I woke up not meeting Garroth at the dream place. I got out of bed and started walking around. I found Ben and pulled on his shoulder.

   " Ready to finish Alta?"

    " You know I am."

I grabbed the stone out of my pocket and he held my hand.

   " Alta." then white covered our vision. When it cleared we were back in Alta. We started working on the buildings and getting the furniture in the buildings cleaned up. We were almost done, but I had something on my mind.

   ' Who's going to take care of Alta?'

I kept thinking about this. How there was no Lord. I walked towards the fountain and noticed someone at the gate. It was a woman with Blonde hair. She looked Ben's age. I walked up to the gate. She had fear in her eyes.

   " Excuse me are you okay?"

   " Yes, I am. Is this Alta?"

   " Yes, it is. Who are you?"

   " I used to live here when I was a child. THen when I started growing up the people were taken. I was taken with them only a child."

   " Whose child were you? I lived here for a year and knew all the people."

   " Miss Rosealinda's daughter. Mary?"

I smiled.

   " I knew Rosalinda she was a good baker. Here come in. You were just a child back then. You've grown so much."

   " Thank you."

   " Are there others like you from Alta?"

   " Yes. Most of us are elders and children that grew up here before they took us."

   " By all means come in. This is your home always was and will be."

   " Spoken by a true alter."

I gestured her and the others behind her in. They all came in looking scared. I could tell though they felt happiness. I walked up to one woman and asked

   " How did you all escape?"

   " It was lead by Mary and a few others. They said we needed to come back."

I nodded and stood on the fountain.

   " My fellow alters. I welcome you all back. I once knew the Lord. Jeb and he spoke some kind words to me one time. That is the only reason this place still stands today. We treat this place right and rebuild it then it will protect us and give us shelter. He said that only those in need will find it. That this place is a myth almost and it's so precious. I encourage you all to stay here with my son and me..."

I gestured for him to come stand on the fountain with me. He did so.

   " ...We can bring Alta back along with its strength. This place fell because of those bad people out there that took you and all those others. They took you all away from your home. They took Jeb away from us all. We must defend our village better. I can't do all the work on its own. It needs help. We will help it. Even if it risks our lives. Are you all with me?"

They all were silent for a while. Then they started cheering. I was proud of them. All of them. They got settled into their houses and started fixing up some parts of the town with their bare hands. Ben stood beside me. That got an Idea going.

   " Ben, what do you think of all this?"

    " I think it's amazing to have all of them back and safe. At least all of them. I'm glad my brothers and sisters survived."

   " ...Jeb called them his brothers and sisters."

   " Ya, I guess he did."

   " Ben I have been thinking of something."

   " Ya?"

   " Laurence is going on a trip again with the others. They want me to come. While we were here fixing this place up I was thinking who would be the Lord of Alta?"

   " I honestly thought you would mom."

   " I was planning on it too, but then I started thinking about all the things you've done since I was gone."

   " What? I do-"

   " I know when you ran away and came here you started working on fixing Alta up. I saw some of the buildings in good condition. I know you did that Ben. You took care of Alta when no one else would."

   " Of course it's my home. It took care of me so I have to help it back."

   " That's the thing, Ben. I want you to be the Lord."

   " Me!?"

   " Yes. Jeb said if he was ever to die. THat I was going to take his role as Lord. I still am today. I pass that on to you Ben. I need to travel and I know you will take care of this place with love and trust instead of greed and hatred."

   " T-Thanks mom."

   " Don't thank me. Go and live in our old house or in Jeb's. Find a wife and live a life as a Lord that will go down in history."

   " I love you, mom."

   " I love you too Ben. I'll come visit."

He nodded and stepped away from me.

   " Phoenix Drop," I said and white covered my vision. It cleared ad I was back in Phoenix Drop. I let a tear fall finally knowing that Ben had grown up and matured while I was gone.
