A/n: Apparently this took place in Mario Tennis Aces. And Ria was a slave to King Boo... DAMN.

Prologue: Mario Tennis Aces

Today was the day, Mario and Princess Peach were up against Bowser and his son in a tennis match, the last tennis match of the season. "Go Mario! Go Peach!" Daisy yells from the stands as Luigi waves a flag with a big smile. Mario hits the ball and it hits Bowser's court; the game was over.

Luigi leaps over the fence to congratulate his brother and Peach, but Waluigi and Wario walk onto the court, "Congratulations on the win Mario," the two say, they look between each other with uneasy expressions then collapse.

"What's with the bandages you two?" Peach asks,

"Yeah are you okay?" Mario adds,

"Wait!" Toad calls, running over, "Something's not right with those two," he glares at the two.

"We brought the most splendid present," Wario says,

"It's a powerful racket we found at the Temple of Bask," Waluigi adds, pulling the large golden racket out of his back pocket (because screw logic),

"It's so shiny," Luigi exclaims stepping forward,

"This racket could be yours Mario..." Wario continues,

"No Luigi not you!" Waluigi yells as the green plumber runs forward to grab the racket. The two scream as purple smoke engulfs Luigi, the sky turns dark as Luigi is electrocuted with purple lightning. Metallic bandages fully wrap around his body and his eyes turn green, Wario and Waluigi attempt to run away but the smoke grabs them and turns them into metallic zombies. Peach and Mario look at them and they snarl, the onlookers run away in fear for their own safety.

Mario, Peach and Daisy hide behind the referee's chair as the wind blows roughly. And then it stops. They open their eyes to see that the trio and the racket were gone, "Luigi?" Peach calls with weariness, Daisy rubs her head and looks around, Mario spots a large swirling cloud with a purple glow inside and calls out:

"LUIGI!".

Part one: The Mansion

Ria sits in the foyer of the mansion as King Boo "paces" around waiting for his minions, "Useless...." He hisses, Ria looks up at him and then back to the mirror, her black hair was swept over her right eye and her teal eyes didn't hold as much happiness as she did before. Eventually three Boos appear with scared expressions, "What is it you fools?" King Boo asks,

"Lucien has returned. Luigi, Waluigi and Wario have been cast under his spell," one of the Boos replies,

"What about Mario?" King Boo asks,

"He's in-tact," the same Boo replies, King Boo frowns.

"Set up the defences. We can't let Mario or that sentient tennis racket get my power stone," King Boo demands, the three Boos salute and disappear again, "It's not safe for you here my gem," King Boo turns to Ria,

"I can survive," she says with pride,

"Hah! no." King Boo says. Ria huffs and crosses her arms,

"Can I please stay!" Ria exclaims, "I have no-where else to go," King Boo stares down at the human girl, he gives her a sad smile,

"It's the only thing I can do to keep you safe my gem," he replies giving her a light kiss on the cheek, Ria sighs and says:

"Okay fine... I'll go," she gets up and walks to her room to pack her stuff.

Ria sits at the edge of the river and stares at the fishes happily swimming in the clear water, she hears a twig snap and turns around to see a short man wearing red and a Toad. "Oh hello!" the red man greets with a smile, "Can you direct us to the Boo Mansion?"

"No sir. I'm not aware of its location," Ria lies,

"Oh... Alright... Are you okay madam?" he asks,

"Not really. Got kicked out of my house," Ria says, the red man gasps,

"Come with us. We can get you a place to stay... after we save the world from destruction,"

"Sure man. If it's no trouble,"

"No trouble at all. My name is Mario"

"My name is Ria," Ria says.

"What a beautiful name. It suits a beautiful lady like you," the Toad exclaims, Ria blushes with a smile, "What the heck were you doing out here though?"

"It's the only place I could think of," Ria lies again, the duo nod and gesture for her to walk with them.

«Θ»

"That was close." Mario says, Ria smiles sadly,

"Good thing you didn't die!" she tries to say enthusiastically, Mario nods, Toad shoots a questioning look to Ria's direction.

"Explain to me why you didn't want to go in," Mario demands without force,

"I have a fear of ghosts," Ria lies, Mario nods,

"We all have to conquer our fears madam," he says thoughtfully.

"Where to now?" Ria asks, "Won't Wario, Luigi and Waluigi be on our tails?" Mario nods at Toad, he leads the way.

Part Two: Ice Caps To Blimp Laps

"We got it!" Mario exclaims holding up the power gem, Toad claps with a wide smile, Ria hears a propeller and turns to see a purple blimp. A possessed Waluigi was leaning out of the window, he grabs Ria while Wario grabs the power gem off of Mario. Ria screams as the emotionless Waluigi pulls her into the vehicle, Mario and Toad run after the blimp, but it was too fast for them.

"What were you doing with that fool?" a dark voice asks,

"I don't know. Why did you capture me?" Ria counters, Luigi's possessed self walks out of the shadows and glowers at her,

"Because you may be of use," Luigi says evilly,

"How?" Ria asks, "I used to be a slave to King Boo and I even failed at that," Luigi raises an eyebrow at her,

"Shut her up," Luigi demands before walking off. Wario pushes Waluigi forward and then follows his leader, the dark Waluigi glares at Wario then looks down at Ria.

"Hi?" she questions,

"Hi." Waluigi replies nonchalantly, he sits down in front of her in the dark, his purple eyes piercing the blackness, "What is your name?"

"Ria..." Ria replies wearily, Waluigi nods and stays quiet as the engine of the blimp grows louder, "Where are we going?". Waluigi shrugs,

"They won't tell," he says, "But I think we are going to get the last power-stone thingy..." he raises an eyebrow, "Why do you ask?"

"I was just curious," Ria states, she lays down and sighs.

They reached the outskirts of Bowser's territory and were waiting for Mario to arrive so they could steal the last power gem from him. "What are we waiting for exactly?" Ria asks,

"We are waiting for Mario to get the last power stone," Luigi replies while holding Lucien,

"Lazy much?" Ria questions, Luigi glares at her,

"Get her out of here Waluigi!" Waluigi walks over from his post and grabs Ria.

"You really have to quit with the sass," he sighs, walking her over to the back part of the blimp, he sits her down and then sits across from her.

"I can tell you don't like it here much," Ria says, Waluigi nods, "Why stay?"

"I have to follow orders." He replies, "I'm bound to Lucien," Ria nods,

"Any way to free you?" Ria asks. Waluigi frowns and shakes his head,

"Only boss can free us," he sighs, Ria puts a hand on his shoulder,

"Hey idiots!" Wario calls, "We're going to be here a while! Mario is caught in a storm!"

"How nice." Ria grumbles, Waluigi rolls his eyes. "Want to chill or something?"

"Nothing else to do so... yeah I guess..." Waluigi replies,

"Are you the real Waluigi? Or just... I don't know..." Ria asks,

"I am he. He is me. I'm altered to follow Lucien. Lucien is my puppeteer." Waluigi says, Ria blinks at him. "What?"

"That was a strange response..." she states.

Part Three: An Attraction

It has been a while since Ria had to stay with the possessed trio - and Lucien. Turns out: In his dark form, Luigi was a jerk, Wario's dark form is violent and rowdy, and Waluigi's dark form was an emotionless and awkward guy who gets mistreated. And Ria stayed the same.

"Can't we just go down there and get the damn thing ourselves?" Wario asks,

"NO." Luigi hisses, "Only Mario can get the stone," Wario rolls his eyes and continues to hit the tennis ball to the net. "Where the hell is Waluigi?"

"With the girl again. Won't leave her alone," Wario responds, Luigi huffs and walks over to the back area of the blimp.

He spots Waluigi and Ria chatting it up happily, "WALUIGI! TRAINING NOW!" he yells at the purple plumber, Waluigi jumps up and runs away as to not get punished. Luigi looks down at the girl,

"Dude. You got to chill," Ria says, Luigi growls at her,

"What have you done to him?" he asks,

"What have I done? What have you done?" Ria replies, "You've been mistreating the poor fellow and he comes to me for comfort," Luigi glares down at the girl,

"Let this be a warning..." he says through gritted teeth, he walks away to the front of the blimp again. Ria rolls her eyes and lays down to sleep.

«Θ»

Ria woke up to the sound of thunder. A storm? She opens her eyes to see a distressed Waluigi shaking her, "Good you're up!" he exclaims, "We are over the stadium getting ready to play a game of tennis against Mario to get the power stone,"

"What's with the thunder and lightning?" Ria asks,

"Lucien thought it'd be cool," Waluigi shrugs, "Want to hang out in the town? We got time before the game."

"Sure." Ria replies with a smile,

"Not happening." Luigi states, "Waluigi needs to train." He glares at Waluigi again,

"Dude-" Waluigi covers her mouth with his hand,

"Coming sire," he says, Waluigi stands up and gives Ria a sympathetic look. Luigi follows Waluigi after glaring at Ria.

«Θ»

Ria walks through the white hallway to the court in front of Luigi, Waluigi and Wario. She was nervous, she had to announce their arrival, she stops at the entrance, Wario walks onto the court without a care, Luigi runs after him to scold him. Waluigi slams Ria into the wall, "Keep going." He hisses, he turns to the others,

"So much for the announcement you worthless bitch," Luigi snarls at Ria, Lucien made him say that it wasn't Luigi himself. "What are you planning?"

"I'm not planning anything I swear!" Ria exclaims holding up her hands in defence,

"Waluigi teach her a lesson. I have a game to win against Mario." Luigi walks away with Wario following behind.

Ria cautiously looks at Waluigi, he looked more menacing, "What did he do to you Waluigi?"

"He made me better." He replies,

"No he didn't. He dragged you down to his level," Ria counters, Waluigi cackles evilly,

"You're a fool... And a pretty fool at that..." Ria raises an eyebrow in confusion, "Lucien didn't specify the punishment I give you," Ria's eyes widen,

"Please don't hurt me Waluigi," Ria pleads,

"Don't worry Ria I won't." Waluigi grabs her hands and puts them against the wall. He smashes his lips against hers in a rough, passionate kiss, her face turns a beet red. He pulls away, and smirks up at Ria, "My match is next. Promise me you'll cheer for me." Ria nods wearily, "Good." he grabs her arm and walks her onto the court where Mario was losing to Lucien.
