A-IA-R-TLO-01 is the first of his kind. He struggles to adapt to life in the Company and is confused as to why the others don't remember.

A-AA-P-BS-01 is newly created. She is experimental, her life expendable. Weird malfunctions, and what appears to be mutations, are a daily spectacle. Then she breathes.

Two new Artificials, two shocking revelations.

Chapter One

The first thing I notice is the whiteness. The cushioned walls, floor and ceiling are pure white, hurting my eyes. I was lying an a stainless steel table, clothed in simple cotton. The shirt was the blue of summer skies and the pants white as the clouds. A hissing sound filled the room as a hidden door slid open, revealing a figure. She was dressed entirely in- wait for it- white. Her hair was a washed out blonde and hung just above her shoulders in a straight cut. Everything about her appeared faded. She approached me cautiously as if I was something to be wary of.

"How do you feel?"
"Strange."

Her 'caring' personality disappeared, becoming brisk and efficient once more.

"I am Doctor R, your creator. The other Doctors that helped create you are Dr. S and Dr. J. You won't see too much of them."

I nod, taking in the information. A sudden thought struck me.

"What do you mean 'create'?"

She took a deep breath, a smile lighting up her face.

"You are the first successful Insect Artificial we have engineered. You are 58% human, 30% black ant and 12% grasshopper. At the Company, the Doctors create Artificials- teenagers with other DNA. You are the first bug. There are two lions, a koala, a wolf and three bears- one polar, two grizzlies- in this block. Each block has specific Doctors who try to engineer specific things."

I looked at her blankly.

"Feel your head. Look at yourself." She instructed.

I glanced at me arms and my mouth fell open. A long, almost clear scythe blade poked out just below my elbows on each arm. My skin itself was light green. A pair of dark green feelers were attached to my head, my two pairs of liquid amber eyes taking in different angles of my surroundings. A third compound pair gave me a nauseous feeling trying to use them.

"Your legs are incredibly strong, meaning you can jump extremely high. Also, your senses, specifically smell, are much stronger. We can talk later. For now, you will be introduced to the other Artificials in the Block and then taken to your room."

I nod numbly, not quite believing what I was hearing and seeing.
