Chapter 9- Bridal Party & Getaways

Emma's POV

"She's going to get annoyed at you, babe." Logan hums, helping me finish up the few last things I have to pack in my suitcase an hour before we have to leave.

"I'm just trying to help prevent her from making a mistake." I admit, turning to look at my dashing fiancé standing there with his hands in his pocket. I let out a low sigh as I place my hands on his hard chest, while he continues to stare down at me with his amused crooked smile.

I mean sure, Giana, might be mad at first for not giving her a heads up of the crazy idea I'm scheming, but if I did she would've never agreed to come.

She's going to thank me one day for this.

"That girl's mind, heart, and soul sings for Liam Palazzesi, and marrying Matt, just because he's a good guy is not the right decision." I proclaim and he Logan nods agreeingly.

"Don't even get me started on, Liam and his feelings for that girl." He remarks with a light shake of his head — it's truly unbelievable the amount of love the two share for each other and how hard they try to deny it.

"They just need to communicate, express how they feel," I explain, throwing in a few more things before zipping the luggage up. "And what better way to do that than to have them in the same room together."

"One flaw in the plan." He points out and I shrug waiting for him to continue. "Matt is also in the party, and just because Liam, is my best man that doesn't automatically force the two hardheaded lovebirds to talk to each other."

I roll my eyes at his small-minded thinking and pat his back as I take care of the work to bring the two together. "Don't forget about all the things they have to work on together soon — like practicing the dance that every partner has to learn for when they walk into the hall."

"You might have a point." He grins. "Did you tell Liam about Giana coming this week?" I question curiously and he chuckles at me. "Why'd you think he agreed? He'd never take a week off of football for just anything."

Don't get me wrong, Matt, is a great guy and he's going to make some girl truly happy one day, but I can gladly confirm that he's not the guy for my best friend.

I think the love ship is about to set sail, sorry Matt, but this is going to be one interesting vacation to say the least.

Giana's POV

"You have to be freaking kidding me!" I exclaim to no one in particular as I spill water onto my pants while waiting on the line with the rest of the bridal party to board onto the ship.

I let out a frustrated huff in aggravation as I throw the plastic bottle into the garbage next to me. Jessy and Rebecca laugh at the fact that it looks like I peed my pants with the spot it landed, I try my best to wipe my pants with the palms of my hand, this was definitely a whole new embarrassment level for me.

My cheeks turned red as I glare at the two.

This is the first time in years that the four of us have been together in the same room, it's crazy how close we still are even after being apart and creating new friendships along the way.

Emma's bridal party consists of me, Jessy, Rebecca, Camila, and her younger cousin Viviana who's twenty.

As for Logan's crew they're basically all here except his best man, what a good job, picking someone who's already late.

Logan has two cousins, one younger who's Vivi's age named, Luke, and one who's a drop older by a few months named, Mason.

Logan and Emma both decided on the day of the wedding who to pair who with already, so basically it's going to be Vivi and Luke together, Rebecca and Mason since she's the one with the bolder personality compared to Jessy, and they chose to pair Matt with Jess.

As for me? I'm paired with the best man, obviously, but he's clearly nowhere to be found. Couldn't they place me with my fiancé instead?

"Hey cutie, nice pants." Matt winks in amusement and giving me a slight mini heart attack as he pops up behind me.

"You're hilarious." I state sarcastically with a simple roll of my eyes, and as I go to take a step forward because of the line moving so quickly ahead, I trip over my own two feet but I luckily catch myself in the process before I can actually fall flat on my face.

Matt taps me on the head as if he was petting a puppy and cooed at me. "You're so adorable like a baby panda who doesn't know how to stand up."

"Thanks?" I shrug not really knowing if that was a compliment or not.

"Hey, sorry I'm late I had a few last minutes things to take of." Only one voice can cause my body to tense up the way it's doing right about now, and as my eyes dart towards him I feel the air close up on me.

No, no, no!

"Guys, this is Liam, my best man." Logan introduces as he pats Liam on the back who's already grinning over at me, and I swear if looks could kill, Logan should run, run as fast as he possibly can.

Matt, Liam and I on the same cruise for a whole week? This is not good. Not to mention the fact that Liam and I are going to be forced to spend time together because these two geniuses decided to pair us for their wedding.

Emma is behind this, of course she is.

My eyes roam every little detail about him, how extra bright his smile is today, how he has on my favorite color of blue on him that enhances his summer tan, his white shorts that he knew made him look good, and a pair of simple white sneakers that matched mine.

"You knew about this?" I accuse as I march my way over towards his built frame that now towers my smaller one. Ironic how he said that one line to me so long ago.

"That's what you mean the other day, wasn't it?" I demand and he just laughs at my feistiness, pretending that the other night never even happened between us. "Pleasure as always seeing you, Giana."

I grumble a few coherent curse words underneath my breath and stand to take my place back to Matt who whispers in my ear. "The other day?"

Shit.

I thought it wasn't the best idea to tell Matt of Liam and I's little encounter because I didn't want to worry him over something he shouldn't, I truly didn't think I was going to be seeing Liam again.

I should've known that Logan would choose Liam to be his best man, they've been best friends since kindergarten.

"Nothing to worry about, babe, I just ran into him the other day with Juliette when we went to get some ice cream." I whisper back, not telling the full truth and not telling a complete lie either.

I have a terrible feeling about all of this.

Liam's eyes and ears are on me and me only, biting back a laugh as he overheard the part where I told Matt that he has nothing to worry about, when in reality I just told Liam I couldn't be his friend the other night.

"How's Sierra, man, is she a keeper? She makes great movies especially the one about the zombies." Matt smiles innocently as we now start to head towards the entrance of the actual boat.

This is Matt's way of pissing off Liam, and he clearly isn't fan of Matt's actions because I instantly notice how white his knuckles are turning from the tight fist he's making.

"Keep walking, bro." Liam laughs sarcastically and Matt obeys his riders with an eye roll, he continues walking with the rest and is one of the first to take a glimpse at the inside of the boat.

"I saw you there." My feet freeze at the entrance as I let those words sink into my brain. "What?"

"A few years ago, the day you went to see that movie he was talking about." He admits and I turn on my heel to face him, my eyes roaming his face and the amusement behind it.

I don't even have to ask what day he's talking about because there's only one movie with, Sierra Summers that I went to go see. I refused to watch any more of them after I found out she was dating, Liam.

"Why didn't you say anything?" I spat angrily and he just chuckles, unfazed by my behavior towards him. "I did."

What? No way, I remember that night clearly and he was not a part of it.

"I think I would've remembered that, Liam."

"Who you think threw the popcorn?"

My mouth falls open at the new, news my ears not believing what I'm actually hearing. All time I thought someone was annoyed with how loud Matt, was talking but I was wrong.

It wasn't an annoyed movie watcher, but Liam.

That's why he was so annoyed when Matt said we were on a date.

It all makes so much sense now.

But why wouldn't he say anything to me until now?

"Listen," I say lowly as my eyes daringly meet his. "I don't know what you're up to with bringing up old memories and feelings, but what you should know is that the only thing you're achieving is aggravating me." I growl and he smirks at me, that stupid charming smirk that always makes me so weak.

"I'm not doing anything, Gia." He says simply before adding with a wink, something that he knows will cut me deeply. "I'll see you inside, friend."

That narcissistic jerk!
