Legendary Gamer of DxD!

I wanted to do this one, but after sitting in my drafts for a while I decided to just post it.

-----

"I need to get home soon. Mom's gonna be making some ramen today, so I've gotta make sure to make it back in time." (Y/n) thought, trying to rush home. He made it to the crosswalk that would leave the school when he saw the perverted trio on the other side, walking back onto the school when they weren't supposed to be walking.

"Let's go back. There's no doubt that they'll be changing right now! This'll be the perfect time to take some pictures for our session later." Matsuda recommended to Issei and Motohama, who couldn't help but agree.

"Yes, this is by far the best time for us to see those amazing bodies!" Motohama agreed, smiling widely as his glasses glinted in the sunlight.

They were so wrapped up in their antics that they didn't even notice a pick-up truck moving quickly towards them.

(Y/n) saw the truck, and it was like time suddenly stopped.

"I've gotta warn those three!" (Y/n) thought, his heart beating in his ears. He was about to step forward when he suddenly stopped, hearing a voice in his head.

"Do not help them."

"W-who's there?!" (Y/n) looked all around, only to see all his frozen peers.

"No one will notice that they're gone."

(Y/n) could hear a voice echoing through his head, it was a woman's voice.

"You must not worry for others, because they will not worry for you."

"They... they have lives to live too! Issei is my... he's my friend!" (Y/n) rebuttled.

"You... are a fool."

"I don't care! I'll be the biggest idiot as long as I know I won't regret what I've done!" (Y/n) yelled out, and for a moment, the woman's voice said nothing.

"What if I said I can grant you your perfect dreams?"

(Y/n) couldn't speak. His mother had lost his dad, his older brother, and his older sister.

"Your family can be whole again. All you have to do... is let. them. die."

The woman tried her hardest to convince (Y/n).

"They aren't worth throwing your life away for. They are just pathetic little perverts."

(Y/n) clenched his hand.

"I will show you the world you've been missing out on. The supernatural world that you could've never imagined before. They simply cannot live in order for you to join it."

(Y/n) was silent as the woman's voice echoed throughout his mind, making sure he didn't ever forget a single word that she said.

"You can have everything you've ever dreamed of, all you have to do is-!"

"I won't. I won't be able to live with myself knowing I could have actively saved them but I decided not to." (Y/n) tried to step towards the perverted three, but the voice said one more thing.

"Then... Do what you must, simply don't regret it later. Tch, I don't care anymore."

(Y/n) could hear the woman's voice fading, and time resumed to what it once was.

"Watch out!" (Y/n) yelled, causing for the three to look at him. He began sprinting as fast as he could and, for a kid that didn't exercise, it was pretty fast.

"(Y/n)? Do you wanna join us-!" Issei was about to say something perverted when he saw the utter determination on (Y/n)'s face.

Without explanation, (Y/n) jumped and twisted in the air, pushing the three back with his back.

He fell to the ground and could see the truck racing towards him, with no sign of stopping.

"I'm sorry mom... please... live on okay." (Y/n) wished, before he was ran over by the speeding pick-up truck. His head was crushed underneath the wheels of the heavy vehicle.

-----

(Y/n) suddenly gasped for air and looked all around him. It was simple darkness all around, with no end of it being able to be seen.

He felt like he was walking on solid ground, but he couldn't tell if he was or not.

"I fucking hate you. You know that?"

The woman's voice was back, this time vulgarly echoing all around (Y/n), rather than inside of his head.

He should've jumped or something, but a small part of him felt like he knew the woman, somehow.

"Am I... dead?" (Y/n) asked, and the voice answered without any hesitation.

"Duh! You sacrificed your life for those damn perverts." She seemed particularly annoyed by (Y/n)'s choices, rather than the fact that he was dead.

"What's next? Is this just... it now?" (Y/n) nervously asked, not truly expecting to ever open up his eyes again.

"No, you idiot. You passed the test. Now... I give you another life." The woman seemed to sigh, and (Y/n) could only imagine she was disappointed.

"If it's such a problem, why don't you just... not? Don't you have that choice?" (Y/n) asked, but the voice let out an exacerbated sigh.

"Here sit." A gaming chair suddenly rolled out from the darkness (Y/n) couldn't see into. It looked just like the one he had in his room. He sat in the chair, spinning in it once for good luck.

"Okay..." (Y/n) heard the woman sigh again. "Jeez... how many times are you gonna sigh? We've been here for like... a minute." (Y/n) then heard the woman start laughing.

"So you've got a sense of humor, eh? That's a new one for the nerd type."

"Okay kid, do you know about the multiverse theory?" The woman asked, and (Y/n) quickly nodded in response.

"Firstly, it's real." She must've expected a huge reaction, because she went silent for a moment.

"Yes, and?" (Y/n) asked, not seeming too phased by the possibility.

"Wow. Normally it's a bigger and more funny reaction. Secondly, I've seen way too many of them to even count." She told him, who silently nodded.

"Basically, I've gone to every single universe I could find, looking for someone to awaken me. In the process, they can basically have whatever they wish. Every universe I've traveled to have all failed me, and I made extra sure that you would fail too."

"Too bad for me though, because I got stuck with a goddamn nerd! A nerd who stays in his room all the time!" She yelled, her voice shaking (Y/n)'s chair.

"It's not fair! I've met amazing people who couldn't come with me, or even people with so much more potential than you, but all of them had their own adventures. But you, a nerd who can't even leave his own fuckin' room is who I'm stuck with."

(Y/n) decided to ignore all the brutal insults that were thrown at him for a moment, along with all the very vulgar language that was thrown his way. "Why do you have to choose me? Can't you just like... try the exact same thing with other people until it works?"

"Nope, I can't waste the time to do that! I even have to adapt my plans to fit you, ugh. I was planning on giving someone my powers, then they could break me out, I could beat up the assholes who trapped me, and we'd be done with it, but instead, I have to adapt and make sure you don't die from how amazing I am!" She growled.

"Listen kid, I won't be able to talk to you directly after this for a while. Do you have any questions?" (Y/n) didn't even know where to start, somewhat confused by what she was talking about. He couldn't even start speaking before she continued.

"Kid, I'm gonna drop you in my original universe just where you died. The only difference is that you only get hit by the car and are put unconscious for... a month. Do you have any requests?" She asked, and this time, she actually waited for (Y/n) to say something.

"Can you just... make sure no one from my universe remembers me? Then I won't have to worry on my mom losing another family member, or the trio being scarred by my sacrifice." (Y/n) asked, and he could hear a little giggle from the woman's voice.

"W-what?" (Y/n) asked, second guessing himself as the woman laughed at him.

"You're already growing on me, kid. Even though you just learned that there's an ultimate amount of universes where that exact thing happens, you still do whatever you want." The woman snapped, and (Y/n) could almost feel a weight lifted off of his shoulders.

"Done. While it's not absolutely perfect, nothing is. It would take a very very strong will to break through my magic."

"Okay runt, I'm gonna send you in." (Y/n) could only nod, but then had to ask something.

"Wait! How do I know you're not evil? Like, I'm not awakening some evil devil god or something." (Y/n) asked, and the woman responded in the softest tone (Y/n) had heard her speak in.

"I'll leave my fate up to you."

"Anyways, I've gotta tell you, these powers, even I don't know what they'll end up being. Let's hope you get lucky." Without another word, the dark area was filled with this blinding light.

(Y/n) covered his eyes as best as he could before feeling the comfort of a bed underneath him. He slowly opened his eyes to see a hospital ceiling.

"So she was telling the truth? I guess... I need to get up." (Y/n) tried to sit up, and gladly, it worked.

"Okay... so my body is broken into garbage, that's good."

What he saw when he sat up though did surprise him a lot.

[Welcome, Legendary Gamer!]

A blue screen was in front of his face, floating there.

"What the..." (Y/n) couldn't even hide his surprise at what was happening.

He thought about advancing the text, and the screen dissapeared, before reappearing with new text.

[You have been granted the mighty power of the System, an easy and groovy way to grow your power quickly!]

"Groovy?" (Y/n) thought, advancing the text.
