When we arrived home, I immediately check my phone. I saw 4 messages from Daniel.

"Hope you arrived safely kitty-cat"

"Let me know once you reach home"

"I miss you already"

"Have you arrived yet? I can't call on your mobile. Please ring me once you arrived."

I suddenly remember him standing at the airport waiting. I should call him now. I terribly miss him already. When I first started to study in New York, there's no day that I did not dream of coming back home for good. I really love the peace here . I must admit, it really feels so good to be back. But it is not as good as I Imagined. I feel as if I left half of me back in New York. I instantly dialed Daniel's number it only took 1 ring before he picked it up.

"Love, you got me worried. How was the flight?" He said from the other line.

"Oh, it was fine. I just distracted myself in reading so that I won't get crazy missing you!" I told him and I can't help but smile. I can imagine his boyish grin again. He must be smiling at me by now I'm with him.

"So you're crazy about me huh?!" as he laughed at me

"Oh, I don't know what you do but talking to you much make me feel better." I said while I lay on bed and hugged my pillow as if he is there beside me.

" I really miss you love, I wish I can pull the time faster so I can get to be with you faster." He said and heave a deep sigh

"Me too. But tell me how's shooting. Is everything going on well?" I asked him, stopping myself in asking him about his leading lady.

"Yeah, We will be shooting for the whole week, But,I will find time to keep up with you from time to time." He told me and I felt the heaviness in my heart while he is saying that

"Oh it's alright, you don't have to worry about me. Besides it will be best for us if we will both get distracted with work until you come here with me." I told him trying to sound normal as I hugged my pillow tighter.

"Well you must be right! What about you, when are you going to start to work?" He asked me instead

"Dad told me that he will take me with him by tomorrow. So, yeah, tomorrow I will let you know the details. I still have no idea what would Dad ask me to do. I know we will be designing the new hotel that he brought but I will start as an intern I guess. However, I have some schedules where I have to be on training with him from time to time. You know, someday, I should learn how to manage Dad's businesses, so I must prepare now." I told him

"Sounds boring to me, but if that will make you happy then I'm a 100 percent at your back! " He told me.

We talked more about different kind of things and there goes again Daniel talking silly things to make me laugh, until it's already 9 pm. He asked me what time is in here and when I told him that he told me that I should get some rest. I wanted to talk more time with him but I remembered that I will be needing to go to work by tomorrow morning. So I reluctantly agreed with him. He is really so fun to talk to.

It has been almost 6 months since we got official. Our relationship is very young and I'm surprised at how he understood me when I set boundaries between us. Yes, we often kiss but nothing very intimate apart that happen. I am now thinking if I have slept with him, would it strengthen our bond. Well, everybody does that. I mean, I bet Lilly already did that with Ryan and its pretty normal for everyone in our age. I don't understand whats holding me back. But, Daniel never insisted it again to me.  Which makes me admire him more. He respects my limitations but I am pretty sure that I love him without limits. The thought of that drags me to sleep.

I woke up at 5 am before my alarm even starts. I just did my morning routine and wear my sports clothes. I have decided to go for a run for 30 minutes. I really missed this place. Like what I expected. It is still dark outside, I have decided to take my morning run. I just want to smell the fresh air. And it really makes me feel so good to feel the air into my skin. I was jogging for a while and the sun is already out. So I just briefly closed my eyes and take a deep breath.

When suddenly, I tripped into someone and fell.

A strong arms grab my waist and kept me from falling.

"Oh!" I exclaimed. I have no idea where did he came from.

"You should be watching your steps." An arrogant baritone voice told me.

"You should be the one to watch your steps! Are you stupid, you came from nowhere and I am jogging in a straight line! "I suddenly felt so irritated so I brushed his hands off me and stood up straight.

"If you're only opening your eyes then you could've seen me on my way. Anyway, Here take this, you may need to check with a doctor if you feel like you got injured." He said handing me a couple of bucks

"What are you?! Keep it with you! You need it more for a psychiatric treatment! A** hole!" I told him as I pushed his hands towards him and I left.

After my morning walk, I decided to take a shower to freshen up. I completely forgot about my encounter with that jerk, so I just blow dried my hair and change into an office attire. This time I applied light makeup on and join Dad and Aira for breakfast. We talk casually at the dining table.

Shortly after breakfast, I went with Dad to our workplace. While we were inside the car, I sent a message to Daniel, he must be asleep still. It is 7:00 am now, so it must be 2 am back in New York. I just stared at our photo in my phone and closed it then bring it back to my pocket. I don't want to get distracted. Seeing his photo makes my heart feels heavy and happy at the same time which is a bit strange. Every time I think about him, I still can't believe he is mine.He is really the hottest guy at the university, No wonder, he landed on his first major break after College so easily.

AT THE OFFICE

We were greeted shortly by my Dad's employee as we went out of the car. We directly went to his office. As we were passing thru Dad just gave an instruction to his secretary to call Mr. McDonaugh to meet him and she confirmed that he will be with us shortly roughly 15 mins at the most.

"Dad, this is so huge. Why did you not inform me that you are in partnership with Mr. McDonaugh in this project?" I asked him while he is sitting on his desk and reading some paper files on top of his desk.

"Does it matter? By the way, later you will be meeting your team. Mr. McDonaugh will be here in a while" As he replied nonchalantly

"Its fine Dad," I said as I browsed some magazine on top of my table. I am brushing off the thought that I will be working with Daniels dad. I am trying to be calm because I am trying to focus but it seems that fate is reminding me about Daniel. I smiled with that realization. I was in that position when I heard a gentle knock in the door and a familiar looking guy appeared at the door.

"Edward, good morning! Thank you for coming." My dad said as he glanced at Edward

"Edward, please meet my daughter, Keira, Keira this is Edward"

 I can't believe what I am seeing. My eye widens as I almost gasp but I tried my best so that my father would not see my reaction. He is so sinfully gorgeous, minus the fact of him being an a**hole.

"Hi!" that's all I can say

" Edward!" He said as he offered his hands for a handshake. I am thinking of taking his hands and pushing it towards his face, but we are in front of my Dad and I have to act in a civilized manner.

"It's good that you two finally meet. Since you will be working together. Edward will show you everything, You will be working under his team." My dad said dismissively to us.

"But I thought we are waiting for Mr. McDonaugh? And I will be under his team?" I can't help but ask my Dad in disbelief. I'm not yet fully recovered on how this a***hole treated me this morning. I don't know how will I be able to talk work with him after that incident.

"Yes, I am Mr. McDonaugh. Edward McDonough." He said amusedly

I wasn't able to utter a word. I just gulped in disbelief. That left me speechless. It means that he is Daniel's brother. The one Daniel referred to as the "perfect son." Having those thoughts instantly made me dislike him even more, adding up the incident this morning it's a total disaster to be working with him. Besides, If Daniel described him as a perfect son, for me Daniel is still the far far way better than him. So what do I call Daniel now, Divine son? I mentally pulled my hair with my craziness as I laugh into my mind.

"Is there any problem Keira?" Dad asked me

"Oh no dad, it's fine. It's just I thought you were talking about Daniel's dad. That's why I got confused" I said trying to bring back my composure.

"So I guess, all is settled now. So off you go." Dad told us looking at Edward

Edward just nods and smiled, I went out first because Dad got a few words with Edward alone then Edward leads the way to his office.

AT HIS OFFICE

He is very professional. It seems like he did not remember what happened in the morning. Oh well, maybe he did not recognize me. Besides, that incident is brief. I thought to myself. He instructed me to sit. On our way to his office employees greeted him in respect. They greeted me as well and I just smiled back at them.

"Elaine will be here shortly, Samantha will be here at half past 10 so Elaine will introduce you to the team and she will show you your office. Would you like something to drink?" Edward told me.

"It's alright, I'm good. I just had my breakfast" I told him

He pressed the intercom and asked for a cup of tea for the two of us.

"Elaine,Please bring me 2 cups of Ceylon tea, the usual." he said to his secretary I suppose

"Why did he asked me in the first place." I mumbled with myself

"What did you just said Keira?" He asked me as he furrowed his browse

"Oh, I'm just talking to myself Mr. McDonaugh!" I said as I gave him a fake smile.

"Just call me Edward when its only the two of us. And Oh, I think you'll be the one who needs to see a psychiatrist" He said and winked at me

What did he just said? That was the last words that I told him this morning. That he needs to see a psychiatrist. And he is using my words against me. Dear Lord, he remembers me! 

Dear Lord, He is really an a...hole. But why I am feeling this way, My heart is beating erratically and I think I never felt this way before. Hold on, wake up girl! He's Daniels brother for goodness sake!

I tried my best to act normally in front of him, I keep myself on focusing at Daniels' face in my mind. Holy Crap! I don't want to get distracted by Daniel, and I was already reminded of him by his father and worse his brother. And to top it all up he is a sinfully gorgeous looking specie.

Oh, I should brush off the thought that he is handsome. It's not serving me right. All I have to think about is Daniel. On how he loves me, and how I love him back. Thinking about those thoughts completely calm down my nerves.

Suddenly, my phone rang and it was Daniel. I hesitantly looked at Edward, he is staring at me this time as he heard my phone rang. So, I took the chance and asked him. 

"Do you mind if I take a call?" I asked him

"No, not at all." He answered nonchalantly with a gentle smile registered on his face.

I just smiled at him and turned my back but I remained in my seat. Anyways, I'm seating 2 meters away from him so I doubt if he will hear.

"Hey, love!" I said to Daniel

"Love, good morning, How's your first day?" Daniel's voice is so sexy. I can imagine him still in the bed. His voice instantly lightens my mood.

"I'm good, I'm actually in your brother's office now. I didn't think that I will be under his team" I told him

"Nah, I know he's an a** but he is not that bad. Don't you worry love, he just looks like a serial killer but trusts me he can't even kill an ant." He said laughing but his words gave me assurance that everything will be fine.

"You're crazy! "I laughed heartily with him

"Looks can be deceiving you know, who knows he just envy your shirt." He said still laughing

"You're so impossible! You mean to say he's gay?" I asked him crossing my fingers so I can finally breathe.

" Nah! I'm just trying to make you laugh! See you almost bought it! So whenever he is acting an a** just remember what I told you. "He said still laughing, I can't contain my laughter anymore but I try to keep my voice as low as possible. 

"Silly you! I'm in front of him! How can you be so mean! My tummy is already hurting!" I whispered him, both of us is still laughing.

"Oh you'll get by!" He said still laughing.

 When I suddenly heard Edward cough, I then I look at him and one fine lady is already sitting in front of him. He also already got the tea in his table. She must be Elaine, I assumed.

"Love, I think I have to go, I'll call you later! " I told Daniel

"Alright, Love you! Oh! BTW if you're tummy hurts that much it won't be so bad if you'll fart it out at his face!" Daniel said laughing so loudly

"Daniel! I'll make you pay for this! Okay, I have to go" I told him as I hanged up the phone.

It took me sometime before I was able to face Edward. Daniel really got me there. My laughing spirit immediately died down when I saw Edwards mood turns grim. He just briefly introduced me to his secretary and dismissed us. 

"That's so weird. Is he having a bipolar disorder? One moment he's rude, one moment his nice, then next he looks like a madman?" I talked to myself and think about what Daniel and I had talked about. 

Thinking about those thoughts made me laugh. I don't remember how we finally arrived at my office. Elaine was constantly talking but I wasn't paying that much attention to her. The only thing that registered to my busy mind was when she showed me my office.

"Ms. Soarez, this will be your office"  Elaine told me after she introduced me with the whole team.

She guided me to my table and gave me the computer password, handed over all the files that I will be needing. Together with the company policy. She is so efficient in her work. However, I feel that she has a sense of distaste over me. Ever since we are in Edward's office she has been giving me deathly glares for no apparent reason. 

"Thanks!" I glanced at her and entered the office. I'm looking at the files and now settling in the computer as she turned her back and motioned to leave.

"Ugh!Finally, done with babysitting?"  She mumbled with herself thinking I didn't hear

"What did you just said?" I asked her as I raise my right eyebrow.

"Nothing, I said, I hope you enjoy your day. And by the way, Samantha will be here in 30 minutes." She said giving me a fake smile

"Thanks, you may leave!" I said still staring intently at her watching her close the door.
