Edward's POV

After Samantha left I felt so pissed off. I was calling Keira but she wasn't picking up her phone. So I hurried and waited for the lunch break so I can take her to go and eat somewhere. 

I took the telephone and called Elaine.

"Elaine, double check my meeting schedule for the following hours. Let me know if all are confirm. I will go out for lunch so you can send me an e-mail for the confirmation or whattsap it to me. Just make sure you confirm." I told Elaine on the other line while I am working on some paper works.

"Yes Mr. McDonaugh, I will call them now." Elaine said 

"Right!" I said and hanged up the phone.

I finished reviewing all of the necessary documents that I will be needing for the next meetings. After I finished reviewing the materials, I arranged it all in a rushed manner. I can't wait to go on and meet Keira.

I went out of my office and almost run going through Keira's office. Still, I am trying to call her but she wasn't picking up my call. I finally reached her office. I fixed my suit and knocked gently and opened the door. But to my surprise it was empty. I also saw her phone on top of her office table.

"Damn!" I said as I looked at her mobile. " That is why she wasn't answering my calls." I hissed with gritted teeth. I suddenly felt nervous.

I went out and went to Samantha's office. Her secretary greeted me politely as she ushered me inside Samantha's office.

"Hey, what brought you here?" Samantha asked as I entered her office.

"Yeah, I'm wondering does Keira inform you where she will be?" I asked her reluctantly. But Sam just smiled at me in her most genuine smile. 

"Oh yeah, her sister arrived and they went out for lunch." She told me with a taunting smile because of my expression.

"Great! She did not forget to inform her superior but she forgot to inform her husband. That was great!" I said trying to calm my nerves as I massaged my chin.

"Hey, don't be so uptight. Maybe she just got excited. You took her away from her family for a month Edward. She will be back in no time." Samantha said reassuringly.

"Thanks Sam. Do you have any idea what time she will be back?" I asked her again but she looked at me confused.

"No Edward, I'm sorry. Why don't you call her perhaps?" She suggested.

"Nah, how can I, she left her phone in her table. I just saw it now." I said feeling frustrated showing her Keira's mobile in my hands.

"You know what? Why don't you just have some lunch and work on with that later. She will be back anyways." She told me tapping my shoulders.

"Right, I'll go ahead. Thanks Sam. Sorry for bothering you." I said making my way out of her office.

"No you never bother me at all, Now go and eat." She told me smiling.

I left her shoulder with heavy heart. How can Keira forget her phone, "What if something happens, how can I reach her?" I asked myself.

"Damn! She's gonna be the death of me." I told to myself while walking back to my office. I wanted to go and check on Mr. Soarez office but I feel like an idiot if I will go there and ask.

I stormed back to my office and when I reached there I saw Elaine looking confused. She looks like she wanted to talk but she seems afraid that I will yell at her when she speak. 

"Elaine, call Mr. Soarez secretary just find out if he is in the office with Keira, but make sure he won't find out that I'm the one asking." I told her.

"Yes , Sir." Elaine said reluctantly. I instantly went inside my office and slammed the door.

I sat into my chair feeling so irritated. But I tried to calm my nerved. How can I function properly if my mind is not working right. I feel so anxious, I don't understand what is happening to me. I took some water and drink a whole glass all at once.  At that time office phone rang. I went there in just one step and answered it.

"Elaine!" I said as I took the phone.

"Sir, I called Mr. Soarez secretary and have found out that Mr. Soarez was out with his two daughters. Ms. Keira and Mr. Aira. They went out for lunch." Elaine told me on the other line.

"Great, so a big family reunion and they forgot about me." I thought to myself.

"S--Sir?" Elaine asked from the other line.

"Nothing.Okay, thanks!" I was about to hang up the phone when Elaine stopped me.

"S-Sir! I'd also like to inform you that Mr. Yusaku's flight was delayed, we managed to swap the timings of the meeting to Ms. Grayken's timings. " Elaine told me on the other line.

"It's fine, great job Elaine, thanks!" I said hang up the phone.

I ate alone in my office. I am actually not in the mood for eating but I have no other choice. I have to get my brain revved up for my meetings.  I just finished my meeting with the Italian Contractors for the glass panels.  Everything went well. So I am up for the next one. I am checking from time to time if Keira has arrived. I have Elaine checking on her from time to time but she still did not arrive.

"Sir. Ms. Grayken is already here." Elaine said from the other line.

"Right, let her come." I said and not long after Elaine entered with Marian.  Marian confidently enters the room with her usually appealing aura. But she doesn't even appeal to me.

We have discussed about a lot of things professionally and I'm so glad that the meeting is finally over. 

"Thanks Marian, I hope everything will work out as planned." I said as I raise from my seat offering my hand to shake Marian's hands.

I got caught off guard when she purposely lean her self towards me as if she fell towards me.

"Hey, easy!" I told her as I assisted her to fix herself. But she pushed herself more towards me by purpose and hang both of her hands in my nape.

"Edward, you never changed a bit. You are still drop dead gorgeous!" Marian said as our face turns closer to each other. I was too late to realize what she was about to do. The door from the room opened. I thought it was Elaine so I did not bother at all. But when I glanced at the window I saw the pained eyes of Keira piercing at my very soul. Our eyes met in an instant but she ran away fast not looking back.

"Shit! " I cursed inwardly

I instantly pushed Marian away which made her fall. "I'm sorry Marian, I have to go. Elaine, show Ms. Grayken the way." I told Elaine when I reached my office door where Elaine's office is located. I did not bother anymore but I have to follow Keira.
