   " ...Vylad?"

He nodded as he searched a bag of his. He brought out a match and lit it. He held it down towards my legs, but it didn't work. He ran over to a tree and tore a piece of bark off. He jumped back over the spikes that looked like they grew more. He lit the bark on fire and it held a larger blaze than the match. He held the bark towards my legs again, but it didn't work.

   " This has to work!"

   " V-Vylad. "

   " It's going to work. I just need a bigger piece of wood."

He stood up and was about to run and jump over the spikes, but I grabbed his legs and held him back.

   " Y/n! What are you doing?"

He removed my hands from his legs and sat down and held my hands in his.

   " Vylad if you jump over those spikes again they will go through you. Fire won't stop this Vylad. I'm out of time. "

   " Isn't there something we can do?"

I shook my head no. He doesn't understand. This is how it has to be. He held my hands tighter. One of his hands held both of mine while the other held my left cheek. His green eyes stared back at my E/c eyes. Sadness decorated his face. Then his lips crashed into mine. I kissed back immediately. The kiss was sweet, gentle, and hopeful. When we pulled away we just stared into each other's eyes.

Odd enough I didn't feel cold anymore. I felt warm, Not cold, but warm. I broke our eye contact and looked down at my legs. They were...

...unfrozen.

Vylad's eyes traveled down too and I could see that his eyes widened.

   " Y/n. You're not frozen. "

I nodded and smiled. I looked back at Vylad. He had a questioning gaze.

   " H-How. I mean I'm happy Irene spared you, but how?"

   " I don't kno-the old rules."

   " What?"

   " The old rules still apply! That's why I'm still alive. "

   " What rules?"

   " When I was about to be frozen the first time there was a cure. The rule was that I needed to find true love my 21st birthday. By a certain time. I wasn't able to. They still apply today!"

   " To find true love by a certain time. "

I nodded and his eyes sparkled with joy. He picked me up and spun me around. Then he set me down hugging me. I hugged him back. Then I noticed something.

   " Vylad where's your scarf?"

   " Ahh, It's in my pocket. When I saw you run past me I ran after you. I became too hot and so I took it off. "

I nodded my head.

   " We have to go tell the others!"

   " Wait. Wait. Hold on. "

He grabbed my hand and pulled my back to him.

   " I need to ask you something. "

I nodded.

   " Y/n b-before I forget will you be my girlfriend?"

   " Vylad you just saved me from being frozen. The only way that could happen is true love. True love is not one-sided, but it's love shared between us..."

I kissed him quickly.

   "...so what do you think?"

His small smile turned into a big grin. He hugged me and I embraced him back.

   " Thank you Irene for sending me, my own angel. "

I giggled at his reaction. I took his hand in mine and we walked down the hill together. When we reached the bottom I saw everyone looking for me with worry written across all their faces. When they saw me they all shouted,

   " Y/n!"

They ran towards us. They all collided together hugging me. When they pulled away. They all looked worried.

   " Guys I have news."

They all leaned in to hear what I had to say.

   " The curse is gone. "

   " How?"

   " The old rules still apply Aphmau. I had to find true love in a certain amount of time. "

Her smile grew.

   " But, I lost my powers in the process. "

Her smile faltered a little bit, but then it came back and she hugged me along with Katlyn.

   " I don't care Y/n. " Aphmau said.

   " You're a great swordsman without the powers Y/n. We are just glad you are back and can stay with us forever. " Katlyn said.

I hugged them back crying into their shoulders.

   " Wait. "

Katlyn pulled away and held my shoulders tightly.

   " Who is your true love!?"

Vylad's grip on my hand tightened. Katlyn looked down at our intertwined hands. Her anger diminished quickly.

   " I...I can't really say anything to you Vylad. You're always quiet and keeping to yourself. Don't hurt Y/n and we'll be fine. "

Vylad nodded. Aphmau, on the other hand, took Katlen's role and started telling Vylad not to hurt me, or what's going to happen. I saw the guys on the side. They all looked a little sad. I walked over to them.

   " Guys, I'm sorry. "

   " It's fine Y/n. We forgive you. Plus I think my eyes are starting to sit on Katlyn. "

   " Good luck with that Travis. "

   " It's fine Y/n. You can still come talk to me is something happens with Vylad though. " Laurence said.

   " I'll make sure my baby brother is a gentleman around you. " Garroth said.

   " Thanks, guys. "

I hugged them all. Then I felt a tugging on my arms. I looked to see Katlyn and Kawaii~Chan pulling me towards KC's house.

   " Guys, what's going on?"

   " Kawaii~Chan and Katlyn~Sama are going to get Y/n~Sama ready for the party tonight. "

Katlyn and Kawaii~Chan were walking me to the beach where we were having a bonfire/party. Kawaii~Chan was dressed in a short pink dress with pink fluff decorating the rims of it. Katlyn was wearing a long light blue dress. I was wearing,

When we reached the beach I saw everyone there having fun. I saw Travis looking at Katlyn's butt.

   " Katlyn quick warning. Travis said that he had his eyes on you, and he is currently staring at your butt. "

   " That little weasel. "

She started stomping her way towards Travis. Dante came and stole Kawaii~Chan away from me. I saw Vylad and he looked like he was having fun talking to Garroth. Then his eyes found mine. His smile widened and he started walking towards me.

   " You look beautiful Y/n. "

   " Thanks. Not too shabby yourself. "

   " Let me ask you a question. Do you know what my favorite color is?"

I shook my head no and he touched the bottom part of the dress.

   " It's green. "

   " Kawaii~Chan did this on purpose!"

He laughed at my reaction then he grabbed my hand. We started dancing with everyone. After a while of dancing, Vylad decided to take a break. I sat with him against a tree watching the party go on.

   " Hey Y/n?"

   " Ya Vylad?"

   " I love you. "

   " I love you to Vylad. "

He grabbed my hand and squeezed it. I squeezed back. I looked at him and he smiled at me. I smiled at the calm silence we both had. Not awkward but calm.
