13 Years Later;

Y/N's POV:

At 3 am;

Everything is soo quiet and dark just like my soul.

It's been three months, but that incident is still fresh in my mind. Just like not a single day has passed, like

I'm still stuck at that night.

I can't sleep in nights, those memories never gonna let me sleep. The guilt is still getting over me.

" I couldn't save her! ", a tear rolled down my cheek. And then a stream of tears started to flow from my eyes.......

I wiped my tears and went to my bed. I closed my eyes a stale attempt to sleep. To get over my guilt, my worries and everything .....

Morning;

I stepped out of my house and closing the door behind me. The cold breeze of December hit my face, it feels kinda satisfying. It was 5:30 in the morning, yeah! A bit early for work. It's because I like Twilit. For a moment it just gives me feeling that everything's gonna be alright, I'm gonna get over everything. I'll have a happy life just like others. But somewhere inside I had a feeling that my life is not meant to give me happiness. It's like my trail is not over yet. I have to face a lot ahead, I sighed.

Usually, shops are open at 6,

I got half an hour. So I decided to go to the park. It was all foggy but yet it seems pretty to me. Me and Mom used to come here when I was a kid. She always sat on a bench which is at the corner but it gives the beautiful view of the park, like a perfect scenery.

I sat on that bench, I rubbed my hands on that bench." I'm sorry mommy, all of this happened because of me. I couldn't save you from him." a tear left my eye.

" I'm sorry mom, you sacrificed yourself because of me. Why didn't you let me die, mommy " and a stream of tears roll down my cheeks.

"You have to be strong", her words echo my mind "I still remember mommy. I promise I'll be strong. "

*Flash Back *

It was raining so much, thunders and lights.

It felt like everything was crying with me, I tried to push my dad away from my mom.

He slapped me and I fell on the floor. I was laying on the floor. My lower lip was bleeding.

"no-no don't hurt her, no please I beg you " *thunder* my mom came running and covered me behind her. She stood there like a protective shield for me.

He took out his gun from his pants and then pointed at me.

"Mom no, go away he's gonna kill you!" I said while pushing her aside.

"Daddy please don't do this. Put the gun down! "

"I'm gonna kill you, both of you," *thunder* he was drunk, he was looking like a beast.

"Minho please listen to me, put the gun down!" my mom said. She tried to distract him.

I slowly grab the landline and called the police. *thunder*

" Hello! Please help us. Mm-y dad, he's gonna kill us pl-" I said while my hands were shaking.

"calm down! Mam. We have tracked your address. Now go hide somewhere. We'll be there in a mi--"

He pushed me aside and my head hit on the wall.

*thunder**light*

His body was looking bigger than my shadow. My head started bleeding and my vision got blurry.

I barely heard him shouting;

"you bitch!" he said then pulled the trigger and pointed a gun at me.

*shot*

I heard a gunshot. I thought that's it, everything is finished.

But then I saw my mom fell on the floor with a thud sound.

"mom, mom no! " I whispered.

*siren**siren*

"you bitch! You called the police " my dad said sternly and kicked my stomach.

He put his gun in his back pocket and ran away from the back door.

" Mom! Mom "

I hardly managed to crawl to my mom.

The bullet hit her in the chest. Her breaths were very low.

"mom Stay with me, don't close your eyes " I was crying like a maniac.

"Y/N!" she whispered.

"don't talk mommy, just take deep breaths "

" Y/N! Listen to me, you have to be strong. I don't think that I can stay with you any lon-" she caressed my cheek.

I put my hand on her chest and pushed it.

"No'no mom. Don't say that! Everything's gonna be alright!"

but her hand fell aside.

She didn't make a sound. Her body folded gently as if she had simply drifted to sleep.

"Mom! Mom! " I screamed my lungs out.

suddenly the main door slammed open, officers came inside and pulled me away from my mom.

Everything felt like in slow motion.

"No-no! Mom, you can't leave me like this! " I said while running back to my mom.

I put her lifeless body on my lap.

"Mom I'm here OK just open your eyes. You can't leave me, mom! "

"Mam let her go your head is bleeding, we have to treat you, come with us," an officer said while pulling me away.

"No! She's my mom. I can't leave her. Mom open your eyes, please! " I cried, but she didn't open her eyes.

I felt black dots, my vision started to get blurry.

"Mom-mom! " the last words came out of my mouth and then everything blackout.

* End of Flash Back *

My dad was a good father but not a good husband. He always insulted my mom in front of me and everyone. He uses to drink but he never came home drunk, but after he had a loss in his business. He started to come late at nights, all drunk.

And one night he came all drunk. After that night everything got changed.

My mom died.

My dad ran away. No one knows where he is.

And here I am all alone, on my own...........

After that I left my school and started to work at different cafes and shops, I'm working shit out all day to pay bills and to fulfil my other needs.

At café:

It was 6 am, I opened the cafe and went to the kitchen.

I set up everything.

"Anneyoung Mr Han! " I greet him.

"Anneyoung Y/N!" he said with a warm smile.

"you are again soo early Y/N. I've asked you so many times, you can come after 6:30 You are so stubborn! " he said while ruffling my hairs.

" and how many times I've told you that it's okay! " I said.

Mr Han is the owner of this cafe. He's a very noble and kindhearted man. After what happened I didn't have money so I left my school. When I asked him for a job, he didn't waste a single moment and gave me a job at his cafe. He's paying me more than I deserve.

And in the night I work as a barmaid, yeah it's not safe for a girl. But I don't have another choice it was the only job available. I'm gonna switch as soon as I got a good job anywhere else.
