Chapter One

Sunlight gave the room a warm atmosphere, falling gently across the single bed in the corner. The light blue duvet is crumpled, the pillows askew. The dark wood wardrobe is open, displaying everything from floral dresses to ripped jeans. High heels, sneakers, boots and slippers are arranged neatly in rows at the bottom. A gentle breeze stirred the branches of the tree outside of the large white window, the branches rapping softly against the glass. A plain white door opens and the sound of dripping water enters the room. A pale body slips from the door, steam billowing outwards. A fluffy white towel is wrapped around the slim figure, wavy light brown locks falling across her back. She walks over to the wardrobe, pulling a black layered top and pair of jeans from its depths. The girl dressed, pulling on a pair of black zip up ankle boots to complete the outfit. She walked over to a desk, choosing a silver necklace and brushing her gorgeous mousey hair into a ponytail. The girl carries on getting ready and then exits the room, heading downstairs.

The kitchen is light and airy, everything made of light-coloured wood. A set of windows are open, fresh air flowing through them. At the table sat an elegant looking woman with blonde hair. Sitting opposite her was her son, whose dark brown hair falls messily across his eyes. Next to the boy was a man. The man's thick dark brown hair was stiff and closely shaved to his head, his heavy calloused hands resting upon the table. The girl entered the room. She took a slice of toast and a chocolate chip muffin before walking swiftly out of the house. She never stays.

The bus is crowed, making it hard for me to find a seat for Jess and myself. Rob stuck out his leg in an attempt to trip me, but I just smile and carry on. Like always. Jess pulls me into a seat near the front of the bus, her manicured nails digging slightly into my skin.
"So, are you going to the dance with Harley?" Jessica asks me, green eyes curious.
I roll my eyes, "Obviously. That's what you do when you have a boyfriend."
She grinned. "That's not what Cammie's doing. She's going with Jacob, not Brent."
