Jason's POV

*2 days later*

I sighed for the thousandth time today, me and Kelli have been looking for houses but we can't seem to find one that we both like. I want one far away from the town so no one will bother us, but she wants one that is close to a town so the kids can go to school. We have been fighting about this for hours now and I'm tired of it.

"The whole reason we are leaving is to get away from people. If we move into a town people will know us, so what's the point?" I say running my hands through my hair.

"People are going to know us anywhere we go, I'm just saying it will be closer to a school and a town if we need things" Kelli says trying to convince me.

"Ok how about this, we hire some homeschool teachers and people that can bring us food and supplies, or have one of the members do it" I say trying to think about things that can make this conversation end.

"I want my kids to be involved with other kids" she says. I sigh just again and check the baby cam, looking down at my two little angles sleeping in their own cribs.

"They will g-" I was cut off my Kelli's phone ringing. I look back at my laptop, half the screen is the baby cam that was in the room, the other was a listing of houses.

"Hello?" Kelli asks playing with her long hair.

"Wow, calm down Kate. Who is it?" She asks sitting up in her chair a little. I do the same.

"Ok, run to the old tree house, use the back entrance but back sure your not seen" she says in a hurry before ending the phone conversation. She stands up, wincing a little.

"One of Letterman's goons are after Kate. I told her to run to an old hide out of ours. Call your mom and tell her to watch the kids" Kelli says loading her gun clip. I nod and send a text to my mom, she quickly agrees and says she is on her way.

"Come on, she doesn't know how to deal with this stuff" Kelli says walking out of my office, down the stairs and out to the car. Mom pulls up as soon as I step outside.

"Thanks for looking after them" I say kissing her cheek.

"No problem sweetie, now you better get going. And don't worry about the kids all of them are in great care" she says patting my shoulder before pushing me toward the car where Kelli sat in the drivers seat. I get in and she takes off in a hurry, speeding down the roads.

It took about a half hour before she stopped. I looked around and we where in an empty parking lot that had woods around three sides of it. Kelli gets out of the car and starts running into the woods, I follow her not really knowing where I'm going.

Kelli follows a small path for a couple minutes then we come upon a old tree house. It look more like a shack then a tree house, Kelli runs around to the side and opens the door, I follow her. It was dark and dusty but with the sunlight through the windows I can still see pretty well.

"Kate?" Kelli whispers in case the goon is anywhere around here. Just then we both her some noises coming from the back of the shack, I walk ahead of Kelli towards the back, with my gun ready to shoot. I opened a door that looked like it was ready to fall and looked around the small room. I spotted her fire red hair.

"Kate, it's Jason and Kelli. Come out" I whisper. I see her look our way and slowly rise up. Her eyes red from crying, once she sees Kelli she runs across the room and tackles her into a hug.

"Shh, It's ok we'll get you home" Kelli says patting her back. Kate nods and we all turn to the front door. Kelli steps out the door with Kate behind her them me, once we are all out I look up at see two tall men.

"Well well well, looks like you know the right people to fuck with and the right people to call" one goon says looking at Kate, she hides behind Kelli as I walk closer to them.

"What do you want?" I ask, even though I know the answer.

"We just came to get our money she owes us" the other one says, I know his name is Brad because I have ran into him once or twice before.

"And she will get you your money. Look she may be pretty but she isn't smart" Kelli says looking behind her at Kate, who just looks at the ground.

"Looks either we get our money in two days or your perfect little children will end up missing" Brad says. Kelli takes step closer to them but I stop her, knowing that this is what they want.

"You won't touch them, your to big of a pussy" I say with anger and hate dripping from every word.

"How do you know that we haven't already? Not us but someone else from our gang?" The other goon asks.

"Because if you did then all of you would be dead right now" Kelli says, her eyes darkening.

"Just get the money to Letterman in two days, and don't think about running off either or else the kiddos will get it" Brad says before walking off with the other goon.

"What are you just going to let them go?" Kate asks almost in shock. I nod, thinking of a plan.

"We let them go for now, the next time we see them will be when we give them the money. Now come on, we need to talk" I say looking at Kelli then at Kate.

They both nod and walk in front of me until we get the the car. I get in and slam my car door, to say that I am pisses is a complete understatement. I was mad because of Kate's mistake now I'm the one that has to pay for it.

"Everyone to the meeting room, that includes you to Kate!" I say as I walk into the gang house with Kelli and Kate behind me. Everyone is a little shocked but they soon get up and walk into the meeting room down stairs. I was the last one into the room and I slammed the door behind me, causing a few looks thrown my way.

"Ok so this is how it's going to go. We are going to pay Kate's debt but she is going to have to work off her debt to us. So that means she works for us, she does the jobs, she lives in this house, she follows my orders. The only way she gets out is when she works off her debt for us or she dies" I say looking around the table but mostly looking at Kate.

"Jason I don't want to be in this life. I can move away so they won't find me" Kate says crying, begging me.

"It's too late, it doesn't matter where you go in the world they will find you and the next time they do they will kill you" i say. She begins to cry her eyes out while Kelli rubs her back.

"So you start tomorrow, Chandler and Derek will train you physically, Chaz will teach you all about the guns and weapons, Fredo and Justin will tech you about other gangs and Maegan will teach you about the female duties of the job" I explain to her, she slowly nods her head.

"Ok everyone leave, but you Chandler. I need you to do something for me" i say. He nods and stays in his seat while everyone gets up.

"Jason I need to talk to you" Kelli says walking up to me. I rub my forehead and shake my head.

"We'll talk when I get home" I say pointing to the door. She rolls her eyes and walks out the door. Once everyone is gone i sigh and sit down in a chair, rubbing my chest. A pain shoots through my heart, right where I was shot, it takes my breath for a while but I regain it.

"Bro are you ok?" Chandler asks sitting forward, putting his hand on my back.

"Iv been getting these pains in my chest, and I'm out of pain medication. Kelli won't let me smoke in the house or anywhere so I have nothing to take away the pain. So I want you to go out and get me some pain pills" I say handing him a couple hundred dollars.

"What do you want?" He asks looking at me. Another pain runs through me.

"Anything" I say. He nods and get up, leaving the room. I know Kelli would be pissed if she found out but what can she do? I'm in pain, under major lack of sleep because of the twins and now under even more stress with Kate's problem. I sigh and get up, walking out of the room and then out of the house.

Walking into my house I notice that mom had left, I walk up to my office and start doing some paper work and looking for houses. Anything to waste time while I wait for Chandler to get back.
