KEIRA'S POV

Samantha Lewis is a famous interior designer around the globe.Her design philosophy features a refined use of materials, sophisticated color, and strong silhouettes.

And that is why I am so excited to be working with her. At first my Dad did not agree when I told him that I would like to work after College because he would like me to get trained on how to handle our business. And later on I was surprised when he finally agreed. Now I understand, he wants me to have the best experience  as an Interior Designer. And I can only have that if I will get associated with Samantha Lewis. So, now I will be working as her intern. I really frenzy the idea.

The thought of that makes me smile. Even though dad is very strict with us, I know he only wants the best for us. He really is the best Dad, I must say. The only thing I am scared of, is if he finds out what's going on between me and Daniel. I am quite not sure about his reaction. I don't know if he noticed me and Daniel during graduation day, but I doubt it.For sure my body guard would not say a thing. I got him at my side, one time his daughter got sick and I helped him. And whenever he need some financial help, he never asked twice to me. So I am pretty sure our secret is still safe.

I was half smiling when I suddenly a heard a gentle knock in the door. It was Laura, Samantha's secretary.

"Ms. Soarez, Ms. Lewis would like to meet you in her office." She said as gave me a genuine smile. I like everyone in the team except --of course, Elaine. But we'll see, who knows I may get along with her in time. Not that I care about that but I don't want to cause any trouble, especially if I will be working at Dad's company.

"Right!" I said while I stood up and smiled back at her.  I followed her lead as she opened the door and lead me to Samantha.

"Hi Keira! How is your first day?" Samantha asked while she stood up her sit and walks towards me, while Laura silently left us and closed the door.

"Its so Nice to finally meet you Ms. Lewis, Keira Soarez." I told her as I offered her my hand for a handshake.

"Oh, sorry I am more of a hugger!" She rolled her eyes and welcomed me with a hug. She is so welcoming and I really feel that we will have a genuine working relationship and even as friends.

"Oh, its so nice of you." I told her. We chat for some time and later on she discussed the things that we would need to be doing. She walk me into the Hotel Building and discussed to me how there will be different kind of designs. There will also be stand alone villas. There will be a deluxe suite,superior suite, junior suite, executive suite, presidential suite, presidential villas, presidential suite over the water, and presidential villas over the water. All presidential areas have their own private pool. She toured me around the area and it is quite big but those over the water villas I would be needing a water taxi in order to get there. Well I've been used to going to my Dad's hotel ever since but this one is really spectacular.It feels like they are bringing Maldives here in Lisbon. 

"I will ask the water taxi drivers to guide you so you can get a tour around the resort. Feel free to explore the resort. I would like you to have an glimpse with the current style at the east side. I would like to have your insights with regards to the interiors that we will do at the west side of the resort. " She told me as she called a water taxi to accompany me.

"I honestly feel that we are in Maldives at the moment. I'm really excited to be your intern. I hope I can give you insights which will pass your standards. I promise I will do my best." I told her as I clasp my hands together. 

"That's one thing for sure!" She gave me a gentle pat in the back as she smiled at me. Meanwhile, the water taxi arrived. She gave instructions to the driver after that I went on for a ride. The driver is also very accommodating

 He toured me to different areas with different suites. He showed me every kind of suite and I took photos to get some baseline details. The only area where we did not went thru yet is the presidential suite over the water. Every detail is perfectly outlined. I wonder how does the presidential suite looks like. When we reached the area, even the outside location totally blew my mind away. It was constructed into perfection. I suddenly remember Lilly. I remembered her thinking of going on for a vacation after graduation. Then I remembered Daniel, what if is here with me and instead of working we are on a holiday. Oh crap! I have to focus for now. I don't want to fail Dad. I thought to myself as I heaved a sigh.

The water taxi driver told me that he will be back after 5 mins. Since I have a lot to take photos in this suite. I asked for his mobile number just in case. Then I went down and entered the house. I have the keys with me but its strange that the door is slightly open. Then I thought that the housekeepers maybe just finished cleaning this area. 

So I just entered the area and started to inspect the surroundings and took some photos. When I saw a journal beside the bed of the master's bedroom. I was about to open the journal when I suddenly heard someone talking.

"You know that Dad is still mad at you Daniel. Why don't you come here and help us with our business. I can have you trained here, I have very good men to help you."

"Oh, well, I know! But what can you expect, I already have it checked but your account is still frozen and your credit cards were cut." I heard Edward said again.

"But, don't worry, I already have my secretary transferred an amount to your secret account, not that one, the one that we opened for your emergency needs, yes. Check it and let me know. " I hint concern in his voice.

I'm pretty sure that he is talking to Daniel on the phone. Darn, I was talking to Daniel this morning and he did not mention anything to me. I feel worried about Daniel's situation now. I know that his dad does not want him to be an actor.  Instead, he wants to train him and follow his footsteps. I want to call Daniel right away but I can't. I am at his room and I know he is in the living room, when I suddenly hear some footsteps so I hide in his curtain. 

I am already really worried about Daniel's situation at this time, and I want to fly right back to New York and be with him. But I am also scared of what will Dad do to me if I disobey him. I felt Edward walk towards the mirror just in front of the curtain where I am hiding. I saw him fixing his tie in the mirror and suddenly a look of disbelief was visible to his eyes.

He looks like a Greek-God who came down from Mt. Olympus in his Dormeuil suit. Dear Lord!!! He is walking in my direction! I feel so nervous as If I am about to pee! gross! I held my hand and hold my skirt tightly biting my lips.

"What the ...! What are you doing here?!" He pulled away the curtain that was covering me and I saw him gulped while his Adams apple move. Here I go again! 

I was caught off guard and I don't know why but I cannot gather my thoughts at this time. I just stare at him and gulped inaudibly while I look at his incredible physique.

"Cat got you're tongue? Are you here to spy on me?!What are you doing in my room?! Answer me!" He yelled at me with his furious eyes. I felt so scared and I want to run at that moment instantly, but I remembered that the water taxi just left.

"I didn't know that someone is occupying this villa, I am just in a tour to get some insights about the interior designs that we will do at the west side of the resort. Do you really think I will have a chance to know you are staying here at my first day? Seriously?" I am so proud of myself as I did not yell back at him.Instead I answered him full of wit and confidence.

He was taken back with my answer but he is still looking at me furiously.

"How long have you been standing here?" He asked while still glaring at me.

"I have no idea, perhaps when you entered the room I'm already here since you did not see me enter the front door. Does that make sense to you?!I answered him sarcastically.

"For all I know you are here to spy at my business agenda!" He continue to yell at me as he searched for some documents in his table and when he cannot find what he was looking for he turned back to me and hold both of my hands as he pinned me in the wall.

"Where did you take my file?!" He asked me still not convinced of what I have explained to him.

"What are you talking about! Are you deaf or are you plain stupid?! Can you see me holding any file?! Are you using your mind! Are you an idiot?" I yanked my arms from his grip and run fast outside the villa. I was looking for the water taxi but he was still nowhere to find. So I decided to call him and he said he will be here after 5 minutes. I have no choice but to wait under the sun. It is only half past 11 and I can feel the sun on my skin. So, I have no choice but to wait for him. 

I'm already starting to get pissed when I felt someone hold my hand.

"Keira, I'm sorry if I yelled at you a while ago. I don't know what gotten into me." He said as he brushed his hair with his fingers while his other hand is still holding me.

"You're hot!" I told him

"I know!" He said and smirked at me

"I mean I think you have a fever!" I said and rolled my eyes at him

"Oh its nothing! I'll just go and take some pill." He said and we both saw that the water taxi arrived. The water taxi looked surprise when he saw Edward and greeted him courteously. Edward just nods at him.

"Before I go, I want to make sure that you take your fever pill. If you will let me I can help you get a pill in the medicine drawer at your the first aid box." I told him knowing in that fact as I have already finished inspecting his room.

"I don't mind, but why  do you care about me?" He asked me looking amused.

"Of course, you're Daniel's brother, and I'm sorry but I heard you talking with him a while ago. And I would like to thank you for helping him." I told him as I hold his hand.

"He's my brother!" He said but then there is a sudden change of his reaction. If I am not mistaken he looks pained. I did not mind him, knowing he has mood swings so I proceed to talk to the driver and get him his medicine. I grabbed the fastest fruit that I can take.I quickly grab a banana in his table and some grapes and handed it to him in a plate.

"Thank you." He said

"I'll go ahead, make sure you eat your fruits first before taking your medicine. I'll go ahead." I smiled at him and ride at the water taxi.

He did not respond but he just stares blankly at me. It's already lunch time when I arrived at the office. Laura brought me food at my office. She said its from Samantha. I opened the box and It's my favorite. Chopped Brussel sprout and Kale salad with creamy tahini and maple dressing. YUM! I never realized I'm this famished. So I ravished the salad in no time. I feel so full after I finished the whole bowl.

I went to the washroom and freshen up a bit. I brushed my teeth and wash my face. After that I just put on some sunblock and apply some light make up. After break I went to Samantha's office and thank her for the lunch.

"Hi, Ms. Lewis, I would like to thank you for a the lunch. How did you know that kale is my favorite?" I said smiling at her

"Oh, I did not sent you food. It was Edward who ordered food for you." She smiled at me and my jaw almost fell when she told me that. But I kept my composure and tried hard not to make her see my reaction.

"Oh, I thought it came from you, that's what Laura told me." I said as I smiled awkwardly. I'm still thinking why would Edward buy me a lunch, he really had mood swings. 

"It's alright" She told me and she smiled warmly.

And we started discussing about how I should do my first assignment. She told me her plans and I payed attention and took some notes. Later she dismissed me so I can create a plan at my office. It's already 5 so I wen't to my Dad's office only to find out that he already left for an important meeting.  

I went down at the lobby and sat while I book a cab. When I heard someone talk.

"What are you still doing here? Everyone left." Its Edward. He sat at the chair in front of my table. 

" I did not know that it is already time to go, I got so worked up with what I'm doing. And I forgot that I came here with Dad so I am booking a cab now." I told him as I am pressing on my phone booking a cab. But the internet is not with me at this time. It keeps on logging and and I cannot even book a cab. But I tried not to make him feel that I am starting to get anxious.

"There's no need to book for a cab. I don't mind driving you home, anyways I am also going to the city." He said as he looked at me. He is wearing a black shirt with a black jacket looking really hot.

"No, its fine. You have a fever a while a go and you need to get some more rest." I told him and smiled. Trying to book a cab again.

"No I insist, Is it that hard for you not to try to argue with me, not even once?" He asked me while I can feel his burning gaze at me.

"I'm not trying to-" I am not yet even finished with what I have to say when he suddenly stop me.

"I'm not gonna take no for an answer, Come I will take you home." He said as he stood up and offered his hand but then I just looked at his hand and walk pass thru him.

I heard him groan in irritation and walk pass me towards his car. He wore his glasses when we stepped out of the hotel door.I saw ladies drooling over how hot he looks when we went out of the the hotel. But then he seemed not to mind any of them at all. 

I can't understand why does McDonaugh family is so blessed with a very good genes. I keep on thinking about Daniel but I keep on getting distracted with Edward!

I mentally reprimanded myself.Will you stop It Keira! Daniel is your boyfriend and you should focus your thoughts only for him! I keep on telling to myself.

I almost gasped when I saw his car that was parked outside the hotel. Its a Mclaren P1, this years latest model. I saw people who are even taking photo of his car when we were about to ride but then they all left when they saw us coming our way.

It's been a while since Edward spoke when he asked me where to drop me. Silence is hurting my ears now and I can't tolerate it anymore. 

"Do you mind If we listen to some music?" I asked him swiftly

"No, not at all." He said and we both tried to press the button so we accidentally touched each others hand. I felt like I got hit with electricity when our skin touched each other.

"You go ahead." He told me so I pressed the button again and connected the bluetooth to my mobile.

"I hope you don't mind." I told him while I grinned at him. 

"You already did it and now you're asking me?" He said and rolled his eyes but I can see it lightens his mood.

I did not say a word but grinned at him. Then I played the song the scientist by cold play. It made me remember Daniel again. 

I sang the song like I would normally do in my shower. I almost forget that I am sitting beside Edward. Because of this song I remember Daniel.

I saw him smiling when I looked at him. 

"Hey, sing a long with me." I told him

"Are you really this spontaneous?" He asked smiling.

I just smile and did not answer but continued singing. The mood inside the car is so light. I think I can maybe get along with Edward, anyway he's Daniel's brother after all. 

Suddenly my phone rang and the music was interrupted. It is Daniel.

"Oh sorry, it's Daniel." I looked at him and instantly picked the button disconnecting the bluetooth so I can talk to Daniel freely. He just nod without saying a word.

"Hey, Love!" I answered the phone.

" Kitty cat, are you home yet?" He asked me, he sounds a bit off

"I'm on my way home, I'm actually with your brother. Because I did not realize that it was time to go, and basically I have no car as I came with Dad and he left early so Edward offered to drop me home, anyways he is also going to the City." I said to him giving a glance at Edward who's mood again has changed. He is moving his jaw making him look more attractive. Wait, did I just said attractive?

"Seriously? You are with my brother?" He laughed

"Yes, and what about you. How is your day Love?" I said I did not mind what he is up to again. I don't want him to make me laugh this time. I am literally sitting beside Edward.

"All good, but I will discuss it with you in details later. I don't want brother hear how we talk, we need privacy for some intimate talk." He said still laughing

"Right! Be a good boy and wait for me. I'll ring you when I get back home." I told him trying my best not to sound so excited.

"Ok kitty, I am eager to hear you purr like a cat later!" He said not surrendering in trying to make me laugh!

"Silly! Why you have to be this naughty!" I told him as I giggled.

"Will wait for you, I love you kitty." He said

"I love you too love." I said and hanged up the phone 

I looked at Edward and his expression now is very dark. I cannot even read his expression.

"Would you like me to play some music again?" I asked him.

"No." He said without even looking at me.

I don't understand him. Just a while ago we are already talking like friends. And now again he is back to beast mode. Oh Dear! He must really have a psychiatric problem. I think he's Bipolar. I did not mind him the whole ride but before I go I managed to thank him casually.

"Thank you for dropping me by, drive home safely." I said and I was about to get off his car when when I heard him speak. 

"Is your Dad aware of your relationship with my brother?" he asked me with grim expression. But I was caught off guard with his question.

"Uhm, not yet.There will be a perfect time for that. I hope you wouldn't want to tell him." I said as I looked back at him

He just looked at me still without any expression. So I just went off the car and said thank you one more time. He just nods at me and pressed fast the car, in no time he is gone.

" Tsk! Crazy!" I thought to myself

I updated again. I can't get enough of the characters. :)

I know its a bit long. Its not yet edited.

Once I have time I will edit it for corrections.
