Chapter 29- Rumor?
It's been two weeks since we've officially moved to London. We had saw our house last Friday, and I couldn't believe how beautiful the house looked. Everything just screamed home to me.
Currently, I had just put Liam down for his nap, so I decided to watch a movie. Covering myself with a blanket, Pablo snuggles up against me on the couch. I had begged Stephen to let Pablo stay here with us in London. He was stubborn at first, but he had eventually caved in.
As for the rumor with Stephen's ex Grace, the one Stephen's mom had asked about multiple times when we first met. It was an on going mess. Me and Stephen had a serious talk about the whole ordeal, and I've come to the conclusion that these girls are crazy. Of course, we had an agreement about trusting one another, but I just had to know the honest truth from him.
Some people may think that I'm still that insecure woman, but I'm over that. Stephen came into this marriage knowing that I only wanted his trust, love, and protection. I wanted him to be honest and loyal to me. And with that I wanted to feel secure in our relationship.
He had let me go through his phone, which I never asked too. But in all honesty I thought he was really trying to make this relationship work. We had also gone to the phone company, where they showed us any deleted text messages or phone calls. But everything was just deleted text or phone calls from his manager, gigs, or modeling agencies.
Overall, I had trust in my husband. I knew he made his mistakes, but if this rumor was true. Then how would he even try to deny it if it was out in the open?
Yeah, he cheated on me with his ex. And yeah, now his other ex was showing up out of the blue, claiming that she was pregnant by him. But no matter what, he was my husband not theirs. They could try making up rumors to break us, but it wasn't going to work.
As of right now, Stephen was in Spain trying to resolve the rumor. It's crazy how out of hand it had gotten. Even his mom had gotten pissed off, and believed the rumor. It's funny how she was fond of his ex before, but now she was on my side standing up for me.
She was the best though when it came to Stephen. Sometimes, he would be a jerk, and now I was able to call his mom over to scold him. It was quite amusing. Hearing my phone ring I reach over, and answer it.
"Hello?" I answer.
"Amor, your gonna have to come back out to Spain." He sighs. I could tell something was wrong, and I wasn't liking the sound of his voice.
"Why?" I question.
"I rather tell you when you get here. I called my mom she's going to come pick Liam and Pablo up. There's a driver waiting outside to take you to the airport. The plane is waiting for you. Just pack anything." He explains.
Now, I was really getting nervous. I didn't understand why I needed to go to Spain. Was this rumor really that bad? Was there something Stephen was not telling me? My mind was just running through scenario after scenario. I wanted to know why he was so insistence on me coming to Spain.
"Elijah, tell me!" I plead.
"Amor, please trust me. Just come, and we'll talk about it in person." He assures.
"....Fine." I sigh.
"I love you, mi amor. I'll see you soon." He says.
"I love you too, Elijah." I say back.
Four hours later, I was in one of the cars Stephen had sent over. I had landed in Spain about an hour ago. I was still anxious about what was going on. I really wanted to know why Stephen wanted me to be here. Was it really that bad?
Breaking me from my thoughts, the car comes to a halt. The driver opens my door, and I step out of the car. Turning my head I see Stephen standing by the entrance way of his agency. Grabbing my bag from the driver, I thank him and walk towards Stephen.
Standing in front of him, the look on his face told me that something was wrong. Feeling my heart hammer in my chest, I felt as if I was having an anxiety attack.
"Elij-" I begin to say.
Grabbing my hand he loops his fingers into mine. He grabs my duffle bag, and puts it over his shoulder. Pulling me into the building, he walks us towards the elevator.
Pressing the button we wait for the elevator to come. Sighing, I just wanted to know what was going on. Hearing a ding the elevator doors open, stepping inside he presses the tenth floor button.
Being inside the elevator felt like an eternity. A few minutes into our ride up, Stephen turns towards me. I look up into his green eyes nervously.
"I love you so much. I just want you to know that." He smiles wearily. You could tell something was bothering him, and I was soon going to find out what. Placing my hands on his face, I peck his lips.
"I love you too. No matter what happens I'll always stay by your side. I promise." I smile weakly.
Hearing the elevator doors open, Stephen grabs my hand leading the way. Walking down the hall, he opens a door that leads into a conference room.
Pulling out a chair he ushers me to take a sit. Moving to the other side of the table he sits across from me, placing my bag on the other chair next to him. When we're both settled into our seats, he starts to tell me what's going on.
"Okay..the situation wasn't that bad at first, but my agency isn't too happy about the rumor. Let alone the multiple rumors I have had so far." He frowns.
"And?" I urged.
"Amor, I lo-" He starts to babble on.
"Elijah! Just fucking tell me what's going on!" I demand.
"They want me to talk to Grace. They want this rumor to be all cleared up. I've argued with my fucking manager. But they keep on insisting that I go and talk to her." He finally explains.
I could already feel my body shaking with anger. How dare they suggest that my damm husband go to his ex-girlfriend to resolve some dumb rumor she caused. I wasn't just going to let him go to her house alone. She was some crazy bitch still hooked on him.
"No! That's out of the question. Can't someone else deal with that. I'm not letting you be alone with her." I grit out.
"I know, amor. But I have too in order to resolve this issue. I can't have this looming over our heads. I told you I have a business to run, and this rumor isn't going to be good for us." He sighs.
Stephen was in the process of making his own shop. He was making a barbershop with a tattoo place mixed into one. I thought it was a great idea.
He was so passionate about his tattoos, and he did a lot of hair deals. Especially, hair tutorials with famous hairstyles. So, I knew his shop was going to do great.
"I understand. B-" I began to say.
"No, ifs, ands, or buts. I'm taking care of this. You have to trust me, and just support me on this. I want this rumor to die down, so we can move on with our life's." He spoke sternly.
"...fine." I frown.
"I wanted you down here to support me as my wife. I need you, and only you. Just because I'll be alone with her doesn't mean anything. All those feelings for her are long way gone. My heart only belongs to you, that's why your my wife and not her. I love you, ______ with every little fiber inside of me. I'm yours forever. Weather you like it or not." He promises smiling.
Looking up into his soft green eyes, I could see all the love he held for me shining through. My husband was sincerely devoted to me, and that was easy to see.
We had grown so close since we've gotten married. Every fiber of my being was in love with this man in front of me. I would follow him to the end of the world if I had too.
"I know. And that's why I trust you. I love you too, baby" I smile back at him.
"Let's get this all cleared up. Then I'm all yours." Getting up from out of our seats, I walk towards him and he loops our hands together. Hopefully, this all gets cleared up, because I know I can't take anymore of his crazy exes showing up in our life's.
Two days later, Stephen had a meeting with Grace yesterday at her house. She of course agreed to meet with him. He had told me she was still hooked on him. She had saw how famous and popular he was getting. Guess you can say, she was more into his fame, then him his self.
He did say, she didn't know he was in fact married now. She had said she had knew about him having a son, but thought he was still single. Of course, he cleared that all up. He had told her, he was happily married, and had a three month year old son.
Once, he told her that she had finally started to show some compassion. She agreed to clear the rumor, and apologized to him multiple times. She was sincerely sorry for causing an issue.
Of course, Stephen being the sweetheart that is he accepted her apology. But she did say she was in fact pregnant, but didn't know who the father was. But overall it's not our problem.
All that mattered to me was that this rumor was all cleared up, and that my husband wasn't the father. I was just so relieved. We were finally able to go back home to London, and relax. Liam was still with his grandparents, but we planned on picking him and Pablo up tomorrow.
Laying in bed I roll over onto my side, facing Stephen I smile at his sleeping face. He looked So carefree and relieved of stress. I was just so happy to see that he got to relax now.
He deserved some rest, after all the stuff he had to go through. Removing a strand of brown hair from his face, I trace my finger over his pink lips.
"Your so handsome.." I whisper.
My finger moves slowly over his lips. I could hear his soft snores. His calm breathing was peaceful. Everything about him was perfect. Especially, those mesmerizing green eyes of his.
To the shades of gray, and yellow that mixed together with the green, made me think about being in a green field full of leafs on a gray sunny day. He just gave me that sense of security whenever I was with him.
"Is that the reason why you're always staring at me, amor?" He mumbles.
Being startled I quickly pull my hand away from his lips. I couldn't believe he was up that entire time. Feeling flustered I turn my head away from him.
Feeling movement behind me, I feel Stephen wrap his arms around me pulling me against his chest. Leaning my back on his chest, he kisses my forehead.
"No matter your reason. I enjoy having all your attention focused only on me." He whispers.
"Because I only have eyes for you. And I always will. I love you that much, and that's why I married you." I express.
Turning around in his hold I peck his lips, and wrap my arms around his waist. Burying my head into his chest, I close my eyes. Even his scent would always be intoxicating to me. That fresh manly smell that I loved.
"I guess we're staying in today. How about we order takeout, and watch a movie?" He questions.
"Sounds good to me." I mumble.
Five hours later, we had taken a quick shower together that took longer then expected. Wink, wink. But we managed to get out, and into clean pairs of matching pajamas. Now, all snuggled up in our blankets with our Chinese takeout, we decided to watch "Justice League".
A few minutes, into the movie I start to doze off. I didn't even know I was even that tired. Feeling arms wrap around me, I feel Stephen pull me onto his chest.
"Just sleep." He whispers.
Without another word, I drift off into a deep sleep. When I did eventually wake up, it was already pitch black outside. I could hear Stephen soft snores, and feel his arms wrapped around my waist tightly like I was going to run away. It was cute in a way.
Trying to get out of his hold without waking him up, I slip his arms slowly off of me. Getting out of bed slowly, I walk towards the bathroom. Closing the door quietly, I turn on the light.
After doing my business, I wash my hands. Looking at myself in the mirror, I notice the purplish marks cascading down my neck. Stephen has become very possessive since we've gotten married.
Which I understand why. I mean, now that we're married it's different from being girlfriend and boyfriend. It's a lot of commitment that goes into a marriage.
I guess, since we were married, he didn't want to lose me because he knew if he ever did anything wrong. That I wouldn't come back. I'm guessing he was afraid of us getting a divorce. But he really didn't have to worry I wasn't going anywhere. I was committed to him.
"Amor..." I hear him groggily say.
"Yes. I'm here." I answer.
Opening the bathroom door, I shut off the light. Walking back into our room, I see him laying on his stomach with one eye squinted open. He looked so adorable with his bed hair. Getting back into bed, I wrap my arms around him. Pecking his bare back, he turns towards me.
"Did I wake you?" I ask softly.
"No.." He smiles.
Pecking my lips he places his head onto my chest. Running my fingers through his silky brown locks, he shuts his eyes. It was just so calming and peaceful. Both drifting back to sleep, we stay in that position.
