said I was flirting with him? I just asked for his name. " I rolled my eyes and made my way into the living room.

"So how are you doing now? " Jungkook asked his friend while taking some bites of the sandwich I made for them.

Taehyung was too busy focusing on his food to even responding to his question. Jungkook heaved a deep sigh and rolled his eyes in annoyance. "Tae, I'm talking to you. Give me some responses. "

"You're talking to me? " He asked, totally clueless about what was going on. "Oh yeah, you are. " He munched his sandwich.

"I'm doing great, like— really great. It's just I want to spend some more time with myself before starting to work with my dad. He wants me to work with him since I'm the only child who can inherit his company. " He tended to talk even his mouth was full with food. My current sight was quite weird and somehow disgusting.

"Your dad owns a company? " I tried to join the conversation.

"Yes. " He answered shortly. "Anyway, are you staying with Jungkook? Cause when I walked pass the room beside his room, I saw some girls stuff though. "

I choked. "Girls stuff? What do you mean? " I began to panicked after hearing his words.

"High heels and some hair pins. " I heaved a relief sigh after he answered my question. I thought he saw something else.

"So tell me. Are you staying with him? You guys are just best friends or a couple? I'm confused. " He asked casually.

With the uncomfortable question asked by Taehyung, both of me and Jungkook looked at each other as an image of me and him being a couple popped up on our minds. Thinking that it was so disgusting and awkward, I frowned and looked away. "No, we're just best friends. There no way we would have a relationship with each other. That's— gross. " I rolled my eyes.

"Ew. I don't want it either. " Jungkook scoffed at my statement and looked at Taehyung.

He finished his sandwich with only a few bites then put his plate on the table. Wiping his mouth with his hand sleeve, he looked at me and asked, "Are you planning to stay here for a long time? I mean like— forever?"

To be honest, that was such a stupid question to be asked. Is it possible for me to stay with Jungkook forever? Absolutely no.

"Of course I'm not. I'll just stay here till I find a new apartment. " I stated.

"Oh, " he nodded. "Actually, I have a friend who has a spare room at his house. Maybe you can rent the room? I'm just suggesting. I think it won't cost much and you can save your money instead of renting a whole apartment. His house is pretty big. I can guarantee you'd be satisfied. "

Finally I found something useful from him.

"That sounds good, though. When can I go there? Can you bring me there? " I asked in excitement. Living with Jungkook was a good idea. But at the same time, I didn't want to be a burden to him.

"Anytime. Just tell me when and I'll bring you to his house. "

"Sure. " I grinned.

The next morning, I woke up super early and packed all my stuffs. I noticed that Jungkook was looking at me with his arms crossed. "Are you sure you want to move out today? You just moved in yesterday, though. We haven't get to spend much time together. " He somehow sounded sad because I was leaving.

"Stop being emotional, kook. My new place is just a few kilometers from here. You can come and visit me anytime. " I rolled my eyes and closed the zip.

Pulling the luggage with me, I handed the handle to him. "Can you bring it down for me? " I asked softly.

I could say that he forced a smile so that he won't look so sad. "Sure. "

"So where do your friend lives? " I asked Taehyung who was driving the car.

"Somewhere in Seoul. Don't worry, it only takes around 10 minutes from his house to Jungkook's. So you can meet him everyday." He gave me an extra information.

Smiling, "That's good. Jungkook has started to get worried about me living with an unknown guy. " I chuckled.

He threw me a glare, "Who wouldn't? You don't even know him, right? Who knows if he might do something to you? " He asked. Such a protective friend.

Taehyung stopped his car then looked at Jungkook. "Don't worry, I know him very well and I'm certain that he won't do anything bad to her. He's a good guy. " He asserted.

"Good guy, " Jungkook scoffed.

"We're here. " Taehyung told us while taking off the seatbelt. I raised my eyebrows and looked out the window to take a quick look of the apartment building. Unexpectedly, it was pretty big. Bigger than what I thought.

Wow.

Taehyung looked at me through the car mirror and asked, "Are you ready to see your new house? "

I smiled, widely. "Absolutely yes. "

"Let's go. "

Taehyung rung the bell as we waited for his friend to open the door.

"Is your friend even home? Why isn't he opens the door? " Jungkook whined.

"Wait. Maybe he's in the toilet. " Taehyung unlocked his phone, trying to call him. "Duh, he's not answering my calls. " He groaned.

"Hello? Is anyone home? " He knocked on the door while yelling.

As he was about to give up, a man suddenly approached us from behind.

"Taehyung? " A soft male voice spoke, making me to look back at him. There, right behind us, was a medium tall guy with perfect moist skin and a nice thick lips.

Taehyung looked at the guy and went straight to him. "There you are. I've been calling you for thousands times. " He held his shoulders and looked at me and Jungkook.

"Jieun, this is Jimin. Your new housemate."

My eyes widened in disbelief and my heart beat like a thunder. I met another handsome guy. My break up brings me luck I guess.

Unfulfilled.
